I work for this thing they call a company. Now Im sure not all District and Store Managers in R0051 dock employees lunches but I can say for sure it's happened to me, and alot of my co-workers. No matter how hard or long of a day you had, they override your time and punch you out for lunch even though there was no way you had time to eat with the schedule being so packed full.
They cite this as "company policy". Oh and we have a new Mach 5 timekeeping system that even generates reports sent to the DM when a employee didn't take/or was not overridden on lunch. This way they can better track employees who work too hard, and still steal from there payroll. This company does not care about the employee's. Rent A Center also cites a "open door policy" to report this type of thing, but they only one you report to are the offenders who did these things to you in the first place...ha some open door policy. They dont care...Ive heard my Market Manager state before that employee's to him are a dime a dozen and if people dont like it to get out. They FORCE you to get sales...and when I say FORCE I mean they FORCE you. They send out daily emails saying how people need to step out or get out. In R0051 Pittsburgh Pennsylvania , Its the DM that needs look at and Yes Im talking about you Rick Buletko.

hardworkers still get crapped on

AUTHOR: blackngold13 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 16, 2012

To those who want to ASSume that everyone who posts negatively on here about RAC are those who didn't work hard, you are a moron.  If I didn't work hard, how in just 3 short years did I go from a CAR to a store manager?  Hmmmm, I must have sat on my butt and did nothing.  No, i busted my butt everyday, and focused on learning the ins and outs of the biz.  And it got noticed.  However, then I realized that if you didn't kiss a certain DM's behind....hmmhmmm Buletko......then your life would be made into a living hell.  And its not only that idiot in that region that is a jerk.  I actully quit b/c my father and his wife were in a horrid motorcycle accident and were both on life support for a month.  I had taken my 2 weeks vacation and a week of FMLA so that I could not only spend every night at the hospital, but during the day take care of my fathers personal affairs.  I kept my supervisors up to date with what was going on every other day.  So the day I finally returned to work, with my father still in bad shape in the hospital, I get called into the office and forced to sign a write up sheet.  The reason?  I took too much time off of work.  Are you kidding me?  My father is in the hospital, on life support, his body mangled, and you're going to write me up for being with my family in such a trying time.  And I'm not afraid to say that I wrote above about Mr. Buletko making my life a living hell.  The nepatism that goes on in that district is ridiculous.  He waited until I got his precious store up and flourishing, then he moved me out the door to put one of his "buddies" in as store manager to reap the benefits of my hard work.  I can say this, if I ever see that big nosed doitche bag out in public, I will gladly let him have it. It's funny how the majority of those who work in the Pittsburgh region have nothing good to say about their superiors.  And as for the lunch thing, the only time I actually was given a lunch was when a wonderful gentleman from Orlando came to manage the store I was assisting in bf i took over my store.  He actually made it a point to schedule lunches and made sure that we took them.  He was more than fair.  Too bad I cant say the same for you RICK!  I hope you read this, and then write back with a date and time to meet in a dark alley.  B/c there will be names attatched to the haymakers I throw, and they will all be the names of employees you crapped on.  You will get yours one day punk.

It is true

AUTHOR: anonymous 1 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 16, 2012

I was an employee of RAC for 20 years. That is both rent-a-center then the renters choice version of rent-a-center. I was a company man for years... through the years of "chinese overtime" until a few years ago.  I moved through the company to district manager.  I retired after that.  Yes, someone who actually retired and glad to be out of there.

As a DM, I was constantly told to make sure everyone does their lunch.  I did know of districts who habitually bragged of having coworkers working through their lunch and bragged about it.  If they were drinking buddies with the Regional, they got away with it.

It is ashame the turn RAC had taken in the last few years I was there.  When Renters choice bought RAC, the company became more profitable.  The price they paid for that profitability was the loss of good coworkers and good customers.  Their short term vision of "collect, collect, collect" has given rent-to-own a black eye.  RAC use to be truly about helping people get quality merchandise for a decent price. It is easy to see in the percentage of people who actually rent-to-own their merchandise.  The percentage is 30%....WOW!  Before the Renter's choice acquistion it was 70%

Since many Rent-to-own companies are run by former RAC employees and many other rental companies are modelled after RAC, AVOID them all.  Go without and save your money.  Think about it.  You can by a 50 inch flat panel TV at walmart for $600.  That would be 3 months of payments at RAC.  Go without the tv for 3 months and save your money!!!!

like the old saying goes,if you get to tell the story first tell it your way. i've worked for rac for 7 years and have seen my fair share of loosers just like you guys.i can just picture all  of you,you come in to the company not knowing what you are doing then just want to play on your phone all day and act like there is a whistle that blows at high noon for your lunch and one at 7pm when you leave the store so fast that you stir dust in the carpet and leave the tough ones to do and finish the job that you couldnt accomplish. i've even seen some of you work there for a few years then quit and when all the smoke clears you still didnt know what to do. the good employees can have two routes in pretty good shape then here come you clowns and screw up everything then cant handle the preasure and leave with your tale between your legs and leave us to fix your crap.and as for you claiming you didnt get a lunch is hog wash. and if the truth is known you probably didnt deserve one. your all probably one of those big fat sob's that just sat there and ate burritos all day and stunk the office up.you probably came in late every day and also late from the lunch that you claim you didnt get and didnt have enough common sense to blow up a balloon.

i work in r0039 and all of us work as a team and have no problems. there are duties that you have to do and you guys just didnt want to do them.its plain and simple. maybe what you need to do is get your fat sloppy a*s out on a trail and jog a few miles a day and grow some. every one has an excuse and yours just happens to be lazy.

I worked my butt of for Mr. Buletko and Mr. Seebiscuit for over 4 years.  When a store in Ricks district came open, he took me to lunch and practically begged for me to be the store manager, so I did.  I drove an hour and half to work everyday.  Was never offered any gas money first of all.  Secondly, I turned that store into the 3rd highest profiting store in the region.  And all Rick could to is complain about the backroom, which was impossible to keep organized by msyelf.  Because I didnt run the place the exact way that he wanted, he made my life a living hell.  I would dred tuesdays b/c i knew he was coming.  he also hated the fact that my employees actually liked me and felt comfy coming to me with any issues.  he actually told me that I need to be more stern with them, even though they busted their butts for me.  Then when my grandmother passed one day, I had called him to see if I could leave to be with my family.  His response? "if you feel the need to go and you absolutely must then I guess its ok".  No "im sorry for your loss" or sympathy at all.  So I completely understand and agree with you who dislikes him.  I have nothing bad to say about Randy, b/c when i was going through a rough personal time, he took the time to acknowledge that I was ok and if i needed anything let him know.  In the end, I took Rick in my office, and asked to be demoted and transferred out of his district, when i told him that, he let me know he was there that day to fire me, b/c the backroom was not organized to his liking.  So I say to you "Mr. Rick Cleveland Brown losing, big nose having, doitche bag", I hope the lord gives you your just due.  I have since quit Rentacenter and feel like the world has been lifted off of my shoulders.  Good riddance.  I have a job with a company who actually cares about its employees, instead of treating them like cotton picking slaves.  Go jump in a lake Rick.  Peace!

Complain much?

I am a current employee of RAC for about 1 1/2 years. The lunch complaint is wack, you are REQUIRED to take a lunch so..take one..if your manager has a problem with it, show him the hand book!

RAC is a great job, i mean how many companys start out that well for doing fairly easy work? Give me a break, if you can't handle the job stop being a baby and move on. Period.

And as far as RAC overpricing. I use to think the same when i was a customer. But go out to hh gregg or best buy etc. and apply for the credit card and buy a tv and pay the minimum every month and see how much you end up paying in the long run.

Plain in simple, if you have the money to buy stuff cash, good for you, pat yourself on the back. RAC targets consumers who have not so great credit and don't have the cash to fork out on nice things. How many places can you go into and pay 50 bucks and go home with a 73" tv?? Not many. Most customers that come in know how rent to own works and know they will be paying a lot more then srp if they go full term on the rental agreement, and then the complain they paid to much. If you had a problem with that, why did you sign the agreement?

Yes they do!

I understand exactly where you are coming from! I too worked for RAC and working through my lunch was one of my complaints that led me to be fired. As well as the sexual harassment, porn, invasion of privacy, locking me in the bathroom for 2 hours. ETC....And yes, they have made me work through lunch. When the times had come to be on the road they made me call in at every stop but I wasn't allowed to stop and get food. I don't know about you but I was putting in 12 hours a day at times and those seemed to be the days I didn't get to eat. When I started at the great RAC I weighed about 125 lbs. At the time that I was fired I had gone down to 95 lbs. I am only 5'3" and I was forced to go on the road doing work that I couldn't handle and my co-worker who was on the road with me just happened to be about 7 foot tall and a good 400 lbs. Can you imagine being the small girl at the bottom of the stairs pushing an extremely large couch or bed or dresser up some really really high stairs? We're talking 3 flights of stairs. Not to mention the stairs that were out side. Ha. Then to go back to the store for the next run starving, sick, and angry, I see my managers were not in the office. The DM Rick had stopped by and took them to a baseball game. After the other co-worker had noticed them gone he decided he would stay in the store and send me back out on the road myself to deliver a washer. But he made me stay in the store so that he could go get food. I got the merchandise out of the truck just fine but had to ask the customers to help. Then I had gotten into trouble when I got back to the store because the customer had called in complaining. I don't blame them. I still didn't get to eat. When I had complained to my manager he made excuses and said that I had every right to eat and that he has scheduled times for us to take lunch. He was full of crap. He just filled me up with bs to get me out of his office. Nothing changed. If anything, it got worse. He treated me differently than the other guys. They came to me for a job. I didn't go to them. They offered me the position because I am a hard worker. But the main reason for me being hired was because Rick Boletco or how ever you spell it wanted to do me. That's it! But it didn't get me lunch! Good think I have taste. Unfortunately the only girls who get lunch around there are the ones who go to lunch with Rick. ha ha. He has a few girls in Pittsburgh that he has sex with regularly. It's common knowledge at the Chippewa store. The funny thing is they all make fun of him then  when he comes around they are all buddy buddy.

RAC is a mans club. If you are in the click you get perks. Baseball games, football games, lunch at least 3 times a week. When I had gone to Rick about all of the BS at RAC he made a pass at me. He scratched my palm and told me he liked me a lot and that he could make all the problems go away if I would just let him. I never asked what he meant by that because I knew what he meant by it. About 2 weeks later the manager of the store Steve Confer picked a fight with me and wouldn't let me defend myself. He would ask me questions and as I would start to answer he would cut me off with another question. Over and over until I flipped him off. He fired me. Now when he brought porn into the store and I complained why was there nothing done? Because Rick is just as guilty as they were. They take pictures of customers private parts and share them on the internet. They sent me a few pics still have them.
If there is anyone under Rick B's command that would like to enter into a law suit I would be game. I still have most of the pics of naked girls they sent. I also had made notes the last few months that I was there about things that I have dealt with. All these things are dated.

Alright, I worked for RAC for 2 years. The hours were long, I dealt with difficult customers, and there were at time that we werent able to take a lunch., HOWEVER....I was the only female there and had an AWSOME team that I worked with. My manager was more than fair to his employees. I never, not once felt left out or taken advangtage of because I was the only female, in fact, I felt like they treated me GREAT! I am still to this day still in contact with previous co-workers. I will say, the the manager of a store does NOT control the company policies, only enforces them to an extent that they feel is right. For example, for those of you complaining that you didnt "clock out for lunch" how many times did you stop while you were in the truck to grab a bite to eat, or get gas and go in for a soda, or go out back and smoke while on the clock???? There are several times throughout the day that you have to "get it together" so why are you complaing that you didnt "clock out" for lunch, YOU GOT PAID FOR IT, and so what if your manager overrid your time, its prob because you guys were working your asses off and really didnt have time to stop, clock out, go to lunch, come back, clock in, and get going, BUT, you stopped on the truck and got you something. So....stop complaing. If you have issues with the store manager, take it up with your DM, if that doesnt do the trick, go higher, if all else fails, find another job! But I can almost bet that those of you on here complaining, got fired for one thing or another and are just bitter! No one in there right mond quits a job that is going to give you 45-50 hours a week. Its not science, its a decent paying, hard working job in a shitty eceomony!!!

BTW....those of you wondering, I did in fact get fired, because I had numerous complaing for being rude to customers when it came to managing accounts and those under me. But, my actions where just that, MINE...they had nothing to do with the manager or company. I may have pushed hard for my 5.9 every saturday night, but I will promise you this, I was the first one there on the phone or at a door step and worked hard while I was there. Do I want to go back...HELL NO...its a hard job, and even harder for a woman. But I gave it my all, and did my best for as long as I could. Everything happens for a reason, and it was just time for me to go. Although I was fired, I believe that my manager was GREAT and given another oppurtunity, I believe that I would work for him again with a diffrent company. Its not the manager that makes the rule, they just enforce them!!!!

I know this one

AUTHOR: Sjergons - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 03, 2009

I too worked for RAC where there is no guarantee of anything except that you are going to get s**t on.  I am a 39 year old woman who had worked at the Chippewa location for a little over a year until I was fired in January. The whole crew I worked with at this store were a-holes. I was told that I would be handling sales eventually and did nothing but go on the road. When I wasn't on the road I worked my a*s off in the store while they played in the offices. Played with merchandise, phones, talked on phones, sent emails, text messages, went on 2 and 3 hour lunches while I, the little 98 lb female was on the road. The only time I was treated with any bit of decency was when the assistant manager would stick up for me from time to time. But then again he spent a lot of time making fun of me and putting everyone down all the time. There was a 7' something" man working in the store and he never went on the road. He was sitting behind a desk with the other account managers staring at the computer screen. Eventually after I cleaned the store, I had to finish their calls. When I was finished with being on the road I was the only person making sales calls. I was the only person cleaning everything except the bathroom. I was sent pics of beaver to my phone daily. I had taken my laptop with me one day because I didn't want to leave it home with my kid nor did I want to leave it in the cold car. When I came back from the bathroom, there was porn on my computer. This had happened again the next day. The store manager Steve Confer brought in "Monsters of *&Y%" and loaded it on my computer. There was merchandise missing on a regular basis. On a couple of occasions I witnessed Steve Confer take stuff home. Once he had spent about an hour following a customer around taking pics of her a* with a store computer. He then sent the pics to my email. I still have them as well as the other porn that they had sent to me.

Did I mention how I got the job? Rick saw me working somewhere else and told the manager at another store to hire me if he ever got a chance. He had a crush on me. I didn't know about the crush until I was hired. He shook my hand as he does everyone. Right guys? But when he shook my hand, he would scratch my palm or hold my hand an extra long time. I then got sh*t from the jerks I worked with for that. Saying that i was doing the boss. Rick has forced some women to quit when he harassed them this way. They couldn't take it. I ignored it. When it was that time that he wanted to take me to lunch, I made one of the other co-workers go with me. I went once and spent the whole time listening to him say how much he liked me. HOW DISGUSTING! I may be 39 but I have a 27 year old boyfriend and he is pretty good looking as well. He is responsible and worthy. Why would I want Rick Buletko? I am sure I could have kept my job but....YUCK! When things were getting bad I called Rick, because well there wasn't a phone number available to call the corporate offices. I wasn't allowed to surf the the site for anything. I wasn't allowed to take payments. I was allowed to make sales on the floor but most of the time I wasn't allowed to type them up. Therefore it didn't look like I did anything. I called Rick and let him know that I was unhappy and that sh*t needed to change. At that time, Steve made up all kinds of crap about me. Saying I was chasing these grown men around the store and screaming at them. I wanted to but I don't think so. I called them on their sh*t and lies and that was it. I then told Rick I was tired of the porn, pics, etc. As well as the advances from him. I was fired a short time later. I wasn't going to quit. They had to fire me to get rid of me. But they didn't count on me having dirt. I am collecting unemployment because they couldn't prove I was lying and I have pics proving they are.  So I know what kind of a*holes work for RAC. Rick Buletko is the biggest a*hole of them all.

One good thing, because of Rent A Center, I now search the background and reports of every company I apply for.

I use to work for RAC in D13. Now I had some great times working there, however, I was their for almost 5 years and was never moved up. Am I bitter? Well, Ive had success every where I have been.. and even at my new job since leaving. Im a great worker and wish I left ALOT sooner.

The things I went through were.. just not right.

Im not going to go into details with everything Ive witnessed.. but lets just say that if a certain case was filed against one or more individuals.. the company (RAC) would look into it and investigate.. however.. when ppl are interviewed.. they would all deny anything happened.. then be praised for it.. no extra $, just a pat on the back. good job, u did the right thing.

The no lunches, happened to me ALL the time. I wasnt alone and all of us got docked for it.

The guys/gals left in the store to work in it.. IE sales and everything else that every1 knows needs to get done.. they sit on their asses all day.. wait for the road guys to get back and then tell them to do it.

Those of u who are wondering.. Ive been in BOTH. On the road all day.. and in the stores for sales and more. I would do all and more when in the store, and still see every1 else do nothing. Except play games on their lap tops, watch youtub clips on their cell phone. Have 100 smoke breaks through out the day.

As far as breaking into a customers home when they are not there.. have I been apart of this? Does it count if they moved and the stores stuff was still there and no one else was there? Every1 has a story to tell how they forced or entered someones house.

Enough was enough for me, when I was told assistance would be their for me when asked.. but when I asked I got yelled at. I had things straightened out, on a great track again.. then I go on vacation.. come back.. and my route is trashed.. Im on my way back, on the bus and I call my dad to see how hes doin.. and he tells me my boss called me.. I got in contact with him when I got back home some 10 hrs later.. I was informed I was to meet with the DM the following morning.

This meeting went well, I think the DM of D13 is a great guy, straight shooter, I have nothing against him. He never disrespected me like the mgr of the store I was in. For the next several weeks I was pretty much in hell working there. I found another job, gave them a weeks notice (not my choice, training for the new job and they told me I got it late). I have so much less stress now in my life.

No more working 50+ hrs w/o getting a lunch break.. or trying to sneak in a trip to buy food and HOPE not to get caught.

I was being told they were hiring for my replacement.. yet when they know Im leaving for a new job.. they switch the script and want me to stay.

Everything you hear and read about working for them.. AND how they treat customers IS 100% true. No doubt about it.

Obviously you can not just forget about all the good they have done as a company as well. However, does the good simply out weigh the bad?

Trust me, I have stories.. I wouldnt doubt that I have even forgotten some.. but their are many I will never.. NEVER forget.

Id like to say Ive made some good friends during my almost 5 years there.. however, once I left, Ive kept in some what of contact with 1.. the DM of d13.. like I said.. cool guy.. has GREAT ppl skills.. knows how to talk to ppl.

One day, mark my words, one day the bad will shine on RAC and the media will eat it up and the company might even fall because of it. Id rather have those bad things corrected and no one get hurt. Who seriously wakes up every morning wanting to make pain? Wait.. I use to work for someone there who in my view fit that discription.

RAC is a go go go business,I am a C.A.R. there and yes there are many times I clock out for lunch and do tasks instead of going to lunch.Hell Im on the road ALL day, stopping to get something to eat,or drink when I feel like it.So basically I have lunch ALL day.I get every task done in the day.So any of you that cannot find time for lunch, well you must be window lickers.Do yourself a favor and find a nice job at a bank,or a sweat shop factory where you will be a robot and not an individual!
I knew what I signed up for when the WELL RESPECTED man that BLEEDS rent a center BLUE took a chance on a hard working kid that had never done anything other than factory work,so if you are unhappy, you do have the option to leave the company and you should exercise that option so we can hire people who know what it takes to make a living...........

I have been in the Rent to Own business for over 10 years now. Yes we have a high turnover and yes there are many things said about Kevin Ruckle, Ben vencint, Randy Seebacher, Rick Belucko, Bill Dillon and alll my co-workers.

Personally I have worked for and along side each one of these people, yes RAC is a very competitive business and there work modle is very demanding. Over the years I must say all or any upper mgt people are sometimes very strict and in all my tenure along side these co-workers I have never been threatened degraded or prayed upon.

Sure Kevin Ruckle is a very demanding indavidual only becouse he is trying to bring out the best in all his co- workers and no Kevin does not terminate you for underpreforming I am a perfect example A couple of years ago Kevin and his District Mgr permoted me to a Store mgr as I underpreformed for most of my tenure we Kevin, the DM and my self made a joint decision that I have the opertunity to step back and gain moore experience.

Get real x co- workers you did not get terminated, you quit not only on the company that gave you a opertunity to better your self, but what really stinks you quit on your self. In my tenure at Blue Ribbon, Rainbow and RAC the only people I have seen get terminated are the ones who CHEAT LIE OR STEAL which makes it a integerety issue We are not the biggest and the best becouse we as RAC believe in doing only the Right thing becouse it is the right thing to do.

Former RentaCenter employees couldn't make the grade, boo h*o

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 19, 2009

RentaCenter, Look At The Positives Gives back to community, helps ppl with bad credit, and has helped me in life Kittanning Pennsylvania

You people who write these negative things about RentaCenter make me sick. Just because you have had bad experiences doesn't mean that company as a whole is a ripoff. I have worked for the company for 3 years now. In the 3 years i've worked there, I have gotten married, been promoted quickly, and am now expecting my first baby. If it were not for RentaCenter I would never have been able to afford to move forward with these events in my life. Those of you who have worked there and have animosity towards the company, maybe if you would have worked honestly and done what was asked of you, you still would be there. Thanks you for not doing those things and giving me the opportunity to advance my career! Also, ppl focus on the negatives of the business. They refuse to mention that the company gives back to The Boys and Girls Clubs, The Red Cross, etc.

Recently a customer of ours found out that they need a kidney transplant. So being the horrible company RAC is, we donated a brand new LCD TV to that customer so that they can raffle it off in order to raise money for the medical bills. Man RentaCenter has no heart do they! I think NOT! GROW UP! And as for the upper level employees that you are putting down, without them I would not have been able to learn the things I have, and would not have been given the opportunities in front of me. I guess the old adage of hard work and dedication doesn't go unnoticed. If you (discourgaed former employee) would have done the same as I have, you would be in a better position. But since you didnt, quit whining!

People who focus on the negative never win

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 18, 2009

If whoever you are would have done your job honestly and done what you were told, you would have reaped the benefits. As for Randy and Rick, they have done nothing short of help me with any problem or any question that i wasn't sure about. For that I thank them. Ive been with RAC for 3 years now and have made major life choices due to my ability to afford to. I.E., I've gotten married, and expecting my first child, and am looking to buy my first house. So if you weren't able to fulfill your duties as an employee of RAC, you need to look inside yourself and stop blaming everyone else for your shortcomings. As for me, I'm proud of what I have accomplished in such a short span of time with RAC. I agree that not every transaction at RAC seems to be a deal. But instead of telling everyone about the negatives, why not mention how they donate to The Boys and Girls Clubs, The American Red Cross, etc. Oh yea i forgot, b/c of you not doing your job you are mad at them!

Seebacher and Buletko treat whole team like crap

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 15, 2008

When Rick Buletko took over Market 0181 located in Butler PA, he turned it upside down. Ive seen him go through atleast 5 great Store Managers in the Butler Pullman Location. No one wants to work for him becasue of his arrogant I know everything attitude. The people who work hard and actully give a s**t about this company are swept under the rug like dirt. I hate working for this guy. When Brad Kist the old district manager was here we actully enjoyed coming to work. WE HATE YOU RICK...mabey you should have just lost your job after the RentWay acquistion and no one would have to deal with you. Just in case you dont know it, your not wanted in this Market...This is not Rentway...even though you and Randy try to run it as such. Go interview with Henri again, mabey Aarons will take you. Opps mabey people were not to know that you interviewed with Henri the Super Regional of Aarons?? Quit treating your current employees like s**t and mabey your customers will know who they deal with when the come into the stores. Or mabey you can just reinvent Rentway so it can flownder again. YOU SUCK R0051

WOW Truly Sorry

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 13, 2008

All I can say is wow..if everything your posting here is true I feel for you. I am currently a store manager for RAC and I can say that is not how it works. In my store the employees get to take there lunches everyday if they dont that is poor managment on the managers part. There are tools in place to make sure you effectivly plan your day and take care of the employees such as the daily activity planner. I make sure that all my employees get to eat lunch first..I am the last one to go eat. The sad part is that my store is a very busy store and we have 10 or so things on the DAP as you say plus run credit and telemarket etc etc and they still get done. It is all about effective and organized managment. My staff seems to be happy..we have a great rapport with our customers and everything gets done as scheduled. Does not sound like you have a company issue it sounds like you have a managment issue. As far as the open door policy it does work trust me.. I have seen it first hand. Sometimes it has to go higher in the chain so to speak but it does work. If your ever in my area i think it says where we are when I post lol feel free to stop by and see how its suppose to be done.

hi there. i know it doesn't really help you but the same thing happened to me. i worked for them in oregon, california and oregon again.(why i dunno) the first store i worked in was great. we were in a city of 20,000 or so and only did about 4 or 5 deliveries/pu a day. in the 4 onths i was at that store we missed credit goals twice!!!! anyway, we moved to southern cali and my g-friend worked at anaheim store and i worked in santa ana. we must have done 9 or 10 del a day and the two stores were like 10 miles apart. we never got our lunches or if we did it would be like 4 in the afternoon. i quit because they would rent to ANYONE even if they had been a horrible customer in the past. plus i would have a pile of bills at home and at work i'm calling people for being a day late?? who isn't a day late on SOMETHING? ok so we move back to oregon and 9 months later i go back to work for them in a different store in same market as 1st oregon store cuz they are short handed and pay/benefits better than my current job at the time. after 3 days they promote me to sales lead and let me tell you what...you are right they FORCE you to get sales. in this city two stores were merged into one to save money. well thay had payoffs right and left, people returning stuff and the like. anyway before i got there they had been losing their a*s. after a month at the sales position and winning store of the month and sales lead of the week twice, the store manager blames the losses on me when the dm got on her a*s about store losing customers and b o r . suddenly, papers in the files i built were gone and in our region you had to make 25 telemarketing calls a day..a day. now anyone who works for them knows they give you so much to do in a day there is no way you can get this done. they would send two guys on deliveries, the credit lead and manager would run 7 plus accounts in the other truck and i would be in the store alone and she would say print tags...clean and refurb...arrange showroom..blah blah plus wait on customers that come in and answer phone by the third ring or you're not doing job...oh look no one did third call-through and it's 6pm and credit stinks..well you all know..i was demoted back to CAR after a 4 week action plan which my manager had me on for 9 days before just saying oh well dm says you're demoted..anyway in OR and Ca some peeps got toghether and hired a lawyer and sued for no breaks.....and won in oregon after taxes my chunk was 2000 bucks because i fell in between the dates used in suit. when we moved to cali i got lucky again ...another 800 bucks but when you get a peice of the settlement you have to sign a legal document stating you will never ever sue them in that state for the same thing..if you don't sign...of course no money

How To Fix the Problem

AUTHOR: Carol Ann - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 19, 2008

If memory serve correctly, Pennsylvania is a Right To Work State. That means they Literally can Do anything they want to and get away with it! It is not to the Advantage of American Workers.

Try Contacting your State's Labor Division and file a Complaint. Also file one with the National Labor Relations Board known as the NLRB. Then, start Contacting your State legislators and start Petitons to Get Rid of Right To Work States. It's Nothing more than Legalized Slavery. ( See The Trurth About Right To Work States online) There is also a Listing of States that are Right to Work and trust me, workers are angry with the fact Americans are being forced to live a Third World life at work! I hope that helps. Good Luck.
