I been dealing with rent a center for years. I bought several things from them,due to not having the monies to go out and buy all at once.See this seems like a good idea when your monies are short and you need furniture and ETC.

I have lost thousands of dollars with rent a center. $5.00 everyday late fees,insurances I didn't ask for,when they take your furniture back cause you are late,taking monies and giving no reciepts.I bought a 27" tv for over $1,000,living room set over $1,000 and a stove $300 and keep in mind majority of this stuff is used.See if they take something back in good shape.They will try to charge the fullest like it was never used and one of the store staff told me that in person.

See i'm still renting from them now,so i don't lose all my monies i putted out in my furniture,but after this never again.At first when i got my furniture.I got lamps with the set.The lamps fell apart.they took lamps and said new ones were coming.I'm still being charged and don't have lamps.They came and got my furniture cause i couldn't make a payment.Then the lamp bill went off.1 month later when i went to get my furniture back.They were selling the same lamps for cash and carry.Had same furniture for 1year and they took it again.My cash price was 1400 and now only 900 and something and it's been over a year paying on this and I suppose to have many bennefits cause i'm a gold member.one bennefit was if you lose a job(no monies)RENT A CENTER will help.All lies and I want my monies back owed to me.RENT A CENTER staff is pocketing peoples monies.They take lottery tickets for payments,They will even cash your pay checks for you.I never got my monies back from the last worker who is now fired.He took peoples monies and didn't turn it in cause he was on crack.This was in the local newspaper here.I got proof of everything and want to take them to court A.S.A.P if they don't make it right.I have alot more about how RENT A CENTER is burning people.They want their monies now,But to fix a problem.Takes forever.They thrive on poor people.POOR PEOPLE DON'T BENNEFIT at all.RENT A CENTER does.Please don't be late.you will get calls all day.they will tell your 9 year old whats going on and most of all they will take your furniture. How can something be $20.00 and tax a week,but if late around $60.00.By the way.Every computer i had and put hundreds into.I LOST with the monies at RENT A CENTER.Advice go and get a layaway and stop donating.

I too have numerous items with RAC. I have been told I would get a replacement DVD player and new speakers for my stereo. Neither has happened and they even told me they were back ordered over 8 weeks ago. I was unable to pay on my items for 1 week and they carried that week until I got paid. I have had many problems with RAC but they were quickly handeled. I know I am paying out the ying yang for my products but I like having the ability to have nice items.

i talked to district manager rob and will settle the problem.i will pay 450.00 plus tax and its mine but i still will never go back here again.also the man who wrote back a commet remember every store is different and all of them are not doing the right thing.plus how do you know about whats going on in pa and if you did.you will know.these store chang managers like you change your clothes.plus since im done with ya'll no need to spill the beans to hurt ya'll even more.cause you have already got a bad name all over the country.wish you the best and god bless you.remember god don't like ugly

It is so ignorant that anyone would believe that. I am an employee of that company and most of what was said in nonsense. First of all we cater to cliente that do not have good credit and can not get merchandise with credit ie: washer and dryer, refrigerator and any other merch. As for going to go pick up merchandise that the client has been paying quite a bit for is all because the person has been avoiding contact with company and will not pay. In fact we do not want to pick up merchandise, it makes our individual store look horrible. We do it out of last resort and file criminal charges as a stolen item because the customer will not contact us and does not want to pay on an item. It is like if you were to sell a car that you love on payments and you didn't have that person on credit it was based purley on trust and the information they gave you *where they work and live and four personal refrences* and all of a sudden they didn't pay you, and you couldn't contact them. What would you do?? As for as "preying on low income households" it is outrages and ignorant. I am the sales manager and in fact I have several "very welll off" customers that rent to own from us. Which almost leaves you wondering why they come here when they could buy several of what they are buying cash money. But why do they come here becuase we don't check credit and if you want it cheap you have just as regular chance of getting it as cheap as you could as the store down the street with our 90 days same as cash. The person that wrote this comment was out right mad that they had thier merchandise picked up just becuse they stopped paying for it and stopped working with us. In fact our market manager gives extentions out for customers that are going threw a tough times and need some help. We EVEN give them FREE time when they have tough times and can't afford the merchandise and they can't afford they refigerator they keep thier baby's food in for example. How silly does that person's comments sound?!! We as a company and as a staff bend over backwards and then some to help our customers and treat them like family!!

todd at rent a center couldn't wait until my friend brought the monies for washer and dryer.they already took furniture.They said now since they took stuff.Even on Friday Jan.12,2007.We are unable to get stuff back EVER.We paid over 1 thousand dollars to them already.TODD don't care but he will wish he did.for robbing me and my family of 6
