This employer is a joke! WORST customer service EVER, racial slurs, openly downgrade customers, scam "deals" on eBay, consistent underlining backdoor activities of a suspicious nature. Even tried to "accidentally" make a mistake on paycheck to reflect incorrect pay period as to show me working for them in 2007 NOT 2008! A COMPLETE disgrace to the eBay community and St. Louis/St. Charles County. STAY AWAY whether employee, customer or seller

As the former warehouse manager (worked for this guy 9 months) I can tell you most of what has been written that takes the form of negative commentary is dead-on accurate.  The owner (absentee owner) which he adamantly denies, but c'mon he's only in the office once or twice a week for a few hours at a time and usually has no idea what is going on within his organization- only cares about how much money is coming in the door. 

He b***hes and moans about having to drive from Lake St. Louis to the location downtown, so he rarely does it.  (If you didn't like the drive, why did you relocate your business from chesterfield to downtown....idiot)  The only thing else consistent is being inconsisitent.  He lies to and cheats his employees, customers, and consigners.  I had been instructed numerous times to make up excuses or provide false reconciliation dates when people are asking to be paid for merchandise that was sold out of the establishment often times months earlier.   I've been required to lie to customers about frieght shipping being delayed sometimes weeks beyond expectations (because he didn't pay his freight bills).  Paychecks have bounced, phone and internet services shut down (also a result of not paying the bills).  He often hires people (who are smart enough to quit quickly) and never files appropriate tax documents (no I-9 or w2's) because he can't justify the cost with his accountant.  So he lies to the governement too.  (Have fun with your IRS audit btw, I tipped them off about this and your likelyhood of under-reporting your income by fudging your consigment sales figures)

There is no standard policy or procedures for anything, its all shoot from the hip and put out whatever fire happens to be burning at the time.  He complains about getting crappy employees all the time, but he doesn't want to pay for anyone qualified.  I pretty much ran his entire operation and personally know migrant farm workers that cleared more/hour than what I was.  Bonuses were promised for exceeding production goals but were never paid.  Salary renegotiation was promised but never happened.  You can only dangle the carrot in front of the donkey for so long before the donkey stops walking.  All I was for this guy was a pack mule that he piled responsibility on but never justly compensated. 

I can't believe I was so stupid to stay with this company for the amount of time I did, lending my reputation and work ethic to improve his reputation.  In the last month and a half I worked here I lost over 30lbs as a direct result of the extreme amount of physical labor I was doing and the 12-14 hour work days 6 sometimes 7 days a week.  When I did finally take my normally scheduled day off as a result of not being able to stand, he thought I quit and put my check in the mail, then proceeded to screw me on my last check.  I have never worked so hard for someone that couldn't give a s**t about his company or his employees.  When he's asked to help with anything physical he balks,  Claiming "I'm the president of the company, I shouldn't have to do that stuff."  When you only have a staff of 3-4 people, sometimes you have to jump in a help, especially when you don't allow your hourly people overtime, and your salaried supervisor is working 70+ hrs/wk and you are complaining because everything isn't getting accomplished that you wanted.  I'd think I'd rather be able to claim to be the president of a successful company that prides itself on ethical operations and business practices, not a piece of garbage.

Take the advice of everyone here-  Do not involve yourself in any way with Jason Witte, warehouse of stuff, or ridyourstuff.com  Or be prepared to be screwed.

First, it is maddening to see the word lying misspelled repeatedly. The bottom line: The owner of the company was having an admitted and documented affair with the now ex-employee responding to the original poster. Not only was she screwing him, but she obnoxiously ran over everyone that put effort and loyalty into growing that business, while the boss continued to coddle and defend. He defended her even while every last employee walked out the door. It's comical, really. Guess it stands to reason.... who wouldn't defend the person with whom he was having an affair? It was nothing anyone could compete with, so everyone jumped ship. And just in time, as it seems the company is slowly by surely sinking. SnakeBite and the boss were in it for themselves, and they both deserve everything they get.

No slander here, libel maybe, slander is spoken, libel written.
Good luck on defamation, very difficult to prove.

Only mention it cause people always come on here and say my lawyer says
I should sue for slander, a lawyer would know better, so we know your full
of sh**.

I now no longer work there and while I did not leave on good terms and have my own opinions of the company and my experience there I will not result to slander,.

Maybe you havent been following....
defamation of character is when you use someones name and then make up things for example: you used jasons name and then claimed that the company is racist and scams people and that he is having an affair. That would be defamation of character and is just pathetic that anyone would stoop that low, what is the point? We have not used anyones name and we never said anyone was charged with anything. We feel that it is quite possible the person writing this is in fact the person under inverstigation for committing a felony against the company. IP addresses can be tracked and in this case I can assure you that they have been. Unfortanately being in buisness companies have to let people go from time to time due to cutbacks or job performance situations, that is buisness. In this case if this is who I think it is I felt TERRIBLE for having to let her go and got cussed out and screamed at. I did nothing personally to anyone. As far as other employees quitting..I cant really explain why they did. Some just werent good at their job and othersquit for various reasons being because of the job or because they didnt like that I was hired in and changing things....its a small office so that happens. It is very sad because I spent a lot of time trying to get those people more money and to far with the company and got stomped all over when they left so for them to say I was trying to run them out is ridiculous because the person that said that knew I was trying to get them everything they wanted....I did and they turned it down.
This has been made personal. I understand that if you havent gotten paid how that can feel personal but I would assume that if a company doesnt pay someone and they know that they would be taken to small claims court and forced to pay that they must know something and/or have a very legal reason for doing what they are doing. Or else it is pointless. To make personal attacks on myself and say things that are simply untrue is just sad.

I am the suppossed "felony doer" LOL. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING has been proven by the Chesterfield PD and NOTHING ever will. This is ridiculous!!! You cannot trace an IP address that only exists in the minds of those who played up this big charade to make a FEEBLE attempt for having any reason not to pay me the wages owed from Jan 20-25,2008 and we ALL know that to be true. YEP..you're reputable alright! Can't even pay an employee wages that are due....pieces of work I tell ya!

You feel that I am retaliating?? NO, I am simply making others aware of what trash exists. Funny how there is another reply to this company (and I use that loosely) and you automatically say a person is jealous, LOL Seems I heard that line when you told me why all the other girls quit. NOTHING to be jealous of. The owner is in not any way attractive (mostly due to his personality) and you my dear....smile pretty. Get off the high horse and conduct yourselves in the manner you try to portray! OH and pay me the money you OWE me!!!

Ridyourstuff.com does behave very unethically and the reason they have such bad luck with employees is because they treat them like crap. In the time that I was there, EVERYONE quit or was fired for dumb reasons. NOBODY stays there that wants any kind of future for themselves. The person who wrote the rebuttal report is only kissing butt to the owner as she is probably sleeping with him. Dumb as a box of rocks and has no couthe whatsoever! They can say that everyone is a liar and blah,blah,blah but I bet the original poster is not quite as bad as one would be made to believe. Those who have worked for, know anything about RidYourStuff.com or the owner know the truth. Plain and simple!

The person who wrote this is immature. I am an employee of RYS and can say that I know who it is that wrote this and she is lieing. Though I could bring up specfic unprofessional, racial, and inappropriate conduct occasions, I wont. She is simply retaliating for being let go and that retaliation involves committing a felony against our company which she is the only suspect in. We have had very bad luck with employees in the recent past and are trying to recover from that, however I can say that we always try to work the best we can and are sometimes too accomodating of employees and customers. I have been an employee for almost a year and this is the best place I have ever worked. Because i know personally, that this person is lieing, it is very frustrating.
