I have booked one king size bed room to Red Carpet Inn (Gatlinburg) through http://www.gatlinburgtennesseehotels.com on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 for one night (check in June 28, 2008, check out June 29, 2008), for the amount of $ 44.96 per night. I used my credit card and the website above charged me $4.99 as a booking fee.
The website had pictures with the hotel rooms that looked decent, and I decided the hotel is in good shape, and will meet my needs.
I got to Gatlinburg, TN one day earlier, Friday June 27, and called the hotel to ask for an extension, they had rooms available to extend my reservation for 2 nights instead of one, and made me pay upfront, for 2 nights, in the amount of $102.28, even before I saw the room.
When I got to my room, it was in awful condition: extremely dirty carpet, bad smells, extremely small room. I have pictures of it, as you will notice, very different from the pictures posted on http://www.gatlinburgtennesseehotels.com. The website deleted the pictures, probably after I claimed the refund to the hotels manager, and called GatlinburgTennessee Hotels as well to inform them of the fraud I was the victim of, but they are still available on other websites, and I also kept copies. I will try to attach pictures to this claim, and will be willing to provide them at any time.
Due to the awful condition, I could not stay there for the whole time, and decided to leave after the first night. I told the manager that evening that in the morning I will be leaving, and asked him to give me a refund, just for the second night, based on the fact that the room was inappropriate. When I left the next day, the manager refused to refund me for the night I was no longer willing to spend there. I spent money on another hotel for the second night, and I feel like I was the victim of a fraud.
The manager claims that gatlinburgtennesseehotels takes a commission and if he refunds me, he is losing money, and gatlinburgtennesseehotels tells me that I have to dispute directly with the hotel (which to some extent makes sense), so noone is willing to help me.
I left reviews on all travel websites that allowed me to do that, but I am hoping that I will get a refund for the night I did not spend there.
I highly appreciate your help and good intentions to make this public.
I will be more than happy to provide any additional information if needed. Thanks again.
