I purchased a one month subscription to and they keep charging my account.  When I called them, they said they would stop it but I would have to pay for another month as it was renewed as of midnight last night.  I explained that I did not want it renewed and was told I could do nothing about it. My bank has been notified to NOT receive further request for transfers from this company.

I received an email from MyLife and the subject line said this: Some one just searched your email address online Fri, February 25, 2011 6:40:17 PM. Now, I've searched for contact info for old friends from this site before, and they seemed legit, so I followed the directions and went to the site. To access who searched... I was required to subscribe to a membership. Many choices, I picked the one month for $14.95. The fine print said that unless I cancelled before the end of one month, it would automatically renew at the annual rate (total upfront) of $119.40. Well, after following all the directions, I got the answer to who was searching for me: Who's Searching for You™ (0) in NOBODY! When I immediately called the billing dept to cancel my one month membership and demand a refund for the false advertising, I was told that I had selected the $9.95 membership (I did NOT!), and was already charged $119.40 (twelve months worth)! Despite my insistence that was not true, that there should be a $14.95 charge ONLY (month not over, so shouldn't be already automatically renewed) and that amt should be reversed, I was told the amt charged to my credit card was $119.40, and nothing else (no one month membership/$14.95 charge), and the reversal should appear on my statement in 7-10 days. Although I received a confirmation number from Vicky, the billing dept rep,  for the reversal of the charge, you can imagine my doubts of any good faith effort on their part based on the preceding account of their false advertising and credit card fraud.   I've already contacted my bank to block the charge, and have posted this experience to my Facebook status with the request that my friends repost it to theirs in an effort to warn others not to fall victim to the same scam that I did.

in october 2010 i subscribed to mylifereunion in an attempt to find some old friends. i ok'd a one month trial membership for a cost of $15.95. recently i set up online banking to monitor transactions more closely. recently i noticed that i had recieved an overdraft fee due to an automatic withdrawl by mylifereunion. so i then looked into past transaction history, since 10/04/10 and found that mylifereunion had been making withdrawls from my checking account without my permission. i then called mylifereunion attempting to get my money back. upon speaking with customer service rep "jorrel" i was told mylifereunion would refund 3 payments of $15.95 but refused to refund the $34.00 overdraft fee charged to my checking account. though i had expected to see $45.85 refunded to my account iwas only credited $31.90.the actions of mylifereunion are nothing less than "theft"! this company should have to repay the entire $79.85 to my checking account, as they did not have my permission to remove the funds in the firstplace! in addition i would like to add that i was unsuccessful in finding any of my old friends using this site,and did not even use the site for more than 1 week!! it is my opinion that mylife should be forced to close the site and face criminal charges like anyone else would!!! thank you for allowing me the chance to voice my concerns/situation.

The monthly charge for 12 month membership shows as $10.95/mo, not that a yearly subscription charge will be applied to the credit card for a Premium membership that allows you to see all information about a contact.Email sent to me advertising a person I'm trying to locate has replied to your request, website continues to ask for more money to see this information.Ask them to remove my charge and they refuse saying it is non-refundable. I'm out $131.40.I see on the internet this is a company with many deceptive advertising practices.

I was charged monthly of subscription fee...They prompt me to avail of their promo rate for a trial subscription which is to expire in 72 hours. The catch is, the client/customer must disable/discontinue the said trial subscription prior the end of the trial period or it will automatically renew...Is this a fair deal??? They should have send a notice to the client to that effect...i understand, upon doing further reading on the terms and conditions(after receiving my credit card statement of accounts),although it is stated as such, a further notice to the client should have been done...This people should understand that people are too busy to read on such details or they were actually banking on such behavior to make a rip-off... The credit card companies must countercheck with the account owner on the validity of the charges which were automatically charge to the clients' account...

Mylife/ customer service run around Nationiwde California
the first time I contacted cust. serv. the rep. was extremely rude and time the computers were down and they couldn't help me and was instructed to call back in 30 min.I waited 1 hour,called back,was told computers were down for 2 more hours,but the rep. listened to my complaint and told me he could definitely help me out and would call me back when the computers were up.I waited 6 hours and called back and asked when the comp. were fixed huors ago.I explained I was promised a call back and some remedy.Supposedly her supervisor told her to have me email the rep. on the phone and she would give it to her supervisor and they wanted to take care of my delima.Well thats what I did and now it,s 24 hours later and nothing yet.I emailed them 8 days in a row including 3 emails to Jeffrey Tinsley,no one answered.I don't expect to ever see my 36 dollars again,But I will continue to be a thorn in their side for some time.I had to cancel my bank card and now wait for another one in order to keep them out of my bank account.To sum it up,THEY ARE LIARS AND THEIVES,BEWARE..   MyLife (how a scam works) displays a Yahoo logo and other trusted names to make them seem ligament. The tease is a list of actual names of relatives and friends who, trying to reach you (They have far to much information from some where!) You subscribe in order to contact them.    You are shown subscription rates including (a special rate for 3 months). You attempt to see the contact info from the list trying to reach you. You are shown a count and another subscription rate for Unlimited access to the information. Now you are in victim loop!   You want out! You Sucker are given the instructions to opt out and stop a (surprise) reoccurring charge to your account but you can't get there! You are given a customer service number for any problem you might have. You Oh fleeced one call the number where you are offered a Chat line. Do I feel like a dummy and worried about all the info I gave them, where they got info and connections to people you have lost. I had to cancel my card. Who knows what we are actually financing

My life Reunion had charged 95.00$ on my fiance's credit card for something that was not ordered.  I tried to go back to the site to see what in the world could have cost that much!    I couldn't locate it my fiance' had  went to the bank to withdrawl and realized money was missing, so he confronted me . i told him i was charged for something i never ordered. now he has lost his trust in m I'm was glad to have saw this site Rip Off Report or i would have drove myself nuts wondering i hope justice gets done , and get them off!!!! for good !!!

My Life Reunion-Search charged my credit card $26.85 with no authorization.  I have never dealt with or contacted this company in any way.  I have never heard of them until I saw the bill on my credit card statement.Based on all the reviews out there they appear to be a very unscrupulous company - BEWARE!

I discovered a $60.00 charge to my bank account that I had not authorized. I called the company they said they didn't have my e-mail on file but that she would need my credit card number. I did not give it to her and called my bank they said that I will need to file a claim and that I would then need to close that bank account and open another one because they the Mylife people already have the bank account and can continue to charge at will.  What gets me is you walk into the bank and they want you to do everything but strip down to your shorts, but somehow a company on the web can get ahold of your bank account number and actually get by with taking peoples money. I don't get it!

I wanted to find one person we had lost touch with.  I believed I was signing up for only ONE month of service so I could get the report.  I was billed for a whole year!  In advance.  Phone calls were useless. I have disputed the charge through credit card bank.  This is an old Internet scam and I'm sorry to say I fell for it.  Bad me.  Bums, them.  Don't do any business with these guys.

MyLife MyLife is worthless if you want help in removing private information Internet
 MyLife sent me a frightening email claiming there were over 40 internet companies selling my private information. They said I was at high risk for identity theft and they could help make it easy for me to remove my information from these sights, pointing out how many hours of contacting these companies on my own would take countless hours. I applied for their service and was billed immediately.. I began to get regular emails with names of companies selling my information, and was given the option to remove my information. Each time I chose to do this, I was told request to remove sent. Three months after requesting my information be removed, I called MyLife and complained that nothing was happening, that although over 40 requests had been sent out to remove, only one was confirmed by MyLife as removed. Each week MyLife reported that these companies were selling my information, and gave the date a request to remove had been sent on my behalf. I asked what their expensive service was worth if they were not able to do what they promised. I was told that these things take time and that I had not waited long enough. I was assured that progress would be made soon, and that I needed to be patient, so I waited. That was over 8 months ago. Now MyLife reports over 50 companies holding my information, and I'm at very high risk of my identity being stolen. Out of the over 50 request to remove actions taken, still only one confirmed removing my information. Either their service lies and does not request removal, or their requests are ignored and worthless. Either way, all this company has done is worry me constantly, and fill my inbox with growing proof of what they cannot do. I am unable to get my money back because the requests were sent, yet they have no obligation to resend or report that these companies ignore consumer requests. So what is their service worth? Nothing but raising anxiety and giving false hopes. Before I purchased this service, not near as many companies were selling my information and so many more are now. Could MyLife be selling my information to every new service selling private information, so they could report it and appear to be guarding my privacy? I believe so. I not only know their service made promises and ripped me off, I believe they have increased my risk of identity theft. They prey on trusting people by raising fear and appearing as a useful way to help. Beware and block their emails, unless you want your privacy attacked more than ever!

MyLife/ReunionSearch charged  my credit card $60although I never signed up or requested or received any services from them. Until I saw the charge, I had never heard of them. I do use certain genealogy sites so I assume they some how obtained my information from one of these sites. When I requested dispute resolution from my card company, the card company tried to reach MyLife but was unable to do so by phone.

the first person I reached on the phone was very rude and argumentative and I hung up on them.The next person said the computers were don and couldn't help & to callback in 30 mins.I called back in 1 hour and the computers were still downnfor two more hours.I explained my situation and he was very nice and said that he could definitely help me and he took my phone# and said he would call me when the computers were online. After 4 hours I called again and got a very nice lady,I asked when the computers came online and she said quite some time ago,and I explained that the man was supposed to call me back and she apologized and listened to my delima and went to talk to her supervisor.I explained that I had emailed every day for 8 days,3 emails were to founder Jeffrey Tinsley and no one had replied.So the girl told me the supervisor wanted me to e mail the girl who answered my call to and she would give it to her supervisor. that was 24 hours ago and NOTHING!!! Funny that I couldn't email directly to the supervisor.The 36 dollars gone forever,but I will put the word out anyway I can about this scumbags,so I hope it was worth it for 36 dollars !!Also one of the people they said was searching for me was my brother in Israel whom I talk to regularly both by phone and internet.The other people searching for me I have never heard of. I used My life website once to search a phone number a few months ago. I paid th fee at the time and forgot about it. four months later when going through my bank statements I noticed a monthly charge of $8.94 from my bank account up to the date. I called them and asked about these fees. I was told their web site is set for automatic renewal by default unless cancelled!! I think this is a dishonest way of doing business at best if not a ripoff. I will never do any business with these people anymore and would suggest you don't as well!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO: Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E. According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days. If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges. Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent! DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get. And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state. Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth. If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

mylife charged our accout two years after joining for limited sub. Internet
just called the 1-888 number and got our money refunded or so they said winth an authorization number.befor calling we alerted the credit card company to unauthorized use and may have helped.had to do this with a couple of other companies and has always worked. we will see.just read that life lock is affiated with this ware of ancestry .com too. also a part of mylife. and be carefull

mylife reunion debited my account without my autherisation unkown, Other
Can some one help me. On 4 deccember my account was debited for $36.00 us dollars from Mylife *Reunion-search. As i live in Ireland i have never heard of this company or agreed to such payments and have tried on several occasions to find contact details of this company to cancel this debit and find out why they they set it up but have failed as i cannot find the contact details for them!! Who are they and why have they debited my account for something thats based in the USA whilst i live in Ireland and have never heard or seen anything of them til now!!!

My credit card has been charged at least six separate occasions ! None of which were authorized.when i call they are very evasive and say they will cancel my membership. I tell them I DID NOT ASK for a membership they are silent and then say i will be credited but i am still waiting for that! this company needs to be investigated and stopped. they are thieves and should pay!!
