Cross Country Bank ripoff Boca Raton Florida
I have been receiving calls on my cell phone for a Steve Gomez from Cross Country Bank. I am not Steve Gomez, and do not know who this is. They will call numerous times each day. I called them to get my number on a no call list, and the lady who I was talking to was a real bitch. She told me that she couldnt do that and that I had to write them a letter for that even to be considered. I did not take this for an answer, and the employee saiddidnt you here what I said? in a real snotty way. Then she said why dont you call back later and hung up on me. I felt like ringing her neck right through the phone. As far as Im concerned this person should be fired(I dont know her name because she hung up on me). It looks like other people are having a problem with these people to. I thought it was just my number. If they continue to call I think I will take legal action. sean chicago, Illinois

Cross Crountry Bank ripoff ..harassing phone calls
We do not now, nor have we ever had a Cross Country Bank credit card. However, we continue to be harassed by this company, seven days a week. The son of friends of ours apparently put us down on his application as an employer. When they first contacted us, we gave them our friends phone number, since we don't have his and he attends college in another state. It has been an ongoing sereies of harassing phone calls for months now. This company achieves nothing by calling our residence. There should be some action we could take against this company. Cross Country Bank ripoff abused & mistreated Wilmington Delaware
I have not put any charges on my card in along time.I pay $50-$100 every month and they still say there is a balance owed while late fees are added i have written them about this they have not called or sent me anything on this. Well two weeks ago they called and got of ahold of me i told them the about the same problem they said they would get back with me never did. I give my father money and he writes me a check well they sent me a bill for $553.25 on March 31,2003 on 04/24/2003 my father open up his bank statemments that have his checks that he has written and there is one from cross country bank for $185 that he did not write out a check for just because he has written several for me does not give them the right to go ahead and take it out of his checking account just cause they know his account due to him written me checks before. If they did that why are they still saying it hasnt been paid and charging me latepayments over due payments and saying they havent received a payment when they did my took out $185 from his checking account which they shouldnt of he did not okay it nor did he write a check they did it on there own just because they knew his checking account when he has written me checks before. I have ask them to send me statements on my charging since i havent charge anything in along time which my account should be paid off. I have call several times requesting this information and i have not received not one thing on it or heard from them.Know my dad has told his bank they want him to say yes to go and get cross country bank for fraud and they said they would go after me too. Cross Country Bank Double Cross ripoff Late charges Boca Raton Florida
I have been ripped of by Cross Country Bank ... I was charged a late fee even when I made an Online payment prior to the due date of the payment. I was asked by the bank to write a letter detailing my transaction, fax to them, and they would review ... they reviewed and denied reversing a blatent and fraudulant late fee. This specific problem cascaded into hundreds of dollars of late and over limit fees and further interesting problems. The company Cross Country Bank is a late fee / over limit fee machine. This company has to be stopped ... put in its place! I have since ripped up my card with the 27% interest fee attached, and have brought the card under the limit (but at a significant expense). Cross Country Bank unfair late charges, lying and deceitful reps ripoff Boca Ratan Florida
My wife and I got involved with Cross Country Bank about 3 years ago. Our credit was bad and we saw this as a way of hopefully reestablishing our credit. We received two offers from Cross Country, one in my name and one in my wife's name. We sent in both applications and both received our cards about two weeks later. I beleive each card had a $300 hundred dollar limit. The problems began almost immediatly. We would send in our payments (usually about 2 weeks before they where due), but every bill that we received showed late charges. When we called to ask about them, the reps that we spoke to where extremly rude and unhelpful. The told us that once the charges where in place that there was nothing that they could do about them. I when ahead and payed them for the first couple of months. When we saw that it was starting to get out of hand, we cut up the cards, called the company, and asked for our accounts to be closed. The reps told us that we had to send in our request in writing and that the accounts would remain open until they received our request in the mail. We sent in two requests, one for my account and one for my wifes, two months later we were still getting bills with new late charges. After sending several payments (some of which were NEVER applied to our accounts) we stopped sending them money. 3 years later we have had several letters and phone calls from them offering to settle for a portion of the money that they say that we owe them. Just last week my wife received a summons to appear in court. Apparently our so called delinquent account was sold to a third party collection company who is now suing us for the balance on her account plus court costs. I assume that my account will soon follow although I havn't heard of anything yet. To anyone even THINKING about using this company, DON'T!! They are complete scam artists and will ruin your credit and your life. Carl Granby, MissouriU.S.A.

Cross Country Bank dishonest ripoffs Boca Raton Florida
im here to tell you all how cross country bank is a big rip off. when i received a cross country bank card i was told to have a 350.00 credit limited, but i found out that it wasn't true. the only limit i had was a 150.00 on my credit card (BIG DIFFERENCE). I was totally embarrassed when i tried to purchase something for fifty dollars and the account showed insufficient fund. here is another fact, a woman came in a auto service station and tried to buy some tires where i use to work at and tried to buy four brand new tires that was on sale for 250.00 dollars and she had a cross country bank mastercard like the one i had but it said insufficient funds. rip off or what. Cross Country Bank ripoff pre-approved credit line increase offered then denied Boca Raton Florida
I obtained a credit card from Cross Country Band in early 2002. I made all payments on time and incurred no late or overlimit fees for nearly a year, then... In December of 2002, I received an offer from them stating that, because I was such a good customer, my credit limit was going to be increased. All I needed to do was cash a check they sent to me to activate the credit increase. I phoned them and asked if it was legitimate. They said yes, just cash the check and I would get the automatic $200 credit increase; which I could use for Christmas presents or whatever I needed it for. I wrote the check to myself; put it in my bank account, and used the money for Christmas gifts. About a week later, I got a notice from my bank that said Cross Country had refused to honor my check. I called Cross Country but the insisted I was not entitled to the increase, even though I had the blank check they had sent me and had called to confirm the credit line increase. They basically said there was nothing I could do. The supervisor would not help either. So, I had to come up with the $200 to cover my bank account, which made me get behind, after which I started missing payments and accruing late fees with Cross Country Bank. I have since called Cross Country Bank, with no luck. They either put me on hold for up to 20 minutes, or disconnect me, or I get tired of waiting and give up. I have actually gotten through to a real person, after which they tell me there is nothing they can do. Ms. No-Name Eugene, OregonU.S.A.

Cross Country Bank serious fee overcharging ripoff Wilmington Delaware
I have had several problems with this bank! The first happened the 2nd month I had the account. I was charged a $32 overlimit fee for being $7 over my limit for a total of 3 days (I had sent in a 2nd payment for the month because I knew I was close to my limit) it took several angry phone calls and letters to get a proper response. Last month, my payment was delayed in the mail, possibly due to the extra holiday mail. I was subsequently charged another $32 fee, but did not complain, because there was no way to prove anything. My total payment due for the month was $67, of which I sent $60. Naturally i was charged another $32. I have since closed the account, and hope that something can be done about them! Thank you! Cross Country Bank fraudulent credit reporting Ripoff Wilmington Delaware
In 1997, I opened a joint credit card account with my live-in boyfriend. 2 years later, we broke up, but he kept the card and did not keep up the payments. In 2003, Midland Credit sent me a collection letter for $1094.57, which I immediately paid in full. I was sent a paid in full letter that clearly states that the debt originally belonged to Cross Country Bank. Now here I am over 2 years later with an entry on my credit report that still states Bad Debt/Collection as the Current Status on two of the three credit bureau reports. They got it right with Transunion- they reported Account sold-Balance 0, but with the other two, every month, they report that it is a current bad debt. I have called Cross Country more times than I know to ask how to resolve this, I have faxed them copies of my receipt, AND I have disputed this with Equifax and Experian so many times that they will no longer let me dispute. It is the only bad mark on my credit reports. I have worked very hard to take my credit score from non-existent to a respectable level in the past 8 years. This has been a hard lesson to learn, and I've learned to take responsiblity and have TAKEN responsibility. So why am I still being wronged month after month after month? When I call Midland, they are rude and say it is not their responsibility to make CCB update my credit report. CCB says that it must be the credit bureaus making the mistake- that all three should be reporting Account sold- balance 0. The credit bureaus won't even let me dispute anymore because everytime they've called to verify, CCB has verified the information as CORRECT! I just don't know what else to do- other than to wait it out until the collection is over 7 years old. Kimberly Phoenix, ArizonaU.S.A.

Cross Country Bank dishonest, fraudulent billing Boca Raton, Florida
This was my first card at the following bank. First of all we never recieved our first bill. We had to call the company they told us that our bill was returned back to the company. We had no clue as to how much we were to send or where to send it to, not to mention what our due date was. The rep told us we had to send in $114.00 by the 29th, which gave us 3 days to get the money together. They never called us to let us know it was returned. Then when we finally got our first bill in the mail, they charged us late fees, overdraft fees, fees that should not have been on the bill. Like a charge for usuing the online service which was $20.00 when the online service was free upon accepting this offer from cross country. So now our limit was $500.00. When we got done paying the $114.00 our available limit was $0.00, now the second month into paying our limit is still overdrawn and we have not used the card since December. This was a Huge mistake and I advise anyone out there - Please do not accept any offers from cross country bank they are a ripoff. Robert myerstown, PennsylvaniaU.S.A.

Cross Country Bank Poor Customer Service Boca Raton Florida
I know that this will accomplish nothing but it is worth a try. This letter has been faxed several times. I have never received a responce. An Open Letter To: Meryl Beard VP Customer Service Fax # (561)994-9829 Re: Acct#: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Mr. Beard, I am writing you this letter to ask for your assistance in a matter with your Bank. I have recently paid off the above referenced account in full. You company placed this account in a charge off status in June 2003. The reason for this is that the person I was a joint account holder with listed another account with your bank in her Bankruptcy. This account was not to be included. I spoke with your customer service department and was told that it is the policy of your company to include all accounts regardless of status. I was able to get this account taken out of the BK, however as a result of being included in the first place, it was past due. At that point your company charged off the account. My thought process is that if you had not placed this account in the BK and had not stopped sending statements there would have been no late payments. I have since paid off the account. I feel that since the account has been paid in full, without settlement that you should work with me in resolving this matter. Removing the trade line from my credit history can do this. My experience wit you customer service department (to this point) has been like pulling teeth. I have been sending faxes and making phone calls with no response from your company what so ever. I would ask that you, yourself respond to me with a resolution to this issue. I feel that my request is fair and not unwarranted. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Regards, Phil Orlando, FloridaU.S.A.
