Providian constant overlimit fee charged on closed account. raised interest rate from 20.99APR to 29.99APR without notice tricked and lied to us San Francisco

Providian changed the APR of 20.99 to 29.99 on my acctount in April 2002. No WARNING, Correspondence or reason.

I have been with Providian for 7yrs. prior to this event. I called the customer service dept. and the supervisor had no reason for the change.

In addition, Overlimit charges have been placed on my acct. each month. When I stated tho them with proof of my checks that they were paid for on time. They refused to waive ANY of the overlimit fees.

I am currently paying them off, however according to my 3000 balance, it will take about 5 yrs to do so using there miminum monthly amount due.

They still refuse to explain the reason of the APR increase.
