Rent A Center I paid for my dryer but they say I still owe money and tried to repo it Bristol Tennessee

I leased a dryer from rent a skum when my dryer quit working. I tried to have it repaired but the repair guy said it was so old he couldn't get new parts for it and I would probably come out cheaper to just find a decent used one and buy it. So that's what I did. Now the repair guy did me a favour and was honest by admitting to me that it would cost more to fix my dryer than to just get another one. But the people at Rent A Center were anything but honest and they are theives besides.

I am single mother with two children and going through a divorce. I was working two jobs at the time with a 60+ hour work week every week trying to make ends meet. With two kids and two uniforms to keep clean I had to have a dryer. I didn't have the time or money to fool with a laundry mat because I worked 15 to 20 days at a time with out a day off and at least 5 days of the week I worked both jobs the same day.

I didn't even have time to sleep but I still found the time to get down to the store and make my payments on a pre leased dryer and a set of bunk beds so that my kids didn't have to sleep on the floor. I paid everything I owed on the dryer but I had to let my daughters bunk beds go back which really stunk. It sucks for your kids to watch two guys come and take their beds away knowing that they will have to sleep on the floor even after you have paid hundres of dollars on the beds.

That was bad enough because I was only one week behind and with the late fees it would have only been $43 to keep them which I had and could have paid but they claimed that I owed two weeks which I did not and I had the receipts to prove it. They wouldn't listen and finally out of frustration I told them to quote "come and get the sh*t" because it was overpriced to begin with and not worth this crap. When they got there they tried to say that I owed money on the dryer. I don't I paid it all and I refused to give them any of the stuff. I did let them have the beds but I am not giving up that dryer.

I don't know what's gonna happen from here because I don't have the money for an attorney. I hope that they do take me to court so that I can bring my receipts and tell the judge exactly what they've done but I'm betting that they won't. They know good and well that I paid for it and don't owe them anything.

They claim I owe $5 on it but then they tack on all kinds of bogus fees and jacked it up to almost $60 dollars. I'm not paying it. I don't owe it and I will not give the money or the dryer to them.

In the mean time they send their thugs to my house almost daily to beat and bang on my door for 20 minutes at a time and threaten to call the cops. So what. If I don't answer the door and there's no warrants out for my arrest what are the cops gonna do about it. They don't scare me and I think I might call the cops the next time they show up. What low life bastards. Go to Aarons. They are great.
