My family & I moved to Boiling Springs, SC in December, 2017. We had put all of our belongings in a Public Storage on Chesnee Hwy, in Spartanburg, SC. We had to get one of their larger units to hold all of our things. This particular unit had multiple doors, which contained the locks belonging to the storage facility. We had purchased a lock from the front desk for the main door that we had access to, along with insurance through Orange Door that was offered at the front desk.

On June 1st, 2018, we signed the lease to our new place & went the storage facily to get our things. Upon entering the storage unit, over half of our belongings were missing. We imediately called the police & filed a report.

I also reached out to Orange Door Insurance to begin the claim with them as well. I filled out all of the required paperwork, sent in pictures & receipts of all the items that I could find, along with the police report.

Because my personal lock was not physically broken, Orange Door Insurance denied my claim. They will not return my phone calls or emails. The detective had even reached out directly to the claims adjuster & sent her an updated police report and still not response from Orange Door.

I met the detictive back at the storage facility & we were advised that there are not security cameras on any of the buildings. We asked for a list of all of the breakins they have had in the past few years & the list was very long. Every unit in my building had already been broken into & this information was not given to me at the time that I was inquiring about the unit.

We had also asked the front desk attendent to bring the keys to be sure that all the keys to all of the additional locks were accounted for. And all of them but 1 was not accounted for & it belonged to someone else. The detective & I was told that the lock belonged to someone else & they did not have a key for it. The detective asked why was it never removed & replaced with another facility lock. The attendent, responded "I dont know"

I need some help!! I don't know where to turn for help. I want to go after the storage facility & make them accountable for all of the breakins occuring on their property. Not just for me, but for all of the other families that will be moving in after me.

I also want Orange Door insurance to honor the claim, that was legitimately turned in.
