I recieved a letter stating that I had won a credit voucher for $400 off one of 5 items. I did some research and found that the RCA home surround sound system they wanted to sell me for $579.95 minus the $400.00 credit voucher (that comes to $179.99) has a msrp of only $149.99. The cabinet that they send with it cannot be worth $430.00. This is obviously only a way to for them to sucker in people. Jason slatington, PennsylvaniaU.S.A.

I received a four hundred dollar voucher to be applied to one out of five items on their list and I chose the Ultralite 5 piece expandable luggage for a balance of $79.99. Made the check out and waited for over six weeks. Noticed that I hadn't received it so pulled out my copy of the check and their information to call them. Guess what no number. Got worried, so I searched their website, guess what, no number. Pissed off I felt. HEEEEELP!!! Linda el monte, CaliforniaU.S.A.

I received (2) 400.00 vouchers in the mail. I ordered a Kicken island with stainless steel countertop. I Paid the remaining balance of 189.95 with a check and sent in the mail. I waited for a fews weeks, but had forgotten about it until I checked the bank statement. I realized there was no phone number to reach them about the delivery of my merchandise, or any mention of shipping or how long it would take. I Then thought about searching on the internet. I have gotten a sterero from them in the past with no problem, so I assumed that this would be no problem. I am willing to do what it takes to get my money or merchandise, as I was looking forward to getting this item for storage and style. very upset and dissappointed. Denise Everett, MassachusettsU.S.A.

Same thing happened to me, pretty much. I ordered something from them, and it came with a COD. Since I needed the item, I paid it, but they never said anything about extra payment outside of what we had to pay for the item. Does anyone know of any action being taken against this company? I ordered the TV for $37.96 and now have discovered that it will in fact be a 5 B&W TV. Their correspondence was misleading and I intend to report this organization to the Georgia Adjutant Generals office as soon as I receive the TV. They also sent me a mailout for a OMNI-2 digital camera. I have searched the web and am unable to determine that such a model exists currently. WATCH OUT. They offer this for $27.38, so it must really be nothing. Gary Statesboro, GeorgiaU.S.A.

hello. i purchased an ibm/phillips desktop computer from the sweetpstakes clearing house last year in the month of aug of 2004. my complaint with them is that they sent me a voucher stating the attached credit voucher is yours, as a consolation winner, and may be applied toward your choice of the following: the ibm desktop computer w/software and free internet. never did i get the free internet and the voucher did not state that i would be getting a windows 95. are they not suppose to be selling windows 95? if that was the case, i would not have purchased the computer. i cant hardly do anything with it because the windows are so outdated. i called them one time after i purchased the computer and they told me that i could pay the difference, which i don't believe is fair to me. what they did was poor advertisment, im very disatified and refuse to pay more money for anything. i paid my lay-a-way on time, got it out, therefore i demand justice. if you can, help me, please! I also just received a voucher for $400.00 from the Sweepstakes Clearinghouse. At first I was eager to send in the voucher and use the lay-away option because I am in college and moving into a new apartment. But something struck me as odd because there was no phone number for the company on the certificate or email address. Another thing that caught my attention was that there was no mention of shipping and handling charges. So I went online and put in Sweepstakes Clearinghouse hoping to get to a website that would have a phone number so that I could call and ask questions. Instead, I found this website and I'm glad I did. This site saved me from the stress and anger that so many others had to endure. I'm glad for this site. Needless to say, I ripped up that voucher. About a year ago, I recieved notice in the mail that I had won a prize (mystery gift)I was to send $5.00 to cover shipping fees, after payment had been made, my mystery gift never arrived, I just wrote it off as a bad experience. Today, I recieved yet another yellow Notice slip, saying I had won a Television Set, I am to send $47.96 or 2 payments of $23.98 instead, for shipping/handling fees. After looking my notice over carefully for a telephone number to contact them on the size and make of my winnings, there was no number, not even a web address for them. I decided to look the Sweepstakes Clearinghouse up on the computer, and boy am I glade I did so, or I once again would have been ripped off by such non-sense. I just want to say, Thank You for this site, I just hope more people check this site out before they send any money, you all just saved me $47.96. Todd Manitowoc, WisconsinU.S.A.

My balance is 179.00 from a $400.79 balance. What shall I do to get my money back Diana glendale, ArizonaU.S.A.

I have been a customer with this company for several years. I have purchase several items from them. A lot of times the items are not what the photo presented. However my last purchase(which will be my last), I ordered (1)Drum Set Account #21984152 for 168.00 from this company on layaway. I was sent a much higher bill in my billing cycle. The amount rose from $168.00 to over $200.00. I called the company to find out why the invoice was so high. I was told by the receptionist that They added on my State taxes and shipping cost to the balance. I further told her that at the time of purchase it did not mentioned any State taxes of shipping charges any where on the dicount coupons or the form that you fill out. I told her that iI wanted my money back because I paid $50.00 down. She told me that I would lose my money. Every month thereafter they would charge me extra money against the total. I began paying the balance of electronically to keep a track of my payments.( see below) SWEEPSTAKES CLEARINGHOUSE Account Number: ######52 1555 REGAL ROW PO BOX 569600 DALLAS, TX 753569600 Payee Phone Number: 1-214-915-7100 Payment Date Payment Amount Payment Account Payment Status Reference # Action 06/15/2004 $50.00 #### CHECKING Pending VBZB6927 04/20/2004 $50.00 #### CHECKING Paid TB2B29U4 Inquiry 03/15/2004 $50.00 #### CHECKING Paid 6BCBR982 Inquiry 02/13/2004 $50.00 #### CHECKING Paid 5B9BF9U9 Inquiry 01/15/2004 $50.00 #### CHECKING Paid 7BZBL9N9 Inquiry 2001 - 2004 Wells Fargo. Just to tell people not to be in a rush if ordering anything from swweepstakes clearinghouse. With the coupon checks they send you, dont be fooled with the price on the ad. You will be paying the suggested retail price in small print above. I was careless and sent mine in for a rca stero system on layaway which they will not return to you. The ad price said $179.99 suggested retail $579.95. If that isn't bad enough, I got on the rca website and their retail for same stero was 278.99. I have ill lately and had had free time on my hands, very knowledgebale about RIPPOFFS and I am going to do my best to stop these thieves! Excuse my bad typing Thank You Clay raleigh, North CarolinaU.S.A.

They sent me a letter along with certificates and a catalog informing me that I could purchase items from the catalog and even put on lay away without a service charge. I did just that. However, when I paid off the last balance that was due, I spoke with a customer service representative who informed me that the merchandise will be mailed out on a certain day. Due to just mailing items regular mail, it may take up to four weeks. (I thought that was pretty strange due to most companies like to have tracking information for their files. After six weeks and still haven't received the merchandise, I called again. this time they informed me that they were going to send out claim forms. Which by today, I have not received. I will give them a call tomorrow and investigate further. I will inform you of any other information or changes that may come about. Thanks, Tanya Upland, CaliforniaU.S.A.

Sweepstakes Clearinghouse Deceptive Notification Dallas Texas
A notice is sent leading you to believe you have won an elaborate stereo system, but you must first mail them $37.50 for handling and delivery cost. Most any am/fm casseste stereo can be purchased for this amount from any retailer. They offer your money back if returned within 30 days. Most people won't go through the hassle of mailing the item back, and if you do, the company draws interest on your money in the mean time. Don't fall for it. Michael Huntersville, Ohio

I wished I read these comments about othes on this site before I got involved with Sweepstakes Clearinghouse. I ordered a 4-in-1 Tool Kit from them three weeks ago for $89.95. My check cleared about 3 days later. Here's the ripoff, when UPS deliver it there was a balance due of $41.84. What's it for, I have no idea! I refuse to pay any additional money so I told UPS to return it. I'm unable to contact the company and they don't answer their emails. Yesterday, I got another package of those vouchers and advertisements from them and that 4-in-1 Tool Kit is now $79.95. You only burn me once, because I learn from my mistakes! I received an envelope containing vouchers for $310.00 off anything in the mailing. There was a countertop dishwasher that was listed at $369.95. I thought that it was a cool idea for just me and my son. I filled out the order form and the total was going to be 59.95. I gave them my visa information allowing them to charge my visa for what I thought the total was going to be $59.95. When it showed up on my visa that they charged me $200.94 I was astonished. I called them right away. They told me that the item was not supposed to have a $310.00 voucher it was only $210.00 sent out with that item. Well the ones I got were $310.00 and thats what I mailed to them with my order form. The difference of $40 something was for shipping that I was not aware of from the way they worded it in their mailing. It was in tiny print of course at the bottom I did finally find it after arguing with who they told me was the supervisor that I asked to speak with when I was getting nowhere with the first person I talked to. I told them that I did not want this half size dishwasher when I could buy a full size one for the same price. I was informed that I would be reimbursed as soon as they received the item back, that it had already been shipped. I was supposed to refuse delivery. I have still not gotten the dishwasher to send it back to them. That was over a week ago and I am still waiting. I am going to call them again today to try to find out what is going on but I'm sure its going to be just a waste of my time. I feel that they are ripping off people everyday and they need to be stopped. Tammie Hudson, FloridaU.S.A.

Today i received an envelope containing $2,400.00 worth of vouchers stating i have been awarded a consolation prize!! The only catch is i have to use the vouchers toward several different products in a catalog that was mailed with the vouchers. I can't beleive these people have the nerve to send me garbage like this. The products are not even worth the prices they are asking. Man i can go to Walmart and buy practically the same thing for alot less money. People be aware of these scam artist... because this is like the 6th one i have received from different companies!!! I wish i just had a portion of what they claim i have won in the last 30 days. I'd be multiple milloinaire by now!!!! David Corrigan, TexasU.S.A.

I got these $400 credit vouchers and applied one of them to buy a $480 worth luggage set. I paid the remaining $80 with a money order.
