Bank Search .com US Search, Bank Account Internet Bank search provider is a scam Coral Springs, Broward County Florida
I Contacted Bank account locater .com after only a brief search ( my mistake) They show a license number, and I foolishly assumed they were a reputable licensed private detective agency, like I am. WRONG. I sent , electronicly $ 495.00 Oct 5th, 2007 and have been getting the run around from Fred, or Frank , some east coast scam artist ever since. I was told 30 to 45 days is average for the search(s) I ordered, Its Feburary 2008 and today Fred said people just get mad when there search is not returned quickly. The trial I needed the information for, selected a jury, started, and is over, thats how long it's been. I've used a firm previously called WIND ASSO, and got results, however I could not find them this time, so I got scammed. I sent a request , demand for the return of my money, and filed a report with the Florida Attorney General. Mcgregorr Inc Springfield, IllinoisU.S.A.

Clean Cut Chimney Owner: Robert M. Thide, WARNING!! Chimney Scam Alert! Port Jefferson Station, New York
These people are not just scam artists, they are criminal. They are frauds, and thieves. They use the classic chimney scam, take your money, and do not do the promised work. You can verify my claims about this. Here is a site with multiple other reviews of this so-called company to confirm exactly what I am posting here: (((link redacted))) They initiated an unsolicited telephone call, for a cleaning. Unfortunately, we agreed. In the process, they gave the company name as Chimney Service, which is a lie.  And gave us a call-back number of 845-895-1836, which only rings a fax of a trucking Co. unrelated to Clean Cut Chimney. They arrived, in an unmarked truck, two very rough and tumble unprofessionals. Total hacks. They checked the chimney, and told us it was in terrible shape. Told us that there was no liner, no mortar, threw a few bricks down, etc.  Long story short, we were told that we needed to agree to the work today (red light!), otherwise the price would go up (red light!), and pay cash or a check (red light!), so that they would not have to charge NY sales tax (red light!).  We bought nearly $3,000 worth of work, some of which was done, but we still do not have a fireplace damper, the weather caps on the top that we paid extra for, nor all the bricks recemented, and a few other things.During their work for us, they incompetently managed to turn off our hot water heater, so we had no hot water the next morning.  And did not so much as return a call made to them about this at the time, much less come back to turn it on. You cannot reach the company to talk to someone, ever.  They only have an answering machine.  And have returned none of our calls, ever.  Half the time their voice mail is full so you cant leave a callback request at all.I wish I could give this rating zero stars.  This company richly deserves that rating.Avoid this Co. at ALL costs!!!CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.

Search Engine Setup dot Com 3 Telemarketing Calls in the Last week - Their 800# Just Reaches a VoiceMail, No # on Website Internet has called me 3 times in the last week - and I have proof because it's on my Magic Jack phone number, and it was received in my emails. So it has the time & date of the calls, as well as their message recorded (which I could forward in an email). I tried calling them back, and it was just a messageline. I emailed them from the form on their site, asking them to not call me, but it didn't work. I also contacted GoDaddy, which is where they purchased their domain name, and they can't do anything because it's phone calls not emails or internet related. This is very frustrating as there isn't any phone number on the site to contact them. If anyone wants to contact me for a class action lawsuit, let me know. Thanks.

Passion Search . com In my experience this site is totally fake, Pictures of models who engaged in vague chat never wanting to meet Toronto, Canada Internet
I signed on with Passion Search.  I had a lot of emails from girls who looked very pretty/ model type.  They claimed on their Details that they lived in the UK in various cities ' Manchester/ Liverpool/ London'  but they knew nothing about those cities.  They engaged me in 'chat' but never wanted to meet up or phone.  I complained to Passion Search they said ' we cannot guarantee the authenticity of anyone who signs up. our aim is to create an on-line community'.   Reading between the lines this seems to me an admission of their guilt.  Information I have obtained point to the 'girls' all living in canada and not in the UK. Of course the messaging may have been done by men which is total abuse of the customer. I'm sure the photos were 'fake' anyhow.  I have asked them for my money back and they refused

Star Search Casting (dot com) Total SCAM site....avoid them like the plague. Caveat Emptor! Los Angeles, California
I first familiarized with this Site about seven years online casting site? (Wow! And I didn't need an actual agent!) Lord, how naive I was. Sure, I sucked in to their "membership". Only $11.95/mo. I could handle that! Uploaded a couple head shots, and my Resume. Was informed I would start receiving "detailed casting calls". Sure you can glance through the "free" site Castings, but there were Limited - and you could not "apply". Right away I started receiving "casting" emails. Each time I opened one, I was merely rerouted to the actual web site "link". Which then rerouted me 2-3x times to the actual "link", instead of simply opening up to a page of legit audition info! And I could have done that by myself. The "link" turned out to be a very generic "casting" posting which including an area to "upload" your head shot - in very limited jpeg space (no larger than 80 kb!) That is a VERY TINY thumb shot! Just how does any legit casting director select you from that??? After about three weeks worth of email "receipts" (casting posts), I finally wised up. No, seriously...I am no industry "amateur". I just finally had enough of the 'experience' and posted a few complaints to their "customer service" board. Naturally, they were cool about it. Could not refund my $$ as it was a monthly paid membership...their excuse. Thank goodness I had subscribed only three months. I was out only $38. The big red flag should have been the junk, amateurish "head shots" posted on their main page; 80% of which are unprofessional. And much like a prior member posting stated -ghettoish looking- And to top that off - they actually allow other Talent to "rate" each other! As if anyone, other than a licensed Agent, is qualified to rate someone else on a Casting site. What-ev. So grateful I caught on to this scam ages ago. Scary thing is...They are still an active site (I just checked, about two months ago.)

Spokeo com, Spokeo Search results are false and even libelous, contain illegally-acquired information, Internet
Things you need to know about, it is not a search engine, a title it has attempted to hide behind in order to justify its harvesting of people's data.  Search engines provide direct links to the sources of the information they've aggregated, without attempting to forge connections between pieces of data and definitely without attempting to sell access to those links!Second, the information is false and misleading.  Spokeo's system is automated (in a recent email to a complainant, co-founder Harrison Tang asserted this and claimed that there were only eight people on the company payroll) and connections between the pieces of information are spurious and haphazard.  In my own listing, I discovered that my date of birth, income, house value, and several other key pieces of information were wildly inaccurate.  The result is that the research someone buys from Spokeo will in all likelihood contain outrageous misrepresentations about the person in question, which have the potential to negatively impact their well-being.  (Example: if Spokeo links someone's personal email to a similarly-named account on a social networking site, which contains objectionable material, they could be passed over for hiring or promotion on that basis.)  Users of the site's search need to understand that there is no fact-checking being performed at Spokeo prior to the publication of this data!  You are not getting any good value.Third, the information is in many cases unlawful.  In most states, it is against the law to use a person's name and likeness as part of a marketing campaign without their consent (this is why release forms exist, duh!) and yet that is exactly what Spokeo is doing; just to find out where they harvested an individual's image, you have to pay them, and the individual in question hasn't agreed to that and isn't receiving any kind of compensation.  Spokeo has also made no effort to exclude unlisted phone numbers from their search results (illegal), information about law enforcement officials (illegal), and information about minors (very, very illegal).  Many of the listed phone numbers in Spokeo's database are on the Do Not Call registry, so if you buy numbers from them, they could cost you much more than you think, because the fine for a commercial business calling a DNC-listed number is $11,000 per number! To sum up: the information being sold on Spokeo's sites includes data that is supposed to be protected from public searches and which could result in their clients facing prosecution if used.  And even if that weren't the case, it's not actually reliable for anything because all of the connections are random and automated and none of them have been verified by any kind of fact-checking system.  You won't get what you paid for, and you may end up paying a LOT more than you ever expected.  Stay away from this company.

Search Engine Setup Dot Com Small business owner trying to get website on search engines ripped off $300 by this company, no way to contact, no reply to emails unknown in Florida Florida
The week of May 16th I received at least 4 calls from Search Engine Setup Dot Com, even though I too am on the Government Do Not Call List. I had talked with a friend of mine who had told me that since I am trying to set up a small business in small town, going with a search engine optimization company was not a bad idea. I had no idea this company was a rip-off (guess I am just too trusting). They said for $399.95 they could put my website out there on all search engines, especially local ones. I said that was too much money. the gave me a promo code, then said with the promo code they could knock the price down to $300 (which is about what my friend, who had done this before said it would cost). I asked them if it was a one time fee, they said Yes, I asked There will be no monthly maintenance charges, right? They said No, of course not, only the one time fee (they lied of course).  I said You will send me a confirmation email of course for this transaction, right? they said Yes I gave them my email address. Of course I never got a confirmation. On May 16th, $300 was removed from my bank acount, no email, only an 800 number to call. I called it. It was just a message machine, All our agents are busy at the moment, please leave your name and phone number and we will call you shortly. I called that number 2 days in a row. On the 2nd day threatened to take legal action if I did not hear form them in 24 hours - nothing, not a ring, not an email, silence. I have emailed their sales team, am expecting the same.I agree with the guy from Arizona, I am sure there are more of us that have been ripped off by this company, so I not only suggest a class action law suit; for all the good it will do - I intend to report this matter to the FBI internet fraud division, since they do have an up and running website and are breaking the DO NOT CALL rules.

They asked me to type in my name and some information about myself so the person could contact me, so I did, then a sign comes up to pay $6 for security reasons so no one can just come in a get your information, so I was forced to pay the $6 because they already had my information. They then charged my credit card $83. I was shocked. It was a total scam. should be closed down.

This is so wrong and now they have debited my credit card 19,95 for a mem Rip off and scam from Public Internet *EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back into your bank account that someone wrongfully takes it from you!
I wanted to search for and old friend of mine. Found this site and thought I could do a search for 2.95 and then it asked for a little more information you could add 4.95, never signed up for  any kind of memembership, clicked no thanks and now they have debited my credit card for 10.05 dollars and I will be at my bank first thing Monday morning signing an un-arthroized debit against them for charging me for something I did not order at all. So beware of this site and stay away from them for they are cheats and scam artist, for sure.EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back! HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO: Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth. If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARDIf the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action. And good luck Let us know how you do!ED Magedson Founder Author of www.ripoffrevenge.comRip-off Report PO Box 310, Tempe, Arizona 85280

07:18 PM,,,, As Well As Many Other AKA's Search Engine Optimizing RIP-OFF... Don't waste your hard-earned money on these con-artists! Austin Texas
In early Feb. 2006, I rec'd a call from promising high (Top Ten) rankings in the major search engines. I was sceptical, and asked dozens upon dozens of questions about just how they could help my website improve its visibility in the WorldWideWeb. They had me type in several keywords in Google, and of course when I saw these keywords reveal top ten placement for some of their current successful customers...I was impressed. When I questioned their longevity and credibility, they directed me to the to 'prove' that they were clean and had no complaints against them. I eventually agreed and they faxed me a contract to sign and return to them. They were giving me a deal at $1850 for these optimization services. I told them I could only afford $1000 now, but in 6 months could make monthly payments until the remaining $850 was paid off. The contract I signed CLEARLY states these terms. When my credit card statement showed up, the whole $1850 had been billed, maxing out my card. I tried for several weeks to contact various people in the company to straighten this out, but I was not successful and am still making payments. Fast forward to Sept. 2006, WELL beyond the lengthy email I rec'd from them telling me it would take 12-14 weeks for optimization to take place. I go into their website to check my reports, only to find after 7 MONTHS, my placements don't show up in Google at all, and one placement (which I could not find)was reported to be somewhere in Yahoo! There were a few dozen other rankings scattered across a handful of other search engines, but all-in-all it was a pretty dismal showing. One keyword of mine did, however catch my eye. It described my website being a Lesbian store and a fast-growing source for Gays and Lesbians. I sell artwork of transportation. This has nothing to do with me, so I tried in vain to contact them to get this removed with NO_Results! A call to 877-500-1614 now gets you an earful of screeching data instead of the voice that was there months ago. Repeated emails keep going un-answered, and I really couldn't afford that $1850, but the attractive sales pitch they gave me on the phone in Feb. was to the effect that I could at least sell 3 or 4 prints a month by this time.....I have had ONE inquiry which resulted in a sale so far this year. Well at least that's thirty bucks I can use to pay off the credit card. I am just VERY disgusted, and I wish there was something I could do to re-coop my losses from these CROOKS! I just don't know if anything can be done. Bruce Denver, ColoradoU.S.A.

worldcom wireless is a greedy rip off
Worldcom Wireless keeps charging me for my off peak minutes and my weekend mintues. They only give my 90 minutes of the 200 minutes that I pay for. On my last bill they gave me 1362 minutes for what they called a Free promotion and charged me for those minutes. But yet they can't find it in the computer that they even gave me those but it's on my detailed billing invoice. I am in dispute with them right now and they are supposed to mail me a detailed list for the two months that they are trying to charge me $907.71. The first bill that I had recieved I had to call and they had to credit me for the money that they charged me wrongly. Every month the amount that they said that I owed has gotten larger. The bill that I have recieved in September is $704.07 and I called and they could not find that bill in the system. Felica, the representative who I spoke with told me to disregard this bill. Thank god I kept it. She said that they where having problems with the billing system. They told me that when I recieve the detailed billing invoice for the past two months that I would have to look over it and make any nessessary changes MYSELF! And to call them with the corrections. They are very rude people and not helpful at all. I am still waiting for this detailed billing and it has been 2 weeks since I called about the last bill. I even added up the minutes and took the off peak and weekend minutes off and told them what my bill should be and they said that they couldn't fix anything over the phone that I had to dispute the bill by mail and phone. They donot have a home office in Arkansas. The only way to reach them is by phone. This is very aggrevating to me. I hope who reads this letter can help me in any way possible.
