I pay about $1,400.00 for a new furnace. I have it here to install. I call around, and only two places in Lincoln install furnaces in mobile homes.

I get one estimate. Because I own the furnace to install, the one other company will not install it. They say I have to buy one from them.

So I get a person who comes to my house and says:

Some of these furnaces can be tough to put in. Some are easy. So we estimate high so the customer has no surprises, and often we get it done cheaper.

My "estimate" was for 1,700.00

It is the middle of winter, and we have no choice as we have to have heat.

Two men come to install the furnace I have here waiting. Two men are here for  FOUR HOURS. They say, "WERE DONE"

I say wow, only four hours. 

SO I get a bill for $1,760.00 Same as the estimate. In Nebraska, as far as consumer law is concerned, an estimate is the same as a QUOTE. You do the math, I paid $200.00 an HOUR for labor. No extra parts no problems. FOUR HOURS LABOR.

Lesson learned; DO NOT TRUST ANYONE! They did not even hook up the drain hose to the condenser and we have water flowing under our trailer. AVOID THIS COMPANY! The owner does not respond to letters. And the BBB does not negotiate prices! The install failed the first city inspection and the worker had to return to finish sub-par work!

GET IT IN WRITING AND HAVE A CONTRACT  REVIEW with ATTORNEY.
