Let me first start by saying I have tried to comtact Hud, Jonesboro Housing and several places trying to get help for my family but it has come down to every resort that I can think of. The maintenance here is the worse in the world, I believe! We have are upstairs roof leaking and pipes leaking in the kitchen as well. Are stove does not work and so we have to use the microwave to cook or eat sandwichs, go out to eat, etc. We have called them numerous times and they have yet to even come and take a look at the many many problems. We do not have money to move and we are on Hud, they have not tried to help us either. My grandmom is severly disabled and has lived at this dump for over 20 years. We went without air condition for a long long time because we called and maintenance finally came out 1 time annd said that the ac was fixe but only hot air was blowing out and we begged them to take a look at it.

Finally the manager came out and said that we would have to put up ceiling fans and pay for it ourself and said they wouldn't fix it. This was devestating news to hear that they would let us suffer in the summer time. especially knowing that the medicine my grandma is on and she is not suppose to get hot! We had went and bought several cheap fans and put throughout the house and suffered through 2 summers like this and now since they are remmodeling outside they put up brand new ac units for all the apartments. The ac that they used to have were ancient and no wonder they weren't working. We finally have air, it is like Chrismas for us and what a blessing to have! I have seen so many other complaints from my neighbors also about not wanting to fix the ac as well as other things. We have pipes sticking out of our bathroom unit and mold growing everywhere in the tub as well. When we turn on the faucet for the bath the pipe is sticking out and the water shoots way accross the tub. The maintenance took that off years ago when they said that they were going to remodel are bathroom but never did and just left it off and haven't been back since. About 8 years ago there was a wonderful maintenance man named Otis and he would fix anything, as soon as you called and he was on call at night as well but since he retired everything has gone down hill. I have only ever seen one maintenance man now annd this guy is so so lazy.

We had an emergency flood in the apartment and we called them at 6 at night to come out immediately and fix it and the office was closed but they are still suppose to be on call and no one called us back or came to fix it. We had to sweep tons of water out of the apartment with a broom and that has never been solved either. In our kithen the pipes leak and we have a mop bucket inside the cabinet to catch the leaking water that falls. I have to change out the water daily! There is so much that I cannot begin to describe all that is going on here but it is so sad. Another thing is that the steps are super slipery and they promiced that they would come out and put stair pads because I have slipped and fell once and my grandmom who bruises easy has fell numerous times. She went up to the office and shown them the bruise that she had which was all the way down her leg and they still did not come and put pads on the stairs. Everything in are apartment is very old and hardly works. We have cracked wall to wall tile that is stained and dingy. Also are freezer does not free like it is suppose to and if we have ice cream it melts, etc. I wish more than anything that someone would help us to get out of here but because of moving expenses it is very hard, also we have to get Huds permition to move before we are allowed to move also.

Please someone inspect and shut this apartment down, it is a disaster! The only time they will fix things is when someone moves out and that's it. We have inspection and the apartmment will come in peoples homes and inspect the drawers, refrigerater, closets, etc. It is like they are trying to tell you how to live and if they don't like it they will fell you on inspection. We failed once becasue are apartment wasn't spotless and we felled another time because they said that a box that was in my bedroom had to be thrown out. I had a large box of gift items that were given to me. Another incident that we had was that we had a sink that fell and it took them forever to come fix the bathroom sink and when they did fix it, they did not kaulk it right and it fell several other times and the last time it fell is when I was putting my make up on and it fell and broke 3 of my toes and they finally kaulked it right and so far it has not fell again. I have an emergency bill from that in the ammount of 600.00 because I don't have medicade or insurance. Now we have another problem that just occured and this is a first in over 20 years. We always put are money in the drop box every month and have had no problems what so ever but last month, we received a note saying that are rent was passed due and that we were getting a late charge. I went up to the office and showed them our receipt and they said that we would have to trace it and we did. We are now waiting on a trace and letter in the mail back. I called Western Union and they said that the money order had beed cashed on Oct, 14 and we sent the money order in the drop box on Oct, 3. I called the apartment back to let them know that it had been cashed but I was waiting on a statement from Western Union and the manager said it doesn't matter if the money order was cashed and she said that they had at least 3-4 that month that had been stolen and she said that we would have to get the name of the person who stole annd cashed the money order and she said that they were not responsible.


I could not believe this, I wrote the money order out to Riverwood Townhouses annd now she's telling me that they are not the ones who cashed it and even thought it was written out in there names. So now we know that there is a thief in the office!!! Who else could have cashed the money oders besides them?!? I can't wait until I get the form back from Western Union so I can see what has happened. They mmade us pay double in rent and would not give us time to get the report in the mail from Western Union and so now we are flat broke. Someone stole that money to go buy Christmas presents and now we are having to suffer, I bbet the person who stole it wont get caught either. So far I have seen the same faces in office so I think that this isn't right. Plus this has happened to 3 other people besides myself who also left there money in the drop box. From now on I will go in and get a hand written receipt from the mannager so that they can't steal mmy money. I have had so many problems with this dump, I just cannot believe anyone who's in charge would let this apartment stay in business!
