Scentura Creations Inc was promised pay and never recieved it, one of my customers still has not recieved their order 3 months later Atlanta Georgia
I saw the add in the paper for a management training program. I was told to come in for my first interview which consisted of only a few questions and was told that I would be called between 5 and 6 that evening if I was chosen for a second interview. I was called around 5:30 and asked to come in two days later for a second interview. When I got there, there were between 25-30 people in a room and we were lectured for 3-4 hours. We were told that we were not hired as salesmen and that we would be training to take over our own office. After the lecture, the guy interviewing us said that he was going to call out names and that if he called our name, we had gotten the job, to fill out a form that he had and bring it back with us on Monday. On Monday, he was telling us how things were going to work. That we would recieve $175-$250 during our first couple of weeks of training and that our pay would increase after that. Then we were given a box of cologne/perfume to go out and sell. When payday rolled around, we were told that we only got a certain amount of what we sold during the week which completely contradicted what he had said on the first day. I worked for them for almost 2 weeks before I decided that it was cheaper for me to sit at home rather than run all of the gas out of my car carting people back and forth trying to sell their products. I have a customer that ordered cologne from them back in October and still has not recieved their merchandise. I've also learned since then that new owners have taken over the office that I was working for and that one of my managers no longer works for the company and the other is located somewhere else now. Scentura Creations Ripoff Peddling Scam ripoff Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
I just lost a week which may not sound a lot to you but it was a hard and gruelling week. I went in for an interview & the music was loud and the girl was energetic. She then told me she would call me between 5 & 6 to let me know if I was invited back for the second interview. I got a call back the next day (I get the feeling everyone got called back for an interview) and got told I had a second interview on the following thursday along with one of my friends. So we went to the second interview & it sounded like a dream come true. We could quit our jobs that sucked (I was making decent money but they treated their employees like shit) and they seemed to care about their employees and are motivating as hell. They told us not everyone would be offered a position (the position was to open an office and manage a team of distributors). Well...went in for our first day & that night we had to try to sell perfume to our friends and family. The whole week was nothing but selling to freinds and family or people on the street. I'm not a sales woman... I don't do sales and never have. Natalie and Kevin made it seem like it was the easiest thing in the world to do--not even close. They seemed super cool & fun. They had a lot of cool and funny stories as well. They talked about all this money they made but I just didn't see it in what the drove, wore, etc. The funny thing was, only 8 people made it through (I just think the other people were smarter) but by the end of the week, there was only 4 of us (my friend & I included). Yesterday was power pair up day and we had to go out with another manager (they kept saying that once you were a manager, you didn't have to sell the perfume... funny because all of them still were). We were out from 9am until midnight because we had to stay out until we sold 10 (I sold 1). The group I was in got in to a car accident & the manager didn't want to take the one girl to the hospital that said her back hurt... that would cut into merching time. Eventually she went and her husband (who was on the other team) didn't find out any of this until about 4 hours after it happened. We left the girl at the hospital and went to merch some more... when the girl called back to pick her up, the manager said well you'll have to wait. I have obligations to fulfill so I'll be there as soon as I can. I realized quickly that the only thing they care about is sales. Well needless to say, we all showed up today to see if we got paid like they kept saying we would... we didn't. So we worked our asses off for basically nothing (I got paid $30 for the whole week) so we all quit today. It was the worst experience I have ever had--almost seemed like a cult. I advise anyone, don't try's not worth the blood, sweat & tears!!! Tanya Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaU.S.A.

Scentura Creations - Designer Creations RIPOFF SCAM WARNING! SCENTURA NOW OPERATING IN FT LAUDERDALE FL! Sunrise Florida
A warning to all Florida residents: Scentura is now trying to set up their operation in Florida. Their new name is Deisgner Creations, run by John B. Green, Heather Fay and Ken Wulwick. Here's my story, which may look familiar to any who have read these reports. Last week I responded to an ad that read Crazy 28 yr old girl needs help running her business Heather was the one who called me back to come in for an interview. Everything she said souded like a sales pitch, but I figured that she had interviewed so many people and probably had to say the same thing over and over. There was loud techno music playing and the office seemed really shabby for a multi-milion dollar operation. Like others, i was asked the happy or married question. Heather talked a mile a minute, I was so busy trying to process all the things she was teling me that I never had a chance to ask questions of my own. She then asked me to come in for an interview with the regional manager John Green. I was surprised when about 15 other people came in at the same time. When I realised it was a group interview, I just figured that it was a way to save time and tell the qualified applicants all the info at the same time. Just like others who have filed reports on this site, we were promised our own office after training selling their cheap purfume. He promised this was not a scam, he cursed like a sailor, and claimed to be an ex heroin addict who turned his life around because this company gave him a chance. He also informed us of FFAR and of the contest we'd be having Monday night. To earn exra cash and practice our selling technique. He made it sound like he was doing us a favor. We were never asked about work experience, he made it clear he was choosing people who laughed at his jokes and took notes. We were encouraged to ignore the doubts of people close to us, not to ask questons, and to pay $20 for a background check. They claimed to be the 3rd largest manufacturer and distributor of perfume in the US, and that they were expanding from New York. When I went back the next day, so excited from being chosen from what they claimed was hundreds of applicants, I turned in the paperwork for a backgroud check and was given a list of their perfume. I noticed one of the scents John claimed they had created on their own was made by Scentura Creations, which was never mentioned in either interview, although the supposedly fabulous Larry Hahn was. Since I couldn't find Designer Creations on the web, I decided to try searching for Scentura when I got home. You can guess what I found. Hundreds of people across the country who have been put through th same scam they were trying to get me with. I just want to thank those on this site with the balls to tell their story. I was supposed to start training today, but thanks to info I found on this site and others, I've saved myself time, effort and humiliation at the hands of Scentura. FLORIDA RESIDENTS BE WARNED!! THEY PLAN TO OPEN DOZENS OF THESE OFFICES IN THE SUNSHINE STATE! DON'T BE TAKEN BY THEIR SLICK TALK AND FALSE PROMISES! Lucky Tamarac, FloridaU.S.A.

Rhino Management, Larry Hahn,Danny Zinkin, Rhino Enterprises, distributorship for Scentura Creations , Daniel Promised I would be a manager in 6-8 weeks selling perfume. Canoga Park California
I went to two interviews for Rhino Management, which deals with selling perfume. When I called, I asked if the company had a web site. The answer was no. It looked like they were also just moving into their office, so there were no computers or office equipment. The second interview lasted 2 hours with other people whom also got called back. Daniel spoke to all of us and said that it was an entry-level management position and at the end we would be paid $30,000. We would also have our own office somewhere at one of three locations and have people that would be hired to work under us. During training we would be paid a minimum of $450 a week. The training would last in four phases and even if we weren't succeeding we would be moved to the next level. He also spoke about Larry Hahn and the perfume he has created called Attitudes and Emotions. When I received my national screening application, I noticed at the bottom that there would be a $40 processing fee. Also, I got on the computer and googled Larry Hahn because Daniel said that he was on a Forbes list and had made $440 million. There were also sites saying that was no Larry Hahn and the company had been listed under other names. Daniel also mentioned that Larry Hahn would be paying us. I looked up the perfumes and they weren't listed either. After, reading all of this information I realized that they are scamming people. What infuriates me is that everyone needs a job and that these people are taking money from their employees and getting away with it. I'm grateful that I didn't give them my social security number of my driver's license plate, which were included in my screening application. Jennifer Beckley, West VirginiaU.S.A.

Scentura Creations how to possibly stop them, ripoff, deceptive practices, pyramid, scam Oak Forest Illinois
I've been reading the scams perpetrated on this site and came across Scentura Creations (locally known as the Circle Company, i think) and felt like relating a story from a long time ago and what I did about it: First let me make it clear that this was like 10 years ago and some of the details may not be 100% accurate but are 100% factual. Many years ago I became disillusioned with the company I was working for. I was working my tail off, but not feeling the monetary or career satisfaction I was looking for. Then I began to scan the help wanted ads and came across Management positions available, Earn $1000s a week, Team players only Of course an opportunity like this doesn't come along every day, so I jumped on it. The first day they hooked me like they hook most everyone: pictures of company getaways, claims that they were on the Fortune 500 list, why they could sell it so cheap because you can't patent a scent, how much they were making, and the potential he saw in us. Did the meetings, interviews, and got offered the job. I went to my job and talked to the Store Manager and gave my two weeks. When he asked why I was leaving and what I was doing he looked at me and said, Listen, I won't accept your resignation. Instead I am going to put you down to part-time and let you see if that other place is what you really want to do. Thankfully I accepted his generous offer and went to part-time. During the process I started to see the chinks in the armor of the company (I will explain later). I had been in a supervisory position before I went to Scentura and through previous training and experience had a little more awareness to how people speak and what they really mean. I would go out with the group all over God's green Earth to different areas, mostly in Chicago and try to peddle this water. You had the goal to sell like 10 bottles within a week to get promoted to Supervisor with the $500 bonus. Of course it was next to impossible to sell the stuff for $25 to make the $5 profit. Usually you would sell it for cost or a buck or two below so that you could make your boss happy which meant you made no money. On the first weekend I arrived to work and found the door locked so I waited outside the building for the bosses. When one of them arrived he unlocked the door and we went in. The metal cabinet that held the perfume and money was broken into. The boss started to flip out and went right to the money box and stated that someone had taken all the money. I said that he should call the police and the boss literally blew it off. I had studied crime scene investigations in college and began to check for points of entry or exit. I found nothing unusual nor any pry marks on the doors or windows. Also the fact he didn't want to report a burglary made it more disturbing. The big break I got was the second weekend they told us we could take the perfume home to sell at like $17 cost. Luckilly for me there was a huge sporting event that weekend (Mike Tyson or the Super Bowl) and my buddy and I always threw these huge parties with lots of alcohol. I cleaned up by selling most of the water I had and got promoted the next week. During that same time I had a girlfriend who worked for Arthur Andersen do some investigative work on both Circle Company and Scentura Creations. She called me one day and told me under no certain terms to get out of the company and fast. The research she did produced a lot of deceptive things. After the break-in and the info from her I quit and went back to my old job. Below are the things I found unusual and were key reasons I left, also the reason to possibly stop them is below: RED FLAG #1: The first thing I noticed is that they were based out of Atlanta, GA. If you pay attention to infomercials and those too good to be true offers, they mostly are based out of Atlanta, GA. Why? I don't know, but it is true. RED FLAG #2: The independent contractor agreement. Once you do that it indemnifies them from liability from you. You don't make any money, that is your problem not theirs. RED FLAG #3: The break-in. The acting job the boss did seemed to rehearsed. And the fact he did not want to report it was more disturbing. RED FLAG #4: The main boss' residence. I know this may sound silly but I noticed that where he said he lived, the village sticker in his window, and the mail that was in his car were three different addresses in three different towns. Why move so much? RED FLAG #5: The salary guarantee. It's is only applicable if your people sell X amount of perfume. Which when you figured it out is actually less than if you didn't sign the guarantee. AND FINALLY BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY RED FLAG #6: Their business license. All businesses are required to have a business license. This was the achilles heel of the one I was at. It's money that they have to put up out of their pocket and then they have to report their operations to the city they are in. Most of these types of business' don't want that so they will just fold up and run to the next town. I hope this helps. Scott Lansing, IllinoisU.S.A. Scentura Creations AKA Mystic Management ripoff Pyramid Scam Torrance California
Scentura Creations AKA Mystic Management (This ad was taken out of The Daily Breeze today) JOB DESCRIPTION (Reference No. 36818) RECEPT/ASST MGR New Co needs staff, fun/motivated people ASAP. No exp nec. Casual environ. Call Kim 310-791-5898 STATUS Regular Full-time Seems like a great opportunity, huh? I thought it was too when I called and they asked me to come in for an interview that very day. I drove to the hard to find office that turned out to be a hole in the wall office. There was no office furniture other than a desk and a phone. I could barely understand what the girl at the desk was asking me to do because they had rap music blaring in the background. They were using patio chairs as seats for everyone. No one in the office was over twenty-five. I feel so stupid now looking back upon it, but I was desperate for a job and money. All I was told during the first interview that it was a management job and that I would be making 30k a year. My interviewer went as far as to break it down by how much I'd make hourly and by week. By that last statement, I was under the impression that this was a salary job; I was even told that there were benefits. It had to be too good to be true, but they told me that they wanted me to come to a second interview. I figured I come and check it out. I returned a few days later for a second interview and I sat for the next three hours listening to what Scentura Creations supposedly was. At the end they picked the best of the best to sign on and join the company. The first day of work we were given a contest. The person to sell the most would receive $800. Everyone busted their asses to sell the most and the next day they told us because we didn't reach the group goal, the contest was void or some crap. They kept you on day by day by giving you $20, $40, or $50 bonus' for going out on the streets and selling this perfume. I'll cut to the chase because I can go on and on about these guys: Scentura Creations and Mystic Management is nothing but a Pyramid Scheme. Sure, you don't have to buy in but I promise you, you're never going to become a manger or an owner. You're never going to get your own office. I lasted four weeks. I was told that we went through different stages of training so you can learn how to run an office but all we did all day was drive around in MY CAR and sell perfume. The only thing I was learning was to take rejection better. No one wants to buy this product it's FAKE. I'll leave you with a few things: Geiger, Camilla, or Kim will state that Scentura has a clean credit record and a spotless record with the BBB. This is entirely untrue. How they can say this and get away with it is because Scentura has a spotless record with both agencies because all of their branches are independent contractors which means Larry Hahn has all of his distributors sign a contract making them independent thus keeping his company name spotless and safe from being prosecuted. If this were a real job, why haven't you been asked to fill out a W2? It's because it's a 100% commission job. You WILL NOT receive a weekly paycheck. When it was my turn to start training new employees I was told to not let them talk alone at all. This was to keep them from talking about whether this could actually be a scam or not. I also learned that this is why they keep the rap music up on max volume, so you can't hear and talk to other people. If you have any other questions, go to this page: David Lomita, CaliforniaU.S.A.

Scentura Creations - Kendal Managment Ripoff SCAM ARTISTS & FAST TALKERS TAMPAtampa Florida
I went to Kendal Management yesterday to apply for an administraive position. At that time, there was extremely loud disco music playing and a so called meeting going on in the room behind me (with more noise) and the girls working there were extremly relaxed and dress very casual. I thought it was kind of odd that music would be playing so loud you can hear it outside. I met with one the girls after filling out a getting to know you sheet. She was very nice but a fast talker. She was very clear as to state she didn't know any particulars about the job such as salary, benefits and vacations. She did mention to me that I should call her in a half hour to see if I was wanted to come back for a second interview at that time to meet her boss. I then went home and didn't call. After about an hour they called me to say that I was someone that they were looking for. I went on my second interview today and was told all the particulars. 8 week training can make it to 4 weeks. they want motavated people and there was not only me but about 25 people in one room. When we first got there the music again was blasting to the point you couldn't hear yourself think. Finally they boss came in and was a fast/smooth talker as well. He also said that he hoped we didn't mind him using vulgar language. He proceeded to tell about the job, but in my opinion was still very vauge about that responsiblities we were expected to have. I came home after discussing this whole thing with my husband, searched the internet and thank goodness i did. I had a bad feeling something wasn't kosher about this whole setup. The address on the door was the only thing. Nothing said Scentura Creations. I happend to look over at something on the wall and wrote it down. Good thing I did. They wanted to have me come back and welcomed me a board and start Monday. Guess what - I won't be a part of this. I have too much to loose. I hope that someone reads this and too decides not to do this. Maybe not only will people stop applying but they will be shut down for scamming people. Thanks. Ronda TAMPA, FloridaU.S.A.

Fashion Scents - Scentura Creations SCAM!!!!!!!! Upland California
OK ! So I found this listing on Craigslist for manager positions (entry level no experience required)...... I call and the girl (Alex) sets up an interview for the frst day... I Go to the interview and the second I walk in the room I get a weird feeling..... The walls are painted ass backwards colors, Loud music, Alex is on the phone cussing (I found this to be very unprofessional). So she takes me in for the interview and basically goes through the process with me BAM BAM BAM! I didn't get in a word otherwise!! I had to actually ask what the name of the company was before I left.... She sets up a 2nd interview for the following thursday. Im excited of course even though I have some uneasy feelings in my stomach. (Another thing I noted was that she kept answering the phone with different names). SO I go to the 2nd interview on thursday (they tell me to be on time and bring a notebook). Then tis guy michael goes through a 2 1/2 hour long spill about the business.. 6-8 week training, profit from sales' your own office, they set up a savings account for you, etc. It all sounded a bit off. But I think cus I wanted it to work so bad that I kinda just ignored my instincts and figured it was al for a reason.... Almost everyone in the interview was ghetto like they just came out of Compton. They were ALL kids. AND another thing was that they asked what kind of car you drove and for your license plate number???????? WTF?? So Michael talks about how he has this and that, vacations, mercedes, blah blah blah.... Very convincing I might add. So afterwards he tells me that I was selected and I can start on monday. Needless to say I went home and my father smelt something fishy so we looked it up and found all of these reports... GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!! ITS A SCAM!!!! WHEN SOMETHING SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT IS!! I'm just glad I figured it out before I went back..... Ide like to scam him just for waisting my damn time!!!!!!! World Fragrances Scentura Creations RIP-OFF MLM SCAm San Francisco California
This happened back in Feb. 1995. I was living in San Francisco, CA back then. I was desperate for a job at the time. I went to the office which was South of Market Street. I wore a suit and tie and everything. The First day you're told it's Scentura Creations. it's supposed to be Fragrance replicas. You're told that if you're hired you'll be running a fragrance store location. Then you're told about FFAR (Friends, Family and Relatives). You're told to try to sell it to your friends and family etc. That was the first day. I never went back, realized what it was at that point. What a waste of my time, when I could have been pounding the pavement for a legit job. Then four years later in 1999 I was living in Denver, Co working at a call center, and a fellow associate told me about it, she was trying to sell it. Then she told me I didn't have to buy anything, I think she figured out she didn't have it in her to schlock that crap. I can't believe this company still exists. And to date I have never seen any of these so called stores. John Garner, North CarolinaU.S.A.

Scentura Creations Or East City Advancement ripoff, scam, Nashville Tennessee
The first time that I saw the ad in the paper, I was excited. It stated that they were looking to fill management positions and loving hip hop music was a plus. I figured the job had something to do with music. Soon, I became very disappointed. When I went to my first interview I was shocked to see the part of town the business was in. When I walked in the doors all you could hear was the very loud music they had playing. The managers were dressed very unprofessionally. The mouth on the man who conducted my interview didn't offend me personally; however, I was floored at the type of language he continued to use in such a professional setting. When the interview began he asked me not to try to impress him or act all professional because he would be interviewing and hiring based on my attitude. All the things he said sounded good. He answered all my questions and I didn't have any reason to be concerned, until I came back 2 days later for my second interview. When I went back the second time I had my group interview by the most unprofessional people I have ever met. Again, most of these people were dressed like they were attending a party after work. The manager continued with the colorful language during the interview for so long that after a few minutes it became tiresome. He explained in great detail how we can make sales and distribute the product to our customers: 1. Wholesale for resale. 2. Employees of companies we visit. 3. Promotions and fundraisers. 4. Established re-order customer and clientele. 5. Parking Lot sales 6. Word of Mouth. At the end of the interview he gave us all a piece of paper that asked for information like my social security #, my driver's license #, and my car make and model and license plate #. I gave some of the information but now I wish I hadn't. After doing more research on the company and the owner, Larry Hahn, I found that many people have had experiences similar to mine. I'm glad I did this research and found this information before I quit my existing job. Amanda smyrna, TennesseeU.S.A.

Scentura Creations ripoff scam, will tell you about $$$ but you never see any Houston Texas
So, I was looking for a job. And I looked in the classifieds for a decent job. I'm 16 and married and well I dont go to school but I'm very smart and very good with computers. So I find an ad stating that there's management entry-level postions and to call a number. Unluckily i dont have th enumber to provide. So I called. I was told to show up to an office for an interview. I went dressed somewhat proffesional to find a long line of people waiting for an interview. I was a little discouraged because these people looked very elegant and i'm just a young girl. The interviews were fairly quick and the interviewer tried to be outgoing and told me that the job consisted of selling our very goor product that people everywhere wanted. She said that people get their own offices and you would manage another group of people. She told me to show up for a 2nd interview later on in the afternoon. This 2nd interview was more like a gathering where we met the boss A very good looking hispanic male in his early 20's. He told us how he has his mercedes and how his boss thought him how to do what we're doing and how this company is a big giant family and at the end of the year we would be making close to 60,000 dollars a year if no more. Sounds pretty good. Well comes out, these guys were those ppl that come out in car washes or gas stations to offer you original perfumes in tester bottles. The perfumes are supposed to be original. But they're no. They teach ou at the company how to lie to people and tell them they're original and to make up a story about how we get our hands on them. Well, I stayed there for three weeks thinking i might make something out of it. Every day you were sent out with a group of you co-workers in your car wasting your gas to go sell to people on the streets. The first week it was cool, if you didn't sell any bottles it was fine, but after the 1st week, if you came back at the end of the day emptyhanded you were told you had to stay after 5 and work until the job got done, meaning you had to sell the damn bottles. What the hell, most people here in houston have been stopped by the same people that are selling these so-called original perfumes. So most people already know they're just cheap imitaitions. After tiring nights of working and not getting paid one cent, i quit. O yeah the pay was like this. You were given a set # of bottles each day. The # of bottles you didn't bring back with you you had to turn in $20 for. What they tried to get us to do was to sell these bottles for $40 or more, so we turned in 20 and the rest we kept as comission. But who would pay more than 10 for those rip-offs. So you see, it's a huge scam. Most people quit eventually. aND FUNNY THING WAS THAT MY MOM AND MY HUSBAND TOLD ME IT WAS A RIP OFF. Wendy Houston, TexasU.S.A.

Scentura Creations A total scam left me jobless Ripoff Mira Mesa California
I am writing this report to warn people of a complete scam that I fell for. There is an ad in the paper stating Help for office work for fashion place. I called, went in, invited to the second interview and then hired. I was starting the following monday and they told me I had to quit my job that I couldn't give a two weeks notice because it didnt matter. They also told me to not tell anything to my parents and family members because they were not going to believe how much money I was going to make. I was so excited thinking I'm going to own my own office in 5 weeks. I told my boyfriend and he said it sounded fake we would get in a lot of fights because he was trying to tell me that its was a pyramid scam. I ignored him. Valerie the executive gave the meetings and brainwashed our heads with bullshit. She said we were getting paid for training that we would receive weekly checks and that after the training program for branch manager we will start at BASE PAY 52,000. The first two days were just information days on how to sell those fake parfumes. On the third day valerie gave a talk on words to say and not to say when your out there selling and made us sign papers but no w2 forms which is weird if your supposed to be getting base pay. I went along with my two trainers and started selling those fake perfumes in front of home depot. I didn't get it it was so embarrassing I thought I am supposed be trained to be a manager. When I got back I started to ask a lot of questions and everyone tried to ignore my questions or say You will get that information later. There was another new person there with me and we started having doubts and questions as if this was real. The other girls saw us talking and went and said what are you guys doing your not supposed to be talking to eachother, go back in the room That room had loud rap or techno music playing all the time so we wouldnt have the chance to talk to anyone and ask questions. I went home that night and thanks to my boyfriend who found this website I would have still been there thinking that I'm going to have my own business that would of never happened. Scentura Creations is going to keep ruining peoples lives making them go broke while at the same time loosing loved ones. The only thing I can do is spread the word. Watch out please don't fall for this! Other weird stuff that went on that did not make sense was there was no branch manager in that office only the owner of the whole thing Doug and the executive Valerie if we are training to be a branch manager where was he or she in the office? Valerie assigned a contest on the first day on selling as many parfumes and colognes as we could. Valerie said 5 bottles=50$, 10 bottles=100$, 15 bottles=150$. I sold 15 and got nothing this information was in all our notes and when I asked about it she said thats not what she said. they have a contest the first day of training, The First day, and they say if you sell 21 bottles you get to skip a week of training, isint a week of getting trained as a MANAGER crucial in a job that seeks a dedicated position as a manager that is a big responsibility, well anyways this contest is so selfish and deviant it gives me chills to know some one can be so low leveled in life, they know you will ask your friends and family first, and they know if you quit that they made a quick buck off of you on the first day actually not a quick buck a GRIP a feww hundred i might say, and think when you quit new young kids of the only natural gift god blessed us with BEING NIEVE is going to go home and ask the hearts of their mothers etc.. for money so no matter what they WIN. J & R Inc; Scentura; J & R Wholesalers ripoff; scam - hired for MANAGEMENT TRAINING, not what they provide Tampa Florida
My husband, Charlie, who had been out of work planning for our adoption, applied for several jobs in the newspaper a few weeks ago. Our intent: to earn extra money for the airfare to Kazakhstan to complete our adoption process. One of the jobs he was hired for was a management training job where he was told after 4-6 weeks he would get his own business. Being provided with an office, ads to hire staff and running fees for 1 month. He was told that no selling would be involved - yet he would have to peddle product in gas station & mall parking lots the first week for practice...but eventually, he'd have staff to do it. During training, he was told he would get $400/week plus any bonuses. Reading through all the SCENTURA CREATIONS rip off reports really hit home. Cause, yes, at first you have to practice on your family & friends...My husband did just that selling 16 bottles the first time around. He was having trouble and Jose told him that if he sold 7 bottles, he would be paid bonus as if he sold 15 bottles. He later found out since he did sell 16 bottles, he was going to be paid the bonus for 26 - which was $150. They went out in groups to peddle, and the first tiem the old guy gave him $3 in gas for 6 hours of driving; another day they went out he got $5. All bottles Charlie sold, $20 went to the company and anything else, (minus shipping to the relatives in other states) would go to Charlie. But later, he would pay some where between $9 and $11/bottle (which would make a good wholesale: business to business or selling perfume on-line business). Two days later Charlie sold another 10 bottles...and through contests won: DINNER WITH THE BOSS AT A RESTAURANT OF CHARLIE'S CHOICE; $50 bonus and the honor of throwing a pie in an old dog's face. On this day, we also learned that he wasn't getting paid on Saturday - and it was the next Saturday. He went to work that Friday, and after the meeting, he went home and called many businesses to get them to put the perfume in their stores. Unfortunately, even though, it appears from the reports that Jose, his boss, was getting the bottles for $9-11/bottle - Charlie still had to pay $20 so it's difficult to sell wholesale. Charlie felt selling them for $15/bottle when 15 were ordered would be a good thing. I think that the rest goes into a fund for people cause they, supposably, set you up with 1rst month's rent on an office, 1rst month's electricity, etc... We got more leary and instead of looking the company up as Observe L'Essence, we looked it up as SCENTURA...Saturday a friend of ours went in with Charlie to help give his opinion as to if J & R INC was a scam...Jose talked to both of them, and told Charlie and our friend he would be getting his $400 in training plus $200 in bonus the following Saturday, whether he stuck around or not...he also told Charlie if he was uncomfortable with peddling the product in gas stations etc, he didn't have to do it...he then told Charlie he could take the rest of the day off and decide if he wanted to stick with it. On Monday, he went in for the meeting and then when everyone else was peddling, he was going to leave pick someone up at the airport and then go home to make more calls or go out visiting busineses...he did just that...but the meeting started late. He returned to the office for the nightly meeting. Tuesday, he was told he didn't have to peddle - but needed to drive around people that were peddling - he got about $13 to drive them around this time... One night, he thought he might peddle again, and ended up getting mugged...and when he told them the next day, they told him to go home... Today he calls saying he is taking others out peddling again, but wasn't sure how much gas he was going to get. While I was talking on the phone (cell phone) to my husband, Raul (the R in J&R) got on the phone and didn't introduce himself at first...and basically told me that Charlie must think it's OK to drive other's around for meager gas funding because he keeps showing up...then he introduced himself. I called into the office to speak with Jose to ask him to make me feel comfortable about the whole thing and Raul took over the phone....I explained my situation and scared feelings asking for reassurance, and asked him why peddling was so wasn't even sales...telling him Charlie wanted to run a legitimate business, not one with people peddling on the street. Booths in flea markets, wholesale to nail salons & general stores, and most importantly an on-line version...but how can you do that buying product for $20/bottle... I asked him how this was management training - and if this wasn't a sales job - why were they doing nothing but peddling. I told him that Charlie won't be peddling anymore and that he'd be in Friday to get his $600 - $200 in bonus and $400 for training...I was told by Raul that he might get the $200 in bonus, but there was no $400 training and that it wouldn't be this Saturday, it would be next and Charlie wouldn't get the whole thing cause he missed most of the week...I told him I wasn't talking about this week, I was talking about last week...and I was then told there is no $400 in training. I also told him that Charlie was selling on the phone to businesses not in the street but he was still working many hours in the name of selling perfume...but what I mainly cared about was that he got his $600... I mean there is no dinner...Jose told Charlie on March 25 that dinner would be the following week and Charlie said he wanted to go to Charley's Steakhouse...but no date was ever set...that is another $100+ he earned in a dinner as a bonus that we'll never see. This whole situation makes me uncomfortable from the 25th till now...cause on the 25th, Jose told him that when they referred to him getting paid on Saturday - it was the following Saturday. And today Raul is telling me it's not tomorrow it's the next and there is no $400. They have no hand outs or anything printing with letterhead...they make rookies take notes...and Charlie has all the notes from all the classes...They have his social security number and our address and I am scared they will show up. I spent over a week worrying every minute he was with these people...this week he was sticking around just to see if he got paid and to see if they could prove they were real... You don't tell someone they are getting $400/week in training pay when they don't...and you don't tell them you are management training when all you do is get new people to peddle products in the street and practice on their loved new meat... My husband felt so good about himself when trying to set up his new business...and he will run an on-line business. He is partnering with a friend of his...but this isn't the company to get started with...I saw some people in his training class...they were young kids (most probably still living at home - I even saw parents drop some of them off) - they came from hardly anything from what I can tell - the type of people who didn't feel it beneath them to peddle...not knowing that there are better ways to make money... We lost about $100 in the endeavor through mailing out perfume and buying 5 bottles for ourselves to sell later...but more importantly Charlie turned down a real job for this and missed out on 2 weeks of looking for a job....not to mention the $600 we thought we were getting - it doesn't look like we are getting. I want my husband to get what he we can reinvest it in a real business buying wholesale stock from a legitimate company. Amy & Charlie Tampa, FloridaU.S.A. Designer Concepts/Scentura Creations deceptive company-another Scentura Creations Scam Oak Forest Illinois
This company is full of s***!!! They placed an ad in the local newspaper looking for Receptionists. When you respond to the ad they ask you to come in that day. When u go in they tell you that the receptionist position only pays $6/hour but that they have manager and assistant manager positions available. Of course they know you can't do anything with that little bit of money so you will be interested in the manager and assistant manager positions. I applied for the assistant manager position and was hired. When I attended the orientation on Sept.3, 2002 they had us fill out a background check form. They then proceeded with the so called orientation. They informed us that there would be a 60-90 day training program. During training you would make money from bonuses, commissions and incentives-no hourly wage, but you would be working Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm and Sat 10am-1pm. That day they also told us we had 24hours to sell their imitation designer fragrances to our friends and family members. You would only get a bonus if you come back with 5-10 sales. They also did not give us any samples. They also promised that everyone would have their own office and 10-15 sales people under them after training was finished. Well after doing some research on the internet about their main company Scentura Creations I realized this is all a lie!! You wind up selling imitation perfume on the streets. You never get any sales people under you, and you actually become the sales people for the managers that recruited you. There is also no receptionist position, like they advertised! I think this company is a total fraud and fortunately I got out that day and never returned. But they did call me back that evening to tell me that my background check came back ok. That's funny to me because a background check usually takes 2-3 weeks sometimes even longer, but never a couple of hours! So I don't think they even did one! I still don't think they should collect people's personal info and claim to do a background check and not do it. I don't trust them at all that's why I had a fraud alert placed on my info. This company should be shut down and stopped from misleading people who are in need of real employment. I emailed the newspaper they advertised in but never received a response. If anyone encounters this company in a job search run like hell and don't look back unless you want to be broke! I hope this helps people from making the same mistake I did. Reading the stories of what happened to others with this company really made me glad I got out when I did. For more information on how this company has scammed people world wide just go to search on your browser and type in Scentura Creations, it will give you a ton of information. Scentura creations WG Management BEWARE OF SCENTURA CREATIONS/ WG MANAGEMENT THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!!! Brooklyn , New York
Well let me start off by telling you, if you're in the 4-7 week training program at Scentura Creations please, please, please...  get out now while you still can. They'll suck you in with ads such as; Brand new office looking to fill every position from customer service to manager, or 18-25 people needed for new business location IMMEDIATE HIRE CALL NOW!! Here's my story I answered their ad via craigslist, a young lady answered the phone as if she was born with an energizer battery infused into her spine. Later I identified her as Asia Robinson the regional coordinator I told her that I was interested in the customer service rep position, she asked if I'd like to work P/T or F/T. I told her I was interested in F/T and she informed me that they were holding interviews that week and to come in the next morning and to dress sharp. The following day when I found the location I would have to admit there were some red flags because first off the address that I was given belonged to a dentist's office. When I walked through the door there was another door which was pretty beat up with a missing doorknob with a paper taped to it stating the office was on the third floor. Hmm...ok another red flag, after climbing three flights of stairs there was another door which had WG Management spray painted onto the door. The floor behind the door is so damaged that it does not even open fully, the waiting area consists a narrow cubicle like room with eight chairs four lining both adjacent walls. flag# 3 I was then approached by Ms. Desire and given an application to fill out, there where odd questions like How much money would you like to make per week? And would you say you're money driven? Ms. Desire called me into her office which was about the size of a closet and interviewed me for about 10 mins. She told me that scentura creations had been around for 33 years and that within the position that I'd applied for I'd be getting paid $576.92 a week there was room for growth and that I'd eventually be in charge of 15-20 people , that I'd hiring/firing and interviewing people on a daily basis and is that something I would be interested in? No red flag there lol, I was ecstatic! She told me to call back around 345 to find out if I'd been selected for the second interview, i thanked her wished her a good day and walked out. I called back and yes I was selected for a second interview and they wanted me to come back in about 2 days time in the morning. I showed up bright and early there were about three other individuals present at the time. As we got closer to the time of the scheduled interview more and more people began to show up it reached a point where we literally could not fit in the room. I estimated there were about 40 people but it turned out to be 30 go fig!! Red flag #4 we were led to another room where there was a very cheap white board nailed to a wall and there was rap music blasting (very odd). We found our seats and thats when Tory Gates walked in, he greeted us and introduced himself as the regional director and then he let us know that if we had bad attitudes that he would not select us to work with him. We were also told that if we didn't smile within the 2 hours we were going to be there that we would not be chosen. We were told about Larry Hahn and we were made to copy down the rules and regulations and terms and conditions which someone kindly pointed out to me later on that most companies just hand you a copy with your application. Mr. Gates went on to explain that we would have to endure 4-7 weeks of hands-on PAID training. We were to receive 100.00 by the second week and 450.00 when we had completed our training. 2 hours of horse playing and bad joke telling later, Mr. Gates proceeded to make his selections and he explained that if you were selected you would receive a background check form . He insisted that we tell the truth about getting arrested (if we had ever been). We were also informed that if we didn't tell the truth that we'd immediately forfeit our employment within the company. He then started to make his selections I was thrilled to be selected, I was led to Ms.Desire who told me to bring the form back on Monday. Monday morning I show up with my Sunday best on, to be greeted by about 15 people crowded into that tiny waiting area SCREAMING good morning at me like they've lost their minds. As more people started to show up we were required to answer to roll call by answering to our names and following it with I'm on fire. (thats 2 red flags 5 & 6) Once again we were led to our training room equipped with our notepads and pens, where we were made to copy down more items that should have come with our applications. Mr. Gates then pointed out to us how few of us had made it through the selection. He informed us that the reason for that was because many people had lied on their background check forms. We spent another 2 hours writing with no break for lunch or anything.  The following day we were introduced to Mr.Gross who looks like he's old enough to be my older brother and I'm 24. Supposedly he was an executive owner he claimed as he stood before us with his cheap short tie, over sized blazer, and extremely cracked and worn church shoes. He proceeded to tell us about how he used to work on wall street and he was an english major. This I found hysterical because the poor fool couldn't even spell rules in his mind it was spelled ROOLS lmao. He went on to explain about bonuses and promotions and thats where everyone started to catch on. We were told by Mr.Gross that if we sold 5 bottles of perfume we'd make $15.00 if 10 we made 25 if 20 we made 50 and over that we went to dinner with the big bosses (Asia & Tory). Many people started to object because like me they were told that they were going to be managers. No one had heard about this so called contest,  no one said anything about selling perfume Mr.gross then proceeded to tell us to refer to our notes that everything that we needed to know should be there. Some people became angry with him for brushing them off which is what he did. Mr.Gross unsmoothly tried to avoid answering any questions directly he seemed flabbergasted that NYC had so many smart people. He could not tell us is if it was REQUIRED for us to sell the product in order to be promoted and he could not tell us if it was A REQUIREMENT in order for us to finish our training. He started getting upset and sent someone to fetch Asia Robinson to answer our questions who immediately refused to talk to us as a group and started to talk to people on a one-on-one basis. I guess when she realized that there were about 10-12 people still waiting to speak to her then she gathered up her nerve and spoke to us directly. Ms. Robinson then reassured us that this was not a commission based job and that we would not be required to sell perfume at anytime, we just needed the knowledge of how to do so in order to become managers. We asked what would become of us if we could not sell any perfume and she claimed that there was no such thing and that we would receive help with that part if we desired it. We were handed packets with lists of perfume on it, and price lists ironically everything was priced at 24.95. We were told to come back with money not just names, also to ask our family and friends to donate lol donate to our cause. No one in my family wanted to buy anything from them because they had no idea what the perfume looked like. When I conveyed this information to my superiors I was told that they (meaning the public) can see the pictures of the perfume on the front of the packet. Well i'm going to wrap this up now point blank, these Managers, Trainers, Executive Owners, Owners, Regional managers are all jokes. If you're from NYC particularily Queens you'll see these jokers all the time, standing around ON THE STREET begging people to buy their fake imatation garbage. They got me for two weeks don't let them get you too. By the way Mr.Gross can always be seen in front of Queens Center Mall until about 7-8pm at night.....executive owner my asparagus!!

Excellence Enterprise Scentura Creations Inc. ripoff, SCAM, Stay Away, you will never get an office, big fat illusion that will ruin your life if you get sucked into their lies Union City New Jersey
This company is a big fat illusion that will ruin your life if you get sucked into their lies. They will paint a pretty picture and tell you how you will be making so much money if you go threw the 6-8 weeks of training. They will tell you everything except once upon a time. I almost fell for it until I got curious and looked up the name of the so called president of the company. I was promised an office and $30,000 a year. They said I could name my company anything I wanted. I went on 2 interviews and was chosen to start training. When I went on the first interview I couldn't find the place because there was no sign on the door. It was a plain warehouse looking building. There was loud music playing. I noticed that there were three rooms. One room with a desk and a phone, one room filled with fold out chairs, and the waiting room with a small desk and phone. There was no computer, no fax machine, no file cabinets. Then I started to think how could a buisness survive without these things. I was called back for my second interview and i was told to bring a notebook to take notes. One of the managers went on and on about the company and how they were expanding and was in need of new managers. When I researched more i found over 20 websites about horror stories about this scam. It is happening all around the world. There are about 170 reports on this web site that will tell you the same thing. Click search and type Scentura and see for yourself. Don't fall for it. I was lucky that I was curious enough to research the so called president before i went to far. The name of the company where I was supposed to work for is called Excellence Enterprise in Union City, New Jersey. The branch managers there are Grisel Martinez and Crystal Martinez. AZURE ENTERPRISE - SCENTURA CREATIONS Enterprise, Scentura Employment SCAM to sell knock-off perfumes as brand name St. Louis, Missouri
After sending a resume in for a cutomer service positon I received a call from a very pushy young woman for an interview.  We scheduled the interview for the same day within a few hours (no time to prepare)  I couldn't find this United business at the address I was given on line.  Last year I received somewhat of the same speil and had an uneasy feeling.  I got there and there was no sign on the door as last year and dust on the bookcase that had been there for awhile.  I thought I would go through with the interview and as I suspected it was the same business as the interview I had last year under the name of Enterprise.  When asked if I would be interested in the positon I said no and grabbed my resume and application (which is a joke by the way) and walked out the door.  The young man asked for the application back (he had written his name on it).   If you will look at previous reports on these people you will see the illegal practices they promote to sell their knock-off perfumes out of trucks on malll parking lots.  I'm sure by now, only 2 hours later they have already packed up and moved to another location.  I called the BBB and was tols to leave my number for a statement because they had already had complaints.  These people will never learn.

Scentura Creations - SCI - CSI Promised large salary, got 100% commission and nearly arrested several times. Charlotte North Carolina
Last year I was in desperate need of employment, I'd seen an advert in the Charlotte Observer Classifieds for a couple of years now and decided What's the worst that can happen? A janitor at a strip club? The ad read similar to this: **WANTED** Happy, energetic people with a desire to have fun Call Roxie 704-555-5555 Lo and behold, they claimed to be a marketing company. I've been burned by a REAL marketing company and a fake solicitation marketing company before, so I inquired. I was given all kinds of facts and numbers and of course promises. 30-75K a year, all just for having a great attitude and showing perfume to people. After a rather short interview process, I was asked if there were any concerns. I said that as long as I wasn't going to be hanging out in parking lots or knocking on doors, I had none......For the next two weeks of Manager's training I was hanging out in parking lots all over North Carolina, trying to push knock off perfume (albeit pretty good knock offs) on the worst of humanity's rejects. Brian and Diana (owners of the local branch) and Denny (claiming to be from a Chicago branch) kept trying to inspire me to do better. After two weeks I sold 4 bottles and made 5 bucks. I had spent over $250 on hotels and food and another 200 on gas. I was flat broke. I called in and told them I was done. I had no more money for gas or food and no more time to waste on them. I had later on met with another person who was from a New Orleans branch and he told me that each and every person that comes through is lied to. There's no chance to make a higher position without proving you can lie nicely. We even practiced lying to each other one day now that I think about it. the FNP's are used to push bottles until they're weary. If they are able to push bottles without lying they are fired. They want liars to hire more liars. Honest people are treated like crap in this pyramid scheme. If you get sucked into this scheme, due to desperation or dishonesty, please keep looking for another job, and DO NOT go on blitzes or fun cars. That's where you plus one or two others and a veteran (in my case it was always Denny) go across the state and YOU pay for gas, and YOU buy the veteran's food, while HE flirts with the night maid at a dingy motel until she gives him a room key. Empire Wholesale - Scentura Creations - Epiphany Scents -RIPOFF Door to Door bullsh**ers Downey California
Okay so i seen the ad in the Penny Saver, ATTN! I NEED PEOPLE! Asst. Managers/Receptionist. New office needs total staff. No exp necessary. Start tomorrow. Have Fun Make $$$$. So i called and got my interview everything seemed okay. So after the first interview, i went home to go do a little research on the company and realized that there business cards did not have a web address. So i put in Epiphany Scents Inc. The first thing to pop up was Scentura Creations Scams,(Not knowing yet that they are the same company) read a little but did not find Epiphany Scents. So come the next interview while he was try to sell his company to all of us, he finally gave us there web address and i noticed that it was, as soon as i realized it was the same company, he then began to tell us how there are going to be ex-employees talking a bunch of bull on the net and to listen to any of it. Oh and that when we go home to talk about this job to our families that they might be against it. Yea that right there got me thinking. But i went ahead and showed up there today but i got there early and there was another manager there so i started to talk with him and asked him about this company. Is this company good or is it bulls**t? he replied while cutting me off with How old are you? 21 i told him, well by the time your 35 you'll be a millionaire! Then it was time for my real question. So do you guys sell door to door, and business to business? He replies with Ummm...i can't answer that, I'm not allowed to, you should ask them and just do everything they tell you. OKAY!? Yea sorry don't think so! If this company is so good and i can become a millionaire then why is there such a big secret?? Well you know what they say If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is! M downey, CaliforniaU.S.A.

International Design/ Scentura Creations - World Perfume ripoff scam artists check it out Shelby Twp. Michigan
I worked for International design for three days. How it all started was...i answered a ad in the paper for fun and crazy office management. I thought cool..if not management may something else, so i checked it out. SCAM! I went to my first interview and was told if i was choosen that i would be called back. Later that day i was called and invited back so i went...just to CHECK IT OUT. When i walked in there was about 20 people in there, so i sat down just wondering what it was going to be like. The motivational speaker was telling us basic info about the company and background. Then about all the benefits and advantages of what they do, trying to sell us dreams and false hope. Well on some of us it worked but as Wednesday rolled around that 20 turned into 4 myself included. What you do is sell their product for them and get nothing in return no paycheck nothing! so...i decided what is this company... it just a basis for con-artists.. for your own benefit work a burger king before there at least you will get paid. Read other articles as well not just mine, some people see the light before others LUCKily i was one of those people.. better late than never. kim Utica, MichiganU.S.A.

this company is a lie!!!! i found the ad on craigslist under costumer service. i called the number and a young lady answered by the name of jesse. she told me to come in the next day at 4:00pm. i went there and red flags were popping out all over! first off, the office was located on the third floor.i was scared to even go in the door, but i went in and the waiting room looked very small and dirty with about 8 chairs in it. then a young girl, looked like she was about 19 told me to fill out an application and wait for someone to come and interview me. then the lady, jesse, came out and interviewed me. she took me in the so called office which was small. it had a little desk in it and a chair which looked like it came from the waiting room.she took the application, and started asking me questions. she told me that i would be making 30,000.00 a year and that i would be my own boss. meanwhile while the interview is going on, i here a baby screaming on the top of its lungs.she told me to call back later on that day tio see if i was accepted for the sceond interview. i called back and she told me to come in on thursday for the second interview. not saying it would be 2 HOURS LONG!!! i came back and there was about 30 people in what they call the juice room(which was very small)we were introduced to the so called regional director named tory gates who told us all this stuff about how they were open for 33years and that the presidents name is larry hahn and hes worth 310 million dollars, and that he used to live in his car.then he told us to write down the info they give us.he went into what the training was about. someone that was in with me asked and i remember because that was the question i wanted to ask was is it paid training troy gates told us yes. he said that we would get paid for the training 100.00 for the first week and by the end of the training we would get paid 250.00. then he picked who he wanted to hire. he told us if he called our name, go to his reseptionist and she will give you a time to come in on monday. he called 5 peoples name and said that was it. then he told us if we were still in the room we were the ones he was hiring.VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!he had those people come back for what..? i stayed in the training for a week. thinking that it was paid training and that i would recieve the 100.00 on friday.thru that whole week they were tellin us that this is not a person that did not get hired said that he seen troy gates at broadway junction a couple months ago working as security! but yet he was saying he worked for scentura for 14 years and that he has been very successful. when we went in on monday they had us singing this rediculous songs.then on wed. they had us going out on the streets and sellin perfumes. the girls that i worked with were telling the people that if they buy it theyll lick it before they stick it and that if they buy it theyll write there number on the back of the box and all this other stuff. to make a long story short at they end of the week they said that this is not paid training and that i had misunderstood what was said when i no i didnt because i wrote everything down that was on the bored and he wrote that up the. RTR Management - SCENTURA CREATIONS, Brian Page Regional Mgr And Sharease Manager - HUGE SCAM, DON'T FALL FOR IT! Lied to everyone and made false promises These People Have Different Names In Hundreds Of Cities All Over The US Nationwide, but the one I went to was here in Connecticut
Here is my long but truthful story about RTR Management, aka: Scentura Creations:I recently moved to CT from Vermont 2 weeks ago. Life down here is incredibly different. After sending my resume to MANY places, I never got a call back. I saw this add in the paper for a receptionist needed immediately for busy office, so I called on it. I was asked to come in for an interview.I went into the office the next day, the music was BLARING, there were about 8-10 other people my age there waiting to be interviewed. We waited for a long time, then we were called in 2-3 people at a time. I sat there with 2 other women, the one to my right had 22 years experience in the business field. The woman interviewing us, Sharease, acted like a crack addict - a smile PLASTERED on her face the entire time, trying to make the company sound great and fun to work for. She asked each of us if we were happy or married and do you have any children? (Both questions are completely illegal to ask during an interview). That interview was a joke. They had no way of telling who really qualified for the position. Not only that, but I had applied for a receptionist position and they were telling me I seemed like 'management material'. I was to wait for a call back for a second interview. That night I got the call and I got the second interview! I was totally excited and couldn't believe it. The next day, I show up, music blaring again, and waited forever with about 20 other young people. To my astonishment, the woman with 22 years experience wasn't there! So finally, the manager (Sharease) pulled all of us into the meeting room, told us that the Regional Manager (Brian Page) was coming in to do this interview (which wasn't an interview AT ALL) and that he liked 2 words: SHIT and GREAT. Brian Page came in. There were 26 of us remaining from the supposed 296 applicants. Honestly, it felt good to be one of those 26, I felt pretty special to still be there. After this 3 hour 2nd interview, Brian and Sharease were pulling people out of the room to tell us if we got the job or not. I was pulled by Sharease with another applicant, Melissa. She told us we had both gotten the job!!! I was so happy I almost cried! So I got in my car and felt completely elated, speeding to go see my mother-in-law at work to tell her the fantastic news! It was honestly one of the most happiest days of my life. They told us to come back on Monday for training, which would last 8-12 weeks and then we would get the keys to our very own office. When I went in on Monday, everything seemed okay. Again, the music was blasting in the waiting room, and in the meeting room. We waited in the meeting room for about 15-20 minutes. Sharease and Brian gave a 4 hours speech about the company, didn't give us a single break (I'm a smoker), so we were all sitting there on folding chairs, my ass was KILLING me, etc. Brian claimed that most of us would probably not be returning, that we would blow out and that's okay because those people are weak anyway, and that's not who he wants to work for his company. (Little did I know, those people who blew out weren't weak at all, they were SMART and had caught on to the scam). At the end of the day, Brian said there was this biiig contest going on for all the new people for that night. Whoever sold the most bottles of perfume to friends and family and relatives (FAFAR is what they call it), would win $500 cash the next morning. I went home feeling like shit because I don't have any friends or family down here, I just moved here! So I was begging my other half to help me out since this is his hometown! He didn't know what to do... didn't want to help at all... (later I found out he already KNEW it was a scam but didn't want to hurt my feelings by telling me).So I went into the office the next morning knowing somebody got that $500 and knew I was about to be jealous. What they failed to mention the day before was that we had to get our group total of bottles (105 bottles) and THEN the top seller would get the $500. What bullshit. The entire group did 4 BOTTLES. I didn't feel like such an ass anymore. The trainers came in and wrote on the board questions, at the top it said Ice Breakers. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a HUGE problem standing up in front of a group speeking. Nonetheless, I get up and answer their stupid questions. Can you BELIEVE one of the questions you were REQUIRED to answer was: What was your most embarassing moment during sex? I couldn't believe I had to tell that shit to 10 other people. We did another meeting that morning for 3 hours or so, then they told us we were to go into the field and drop some bottles with our trainers. WHAT FUN... We're supposed to be management in training and you got us looking like fools in streets, parking lots, shopping centers, plazas, etc.. trying to sell your knock off perfume? My trainer had us going everywhere bugging everyone. Hey let me ask you a quick question, what's your favorite kind of perfume/cologne? It was a skit, pretty much... everything scripted, an answer for anything. We were supposed to approach these people and spray their wrists before they even got a chance to say no!We did this for 5 hours that day, went back to the office, I had sold nothing. My trainer gave me 1 of his sales so I wasn't the only one who didn't sell anything.*Keep in mind, from day 1, they begin to COMPLETELY brainwash you, from the loud music, to the screaming and yelling and dances and cheers and Beeee Motivated and Have a good attitude.. etc. They have all this little rules: When you walk through the door in the morning, you are required to SCREAM GOOOOD MORNING, and if you don't, someone will walk you out and you do it again til you get it right. Another one is when 1 of us went up to do ice breakers, everyone else had to say HIIII AMY (Waving their arm from left to right, then clap, and throw your hands to one side saying woooo. This company is almost identical to a cult. It's amazing how brainwashed I was. I'm a shy girl, quiet, and I fell for this shit HARD. Oh and if you didn't do these little cheers/songs with the group, even if you forget the cheer or something, they MAKE YOU STAND IN FRONT OF THE ROOM FACING THE GROUP AND MAKE YOU DO IT BY YOURSELF!Still, I hung in there because that's what Brian said to do - to not be weak. And yet there was another contest, that I couldn't win, going on that night as well.To cut to the chase a bit, this happened for four days. Thursday night I went out with my mother-in-law to have a drink and she mentioned that my new job was scam. She felt like shit telling me and I felt like a damn fool, I was so heart-broken. I started to walk out of the bar, her and her friend came after me and explained exactly how it was a scam. I felt sooo bad because I had made my fiance stay home from his job because we didn't have daycare yet. After hearing what they had to say about it being a scam, I went home and just cried. I looked up Scentura Creations online and couldn't believe everything I found. Every story, IDENTICAL to mine. They prey on the weak, young, and naive. At first I was hurt, then I became enraged and decided to do something about it. I have been looking up all the horror stories on this company from ex-employees, FBI reports, IRS reports, News reports, a Dateline special on this company, anything I can find and I'm bringing the information to the others in the group, and anyone else there going in for an interview. I have e-mailed the local news reporter, and the CT Post (local newspaper) and soon to call the police and state's attorney. I even went as far as finding Brian Page on and e mailing him letting him know I knew all about the scam. This is his myspace address: here is the e mail I send to him:You must enjoy scamming young people, if that's what you've been doing with your life for the last 13 years. It's pretty sad what you put people through, giving them false hopes, making them feel like their dreams could come true. The people who drop out of your little training program aren't WEAK, they're SMART, they've figured you out. It's pretty f***ing sick what you and hundreds of other people do on a daily basis. Your whole company is being investigated.. it has been for years. Aside from being completely immoral, the company will shut down eventually. You may want to check out some interesting shit I found: are just a FEW that I have read. There are THOUSANDS of people who have written about their experiences with your company. Everything you have said has been scripted and you're GOOD at what you do. Of course, you've HAD 13 years to practice. Everyone's experience is the same, no matter what office they apply at. People will find out you are fake, if I have to stand outside and warn them before they go into your office. You might want to think about moving.
