We purchased what we thought was a "new" refrigerator from Rent A Center. To begin with, it was not new, but since the monthly cost seemed ok and it was in good shape we decided to keep it Bad idea! 

First, Rent A Center will tack on additional costs without telling you, with their "RAC Benefits" program, this will amount to about $10/month, which quickly adds up! 2nd, as I've seen some other consumers report, they will harrass you to no end for your payment! They will call repeatedly, even before the payment is due!

Lastly, they are SO rude! I called my store, before our payment was due, to explain that I was possibly going to have to be late, due to the fact that my husband had been in an accident and was off work, and the same week, I ended up being the passenger in a serious car accident and was just out of the hospital after a 4 day stay! NOT ONE WORD OF EMPATHY!!!! The clerk never once said, "I'm sorry to hear that" or "Are you doing ok now?" NOTHING! They immediately started complaining that if I couldn't make the payment they were coming to get the fridge!

Finally, the day the payment was due, and they'd all ready been calling, I called them and offered to make a one week payment, while I waited on my last paycheck to arrive.....I was told "NO!" ! They refused to accept a one week payment since I couldn't tell them when I would be making an additional payment after this one! Again, no one ever offered any empathy or sympathy for the situation we have found ourselves in! We both have disability insurance, but it takes 4 weeks to get the first check!  

They refused my payment and at that time I told them to just come and pick up the fridge. I then immediately went to my local A****** (((REDACTED competitor))) store where they gave me 1/2 off my first monthly payment, and also showed a lot of sympathy and empathy for our plight. I will NEVER go to Rent A Center again, for anything, no matter what! 

Save yourself time, money and hassle and just go somewhere else!

 When are ppl like YOU going to learn that businesses DO NOT GIVE A d**n about YOUR PERSONAL LIFE!!!! If YOU called up and gave THEM a sob story then THAT IS ON YOU!!! Don't you realize that RAC is a DEADBEAT LENDER!!!! meaning that 95% of their customers are DEADBEATS!!!! Why do YOU think they call so much for payment??? Then YOU call them up and BOOHOO all over the poor employee basically telling them what THEY KNOW already!! That YOU are a deadbeat borrower!!! Oh POOR BABY!!!! Life happened!! get over it!! YOUR personal issues in NO WAY effect the payment that YOU AGREED TO!!! No where in the body of paperwork that YOU SIGNED, probably without reading ANYTHING, is there a clause that if YOU become injured that YOU do not have to pay. YOU have made assumptions!! Its not their job to care about YOU or YOUR personal problems. Oh SURE!!! The other business played AWW POOR BABY with you to get a sale, but guess what.....THEY ARE GOING TO TREAT YOU THE SAME WAY WHEN YOU DEFAULT ON THEM!!!! PLUS you are STILL on the hook for the remaining money on your RAC CONTRACT!!!! yea youre a REAL adult huh?? Sorry to hear that LIFE happened to YOU. Build a bridge and get over it!!

YOU have NOT been ripped off. In fact, its the other way around!! YOU have ripped THEM off, yet YOU have the NERVE to state on a website dedicated to consumer ripoffs YOUR problem. AND ITS NOT A RIPOFF!!! Its just that YOU are a deadbeat borrower!!! YOU had something happen to YOU that made it so YOU could not make a payment agreed upon by BOTH PARTIES!!!!! If someone stiffed YOU like YOU are stiffing RAC, YOU would go postal!!!! Yet when YOU do it to someone else, then THAT requires a RoR report. You DO realize that what YOU have done can get YOU sued in civil proceedings don't you?? No probably not. YOU are SO self entitled that the very notion of YOU doing something wrong NEVER enters that vapid little black hole you call a brain!! Im SO tempted to contact RAC and let THEM have a good solid look at YOUR post!! Maybe a little litigation might TEACH YOU a few things. Like responsibility, financial and personal!!! THIS IS NOT FACEBOOK!!!! THIS IS A MEDIA OUTLET!!!!! WHAT YOU HAVE DONE IS CRIMINAL!!!! YOU SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!!!! Or just accept the FACT that YOU are a very bad person. YOU default on loans. YOU slander and defame others when YOU are the criminal. Grow up!!
