When a customer/client hires a trainer to do a specific task, such as training, money is paid and accepted, services should be completed. This may seem like common sense, but to the contrary when you are dealing with the facility of Rivendell Farm LLC, Gainseville Georgia. I have a passion for horses, riding and showing them, I was lured to this training facility with the promise of professionalism and concern for safety, as all who ride know safety is a concern. I learned after 1 year the hard way, talk is cheap, but the board and lessons at this facility are not!!The trainer at this barn had no issue with taking my money, however when it came to the lessons, it was her time that matter, her opinion that matterd and she is always correct, you play by her rules and her rules alone. Control freak is the only way I know to describe the absolute control this trainer. She demanded respect without question, but your time, not to mention money you paid her, was un important, for an entire year I did not recieve 1 leeson on time, most of which were up to 45 minutes late, and you were required to wait or pay anyway!!It may seen incredible, but it is the truth, on one occasion I waited for 1 hour just to have the trainer show up after she purchased a car and I still had to pay for the lesson because I left without a 24 hour cancellation. This lack of respect is unacceptable and unprofessional. What is worse is when safety comes second to her as a trainer winning. The bottom line is a trainer is not doing you, a paying customer, a favor by doing her job she was paid for. No one should ever be made to feel disrespected or belittled for asking questions or expecting to receive a service for which they paid. This facility is unprofessional and MONEY is the bottom line, so unless you choose to relinquish all opinions, control and decision making over your own life, try to find another training facility and save yourself heartache and money.

Sure is a great place to ride!

AUTHOR: Plant Lady - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 04, 2008

I was surprised to see such an angry account of the barn we use. Rivendell Farm has some of the best rates around on boarding and lessons. The trainer is excellent. My daughter and her horse have made great progress since we have been there. Lessons are usually on time. Sometimes they go over a little, but it is because the trainer is giving extra time to the students for free. I don't mind that at all. Remember, we are working with animals not a train station.

Our horse has had excellent care at this facility and is quite happy. This is seen in her healthy coat and happy personality.

Every time I have been at the barn, the riders are having a great time! Rivendell and its trainer are committed to safety and teamwork. I have found Rivendell to be a great learning place and the owners and trainers are very generous with their time and knowledge.

Maybe Shadowfax should look for a barn in Mordor.

Wonderful Place!!

AUTHOR: Removed - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 15, 2008

The initial "report" sounds like a very disgruntled individual and I will start off by saying sorry you feel that way. I am an individual that knows nothing about the situation and I know there are two sides to a story. This sounds more personal than factual. Being around horses all my life too, I have found this Farm an excellent place for opportunity, learning and growth. Not to mention that "yes" you do play by owners rules if for nothing else but liability purposes to start with. I am shocked that it took this individual an entire year to figure out that it was not a place for them. Good luck whereever you are~~ We love this place.

Bullying Rivendell

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 29, 2007

Bullies need not target their "victims" because they are weak. They undermine in front of others, raise false concerns, or express doubts over a persons performance or standard of work, however unsubstantiated this may be.

Thank you for the GREAT JOB Rachel and Rivenndell!

Vengeance

POSTED: Thursday, November 29, 2007

Imitative bully

May have low self esteem or be depressed. Influenced by the surrounding social climate. May use whining or tattling or be manipulative.

The bully fears exposure of their inadequacy and incompetence, your presence, popularity and competence unknowingly and unwittingly fuel that fear.

Unfair & Untrue

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 28, 2007

Making unfounded slanderous comments trying to discredit a persons business and livelihood is wrong.

Rivendell is a well run business providing excellent boarding and training at a very reasonable price. Rachael's performance as a coach and trainer for both teams has been nothing short of exemplary.

To Chelsea

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2007

In response to Chelsea's comment:

Chelsea, Everyone was only responding to the comments your mother made about Rachel and the farm. Whether you wanted to quit the team or not isn't relevant to how people feel about you personally. As far as I know everyone loved you and was surprised and sorry to see you leave the team. No one wishes you anything but happiness, and I'm so sorry for you that it has come to this. We aren't sure why this kind of drama has to take place if you simply wanted to quit the team. No one would have begrudged you that. Several people have quit the two teams but still continue to have good relationships with Rachel.

The rest of us have a real problem with the way your mother has chosen to handle the situation. It could have been done privately between her and Rachel, but she chose this public forum (and others) to air her grievances and that is wrong, because the things she said were untrue. Nothing she wrote in her initial report was about you, or the team, or you riding on the team - it seemed to be all about trying to ruin Rachel's business.

Please, Chelsea, know that this isn't about you. It's about righting a wrong done to Rachel.

AUTHOR: Chelsea Marie Heidlauf - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2007

ok whoever left the comments about oh well Deann this and Deann that and oh u shouldn't listen to her cause shes just trying to get back at the trainer .HAHAHA..oh and about how me, Chelsea Heidlauf got kicked out of the farm, i certainly did not.For all of you who don't know me im Chelsea and i broke my shoulder and my ankle, me and my mother had been having problems with Rachel for a bit.

Then there was a show that i didn't want to do with the equestrian team because my broken ankle and broken shoulder didn't feel good.i said i didn't want to do it and then she said well maybe you should re-evaluate your position at the team and at my barn. I replied "ok well I QUIT".So i did not get kicked out neither did my mother .If you have something to say about this subject.then say it to me the one who Quit the team.

Rachel is a great trainer and she is a very Christian women her stables are good and she has alot of knowledge.I don't say for you not to go to her barn, i just don't suggest being on her equestrian teams.

Also please stop talking about things you werent a part of and know nothing about.thank you.

Absolutely LOVE Rivendell, it's trainer, and owner.

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2007

We have been clients of Rivendell for over a year now, and we wouldn't ever consider going anywhere else. We have been to MANY farms and so have several points of reference. Our horse has never been better cared for. This is the home farm for two high school equestrian teams, so obviously it is a first class facility. One of Rachel's students won the interscholastic National Championship earlier this year, so that is a testament to her training ability!

To suggest that Rachel is a control freak is ridiculous; she is the most understanding, accomodating, honest Christian woman, who has the patience of a saint. IF she ever runs behind it is only because she is giving extra attention to students who need it, but you can rest assured she will give you the same consideration. You get so much more than your money's worth at this farm. All members of the high school equestrian teams absolutely adore her.

Any parent of teenage children will tell you that if a whole team of teenagers likes someone then they must be worthy! I'm sorry to see such a good person have to defend herself in this way. She has the truth on her side, and as for our family, we think she is wonderful, and we thank God that she came into our daughter's life.

Rivendell Farm is an wonderful place for both horses and riders

AUTHOR: Satisfied Customer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 23, 2007

We have had our horse at Rivendell for 1 and 1/2 years, and my daughter also has taken lessons at this farm for the same amount of time. We feel that our barn, and trainer are the best. We are always treated fairly, honestly, and professionally.

The prices are very reasonable, and the fees are below most of the barns in the area. The owner/trainers have always been flexible and willing to work out financial issues if someone has a financial hardship.

Deann from Gainesville's comment is one person's response in retaliation against this farm. I am an extremely satisfied customer, and my daughter loves her trainer and her barn.

Also, the care our horse receives is outstanding. I highly recommend this farm to anyone. It is a great farm with wonderful caring trainers and great barn staff.

Rivendell Farm is a great place to board, ride and take lessons.

AUTHOR: Objective Observer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 21, 2007

With all due respect for DeAnn from Gainesville, let it be known that she was asked to leave the barn she is complaining about (the reasons are not important here) and that is why she is trying to slander them. The owners of this farm have more integrity than 99% of the horse people I have met in the industry. Their prices are cheaper than most barns for lessons, showing and other services. The horses boarded there are well fed and well taken care of. I am an objective observer who has boarded at this farm and also have been riding and showing there for 2 years. Yes, lessons sometimes run late, but that is not uncommon and most people with common sense have learned to plan for this eventuality.

Other than that, in my objective opinion (I am not affiliated with this farm except as a customer) there is NO TRUTH to the RIPP-OFF report filed. DeAnn from Gainesville is trying to "get back" at the owners of the barn and her comments should not be considered valid in any respect.
