A Matter of Fax ripoff Harrison New Jersey
Ordered printer cartridges 12-15-02, real time availability 33 in stock. 12-16-02 Recieved E-Mail, order processed and in fulfillment. Needless to say 12 days later order still in fulfillment. No tracking number waiting to be processed. My credit card was charged 12-16-02. Tried to cancel order via the website, can't cancel order in fulfillment. No 800 number for customer service, automated E-Mail address. No way to contact these people, except for toll call. They sent me a survey asking about the product and the service. A classic RIP OFF in my eyes, BEWARE Douglas Finleyville, South DakotaU.S.A.

A Matter of Fax Total Ripoff Harrison Internet
A Matter of Fax intentionally misleads customers by misrepresenting their products. I thought I was buying Canon ink cartridges with free shipping. After pressing the final click for the purchase, it shows that the price whent up $20 for expedited shipping that I did not ask for. Customer service did refund this. Then when the package arrived, it was generic ink. When I went to their website to review it, I saw that indeed they called it Canon ink and had a photo of Canon ink--and in fine print beneath the photo it said it was for photo purposes only and that it would be generic. Then I looked up their refund policy: No refunds for ink! Clearly this company is knowingly ripping people off. The just ripped me off.

I ordered a Toshiba lamp ($124) for my TV from this company as it was the cheapest one on the web and advertised free shipping.  I requested free shipping and received an email confirming that the order was being processed - no invoice or breakdown of what I had ordered was indicated.  The lamp burned out one day after we received it, and I returned it to them under the 90 day warranty, and asked for a refund since they were in the process of changing to a better supplier, as it appears that they had many complaints on these lamps.  I then received my credit card bill and saw that I had been charged a total of $197.63!  I immediately tried to find the find the invoice which was not reflected in any of their confirmation emails.  I eventually made my way to their customer service link under which you can print out the invoice.  Imagine my shock to see 2 day shipping charges of $73.63 included in my invoice.  When I called them up, they told me that I had to have clicked on the 2 day request (which I definitely did not - why would I pay shipping charges that cost more than half the price of the lamp when I could get free shipping from them).  While the customer service people I talk to are very nice on the phone and have refunded $124, they tell me they can do nothing about the shipping costs since they were paid to the supplier.  I am contacting my credit card company to see if I can challenge the charge, but I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!  I see from previous posts that this is not the first time it happened....

Placed misleading description of the item and a picture of a different one. I wanted to purchase refilable duster can with air compressor. Pictured just that and description was Refilable Duster System. Instead, sent 4 refilable cans with no compressor. Picture was misleading as well. It was of the electric duster pump and a can. They changed the description since then. The picture is the same, description still not too clear but now on the bottom of the page they have small print that actually says that it's 4 cans that you're getting. They won't exchange it saying it's discontinued (that's their policy, no exchange). Refund, sure, if I pay $50 restocking fee. Item cost $44. Obvious ripoff. Their Customer Service will take a refund but if you do not read the terms you maybe charged $50 without knowing it. I clicked on terms and policies and lucky for me found out about it. I'll never do business with them again. Roger ELMWOOD PARK, IllinoisU.S.A.

A Matter of Fax operates like a Ponzi scheme in Harrison , New Jersey
Be advised that A Matter Of Fax in Harrison, NJ operates their business much like a  Ponzi Scheme. This company uses revenue to pay employees and operate, while leaving vendors and suppliers in a state of non-payment. A Matter of Fax Tried to invoice twice advertised amount, lied about item, shipped smashed item a month late, attempted bait & switch Internet
Bulb blew on our TV a month ago. Hopped online and ordered a bulb immediately. Thought I had found a good price here. Unchecked the warranty because the warranty costs as much as the bulb itself. Got the invoice and it was twice as much (they added the warranty anyway) Called them and had them fix it. Got the price back to what it was supposed to be. Later that day I got a call from Matter of Fax asking me if I was sure that I wanted that bulb, or if I'd rather have essentially the same bulb for twice as much. Guy said the difference was name brand vs generic. I said I'll stick with the generic, but thanks for asking. (I thought this was kinda fishy) I asked when I would receive the bulb. he said 2 to 3 business days. A week later still no bulb. I called, they said that it was on order and should ship in a few days. A week later I called again, they said the same thing. Already I was upset that they sold me a product that they didn't even have, and then lied to me about it. Finally, a month after I placed the order, the bulb shows up. It was wrapped in bubble tape and placed in a box that in turn was placed in another box that was full of packing peanuts. BUT, the casing was broken, every clip inside that holds the bulb was broken, the metal bracket around the bulb was bent with both plastic screw brackets broken and the bulb and literally 10 pieces of broken plastic were rattling around inside the broken casing. It was obvious that this unit was smashed to pieces before it was ever even packaged and shipped out. This is the worse customer experience I have ever encountered. Do NOT do business with these people. We are changing our credit card number because of this. These guys bait and switch on purpose, and will send you broken items on purpose in an attempt to make more money off of you with their return policy and 'restocking' fees.

A Matter of Fax Jonathon Sheldon, SCAM: Does not ship, does not answer emails promptly. Internet
I placed an order.  I got a tracking number (after an onerous process of verifying my credit card).  The order was never delivered.  The tracking number indicated that it had arrived about 2,000 miles away -- I'm in California, while the product ended up in Ohio.I emailed and called.  It was very difficult to get a response -- I had to call and email repeatedly.  Finally they refunded me but it was not for the total fee that had originally charged me.

A matter of Fax Amatteroffax.com Advertising false prices!! Changing price after orders are placed!! Bait and Switch!! Harrison, New Jersey
This company Advertised a price of 1880.00 with free shipping for the Samsung SCX-6545. I placed the order and my order was confirmed by the company. Later in the day I was informed that my credit card was denied which was false. I checked online to confirm that my credit card was infact not denied at all. This card had a balance or well over the amout of the purchase and all the information was correct. Amatteroffax changed the price over the weekend. They raised the price by well over 200.00!! This actually caused me to lose money on this item as I had made my bid proposal to my customer based on my original order price of 1880.00!! This is false advertising and it is a method used by unsavory businesses to attract customers. I would suggest to any reseller or individual that you may wish to stay clear of any company that uses such tactics.

A matter of fax .com amatteroffax.com charged amount significantly higher than amount authorized. Internet
They do not sell branded products. You will only receive a very cheap knock-off version, even though they list the name brand item in their catalog. Ordered a Samsung brand cartridge printer pack. They charged my credit card for an amount $20 higher than price listed. Have contacted them and called them 6 times and no response. When I finally received the item, it was a generic version, not the Samsung branded item they listed for sale. Over two weeks they would not respond to my calls or emails. Had to dispute the transaction and Visa reversed the charge.

A Matter of Fax Defective product, unresponsive third-party customer service Harrison New Jersey
I purchased a replacement lamp for my Samsung television. When it arrived, it did not appear to be in original packaging. When I installed it, it was burnt out and useless. When I attempted to contact the company, I found that they'd contracted customer service through a company called csliason.com. Csliason sent me an automated reply telling me to download a return label, but did not indicate whether this would be for a replacement product, or a refund. When I asked (more than once) for clarification, I got no response. I would not purchase anything from this company again. They sent me a defective product, then shunted me off to an anonymous, no-response external service that won't answer a simple question.

A Matter Of Fax Online Store **** amatteroffax.com **** A Matter Of Fax Online Store Fake Company, Scam Artist: Save your time & money & shop someplace else... HARRISON New Jersey
wish I had read the reviews on A Matter Of Fax prior to ordering... I would strongly recommend NOT making a purchase through A Matter of Fax. The ordering part was easy... I first search for the best price for the Konica-Minolta value pack toner #1710504-001 and found A Matter of Fax with the best price at $354.54 which included free shipping The first problem I had with A Matter of Fax is that they overcharged me for my Konica-Minolta value pack toner by $175. I checked after submitting my order and found that they charged me an additional $7.48 for shipping... It's extremely difficult to reach their customer service (no toll-free number for customer service) - I disputed the shipping charges by leaving messages on their voice mail (no one picked up the telephones) and by sending several emails. Finally received a response via email saying that I was to receive the credit... Checked my credit card statement online and found that instead of issuing a credit, they charged me another $7.48, now for a total of $369.50... plus the $150. I sent off another barrage of emails and telephone calls and finally got only $7.48 off instead of the full $14.96 -- and never got themt to remove the over charge for the toners. I had to file a fraud case with the credit card company. My next problem with A Matter of Fax is when I opened the box of toner -- it was defective and was not original Konica-Minolta value pack toner... It looked like someone had done a poor job of trying to refill the toner cartridges. A Matter of Fax still have not returned my calls, so I had to issue a compliant/dispute with my credit card company and hope to have this fully resolved within the next couple of weeks. Bottom line -- Save your time & money & shop someplace else... S.bernard New York, New YorkU.S.A.

A MATTER OF FAX .COM CREDIT CARD FRAUD, UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE rip off scam con artists ripoff thieves fraudulent ripoff business Harrison New Jersey
While Looking For Monitors For A Friend, I Came Across A Website That Featured Monitors From A MATTER OF FAX, At A Bit Lower Prices. Well I Saw One That Looked Ok, So I Wanted To See What The Total Charges Would Be, Including Shipping, So I Added To My Shopping Cart And Went To The Check Out Page. The AD Described The Monitor As A 19 BLACK Flatscreen Monitor, Well When I Got To The Check Out It Displayed A WHITE Monitor, So I Went Back To Verify That It Was The Same Ad I Was Looking At, Mind You I NEVER Finalized The Sale Or Authorized This Item To Be Charged To My Credit Card ANd Didn't Think That It Would Have Been, Seeing As How I Didn't Click BUY. Needless To Say I Found A BLACK Monitor At AMAZON.com And Purchased That One Instead. Well, One Week Later I Had Already Recieved My Monitor From AMAZON And Then I Recieved The Stupid White One From The Company That Was Selling Them For A MATTER OF FAX.com, And Then I Found Out That They Charged My Card, Causing My Bank Account To Be Over Drawn By $224.65, Which Is Kind Of Funny Because The Monitor I Looked At Was Approximately $165.00, With Free Shipping!, So I Contacted The Company, The Rep. Told Me That They Sold Hardware For A MATTER OF FAX.com, He Gave Me All The Numbers I Needed For A MATTER OF FAX .com. Well, When I Called A MATTER OF FAX.com, I Told Them The Situation, He (Jason) Then Became Very Rude, Stating That Even If I Went To The Bank And Told Them The Purchase Was Unauthorized, That He Had Paperwork Saying Otherwise And When I Asked To Speak To Someone In A Higher Position He Answered (and i quote) I Answer To No-One. Now I'm Quite Sure That He Is Not The Only Person In Customer Service, And Even If, By Some Nil Chance He Is, I Don't Think That That Is An Appropriate Response To My Request. He Would Not Give Me The Name Of His Superior And After A Few Minutes Of Me Trying To Figure All This Out He Hung Up On Me. I Called Back And He Hung Up Again. Needless To Say, My Checking Account Still Has A Freeze On It, To Avoid Any Further Charges The Bank May Have Applied, While I Try To Figure Out A Solution. They Won't Take The Monitor Back, They Refuse To Try And Rectify This Situation, AND They Over Charged Me A-LOT!!!!!! So Now I Have To Try And Sell The Monitor, It's Still In The Box, To Get The Money To Get Myself Out Of Debt. Anyone Looking For A 19 Flat Screen WHITE Monitor? Faustus Salem, MassachusettsU.S.A.

Matter Of Fax They Have My Money I Don't Have My Lamp After a month, they shipped the wrong product, now they are dragging their feet about replacing it Internet New Jersey
3 months ago I ordered a replacement lamp for my projector. I was told I would have it in 2 to 3 weeks, finally after a month it was shipped. When I tried to install the lamp, I found that they had shipped the wrong product. I sent it back to them using UPS, I had UPS email them the tracking number, and after 2 and a half weeks, I did not hear anything. When I emailed them they stated they needed a tracking number. If I cancel the order I have to pay a 17.5% restocking fee, and I don't even know if they have the correct lamp to ship me. Mark Mesa, ArizonaU.S.A.

Route 22 Nissan dishonest deceptive ripoffs tricked and lied to us Hillside New Jersey
On 7/23/2002 I went to RT.22 Nissan in Hillside, New Jersey. I explained to them that I was in desperate need of a car because my lease was up on the 7/26/02. I told the salesperson that I already shopped around and gave her all the quotes I had gotten. She made me a better offer. I told her I would get back to her the next day. I called her the next day and she was not in so I spoke with someone else. I explained to him that I wanted to add a convenience package to the car. He looked up my paperwork and told me how much more this would run me. This included the price the previous salesperson had given me plus the convenience package and including all taxes. He also told me they had the car in stock. I told him I would be in the next day. The next day I called to let them know I was coming in and neither salesperson was in. On the 27th I went in to finalize paperwork but the car was not there so now they had to wait for one to come in. We went over the paperwork and I left a deposit. On the 8/01/02 I received a call that my car had come in. I made arrangements to pick up the car the next day. I went in the next day. I was proofreading the contract when I noticed that the agreed price had been change. I brought this to the attention of the salesperson and she said Yes, your right. I will go correct this. She returned with a sales manager who said to me that the reason for the change was because this deal had been made in July and it was now August. I said to him that this was not done sooner because they did not have the car. It was there fault not mine and I had left them a deposit. I explained to him how I was inconvenienced without a car for over a week because I was waiting for them. I could have already had gotten my car through another dealership. It was now impossible to get the car because the exact car that I wanted was basically sold out and they stopped making them because the 2003 was coming out in September. Not to mention that I havn't got anymore time to waste trying to find this car. I have no car. He noticed I was very upset and went to talk to the general manager once again. At this time the salesperson was very upset herself and apologized for what they were doing to me. She new it was wrong. She got on her cell phone and called her manager who was off but knew of the agreement because we had met the first night. He told her there was nothing he can do. The sales manager came back and said Sorry there is nothing I can do. He said the general manager said he wasn't willing to take a loss. I just sat there in disbelief. How can they do this we had an agreement. I left a deposit. I need this car. In more words than one he said oh well and walked away. So I grabbed my checks and walked out. It has been 3 days I still don't have a car and have called dealers but noone can get me this car. I want everyone to know what this car dealer is about! I'm very stressed out about the whole situation and I don't know what to do. I have no car to get to and from school or work. I can't even get around to go car shopping. The worst part is another dealer warned me about this dealer changing quotes at the time of signing. I figured they just wanted my business. I guess they were right!! Don't anyone give these people business and always check your contract before signing it. P.S. They were already reported to the Better Business Burea before my misfortunate situatuion. A Matter Of Fax Online Store No invoice, fake pricing, stay away! Harrison, New Jersey Internet
I found the Brother MFC-230C printer at A Matter of Fax for $83, which included free shipping. Upon ordering, I received no invoice - only a notification that the order was being processed. Later, I received a tracking number for the product, but never an invoice. My credit card ended up being charged $104 for what should have been $83! I see that the 'customer service' link at A Matter of Fax takes you to another site, which requires a 'login'. What a hoax. I should have just bought the product at my local store. Vivint Home Security  Contract Rip Off, Internet
My Mother, in her late 80's, signed up for Vivint 4 years ago. She did know it was a 4 year contract. When I tried 2 years ago to cancel the service I found out she was locked in for the 4 years. She either had to buy out the entire contract or sell it to some one else and let it be their problem.  I waited until the contract was due to be over and tried to then cancel it. You can nopt cancel by phone. Their policy is that you must write them a cancellation letter. I wrote the letter in March, 2012. In May, 2012 I answered a phone call from Vivint wanting an update on credit card info. I refused them and after talking to five different people I was connected with theit account resolution dept. After explaining the situation Harry told me they did not have my cancellation letter on file and since it was not cancelled, they had automatically signed us up for another year. I could, within 30 days of the end of that contract again write to them and they would cancel at that time. I refused this option also. I informed him that I wanted it stopped now and nothing else would be acceptable. Once again I was told I could pay it off or sell it. These being my only options for resolution. After much discussion and being put on hold several times it was decided that I could send them a copy of my origional letter and if there were any problems, Harry would be calling me the next day. I never heard from Harry again. Now, in June 2012, I recieved another please update your credit card info call. I'm being told now that I am indeed locked in for this year and that they recieved my copy of the letter 7 days later than their time limit for cancellation. I sent it the night I spoke to Harry! I refused to update and was informed that after 3 months it will be sent in for collections.  I did everything they asked and am still locked into this scam they've figured out? I have tried everything. Now they are telling me that IF I could just prove I actually faxed the letter back in March, they could cancel, but this is the only way. Since it was faxed from a home machine, how in the world am I supposed to do that?   I honored the origional contract. I did everything that was asked of me. Why should I have to pay on this thing that I do not want for another 12 months and still have no guarantee it will end then? How do I get away from these people and their system?

Benz of the Five Towns, Gulf Trading warrantee ripoff dishonored victimized many consumers Rosedale Queens New York
Bought used SUV,from this company, with a 90 day warrantee covering the entire vehicle. Transmission acted up almost as soon as I drove off with it. Got the runaround for almost the entire 90 days with promises and lies. Was told that the Transmission needed a certain part., that was not covered. The part was fictitious, phoney, no such part!!! I had the transmission repaired at my expense and took them to court for reimbursement. I, of course, won the case and now have a judgement for $1010.00 against them, only it is in the previous company name of Gulf Trading. They very conveniently changed the company name before I could collect on the judgement. By the way they have been investigated by the Better Business Bureau and the Dept, of Consumer Affairs, so, BEWARE!!! P Queens, New YorkU.S.A.

First Consumers National Bank, Spiegel Everone should act together to rectify this. Let's Report this to the authorities. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck... it is a duck. Portland Oregon
Hey you guys. I sympathize with all of you. I paid my balance before they axed everyone UNILATERALLY without so much as an explanation let alone a simple sorry. I had zero balance. Then all of a sudden in MAY (FCNB axed everyone in March), my charges magically reappeared and now I have several hundred dollars in balance. I read thru all of the many 4 page complaints yall had and a lot of them sound similar to me. But you all are pretty much dorks. Why? Because you are passive as heck. You merely cry and not act on things. I hereby declare a war. Let's punish this company. What do you say? I heard of many key words like Class action lawsuit, SEC (Securities Exchange Commission), State attorney General. Let me throw some of my thoughts: Mastercard/Visa franchise headquarters, Portland Attorney General, FBI, Some fraud division of US Crime department. C'mon... let's pull our resources together. There's strength and viability in numbers. Okay? Let's do it. Someone who knows the law please suggest a path to fight this war. We should all help/support such information as to get the snowball rolling. Mike Torrance, CaliforniaU.S.A.

EMusic eMusic Fraudulently Charges Credit Card with ploy of 50 Free Downloads New York New York
We purchased your product because of the advertising on the package 50 Free Downloads by eMusic, which did sway us. We purchased MP3s for our boys, however eMusic has charged our credit card $9.99 and we have not exceeded the 50 download limit (Kidz Bop 10 & 12). I've already discussed this via email with eMusic and they state that this is non-refundable per some section code. It's funny how they don't mention any of this on their advertisement on the product package. Also, they do not even allow you to download any 50 free songs until you register with your credit card in case you exceed the 50 song limit. This is fraudulent advertising if you ask me and if they won't credit our account, then we'll be forced to return the merchandise. This just seems to be one big scam by eMusic to keep billing everyone $9.99 knowing they're safe from having to refund anyone. How convenient that there's no way to contact their customer service by phone. So basically, by purchasing your product, the consumer is being charged an additional $9.99. Jeff Delta, OhioU.S.A.
