I thought the dealer I purchased my vehicle from was a fraud and I did not believe them when they told me the warranty company was a fraud. Turns out they both are. I tried to cancel my contract with them but it had to be done from the dealer. The dealer refused which was illegal but that's how it was. There was nothing Royal could or would do but give me a week extra. It turned out that I might actually need to use their warranty and I told them but I never did because I was on hold so long I just hung up the phone. A few days later they told me they canceled it. I was happy but it's funny there was no possible way to cancel it until they got word I may actually need it. I spoke to somebody at their office who stated they refunded my warranty 100%. I understood and confirmed there was a 50$ cancellation fee and I asked so XXXX$-50$ was sent to the bank? They told me they could not say that information. I figured I'll wait and see but did not think they would scam me. I knew it was entirely possible but when I called my bank they told me they received about half. There's no where in the contract that says 100% refund has a 50% fee with it. .......

So the status is that I ignorantly signed up with a weak warranty. I struggled to cancel it immediately and in the end they only refunded half. This means for absolutely no service and before service officially started I paid this company about a grand.

It's a strange business. I will include all the names below. When trying to cancel I called them and asked if they were in the office and they said yes. I drove down there and nobody was there. I called and they said they were there but said they could not open the door. I looked in the back window and just saw bags full of shredded documents.
It seems as though this company might not exist at all. Luckily I live close and I don't think they expected me to go there but I understand people from all over the country have problems with them and would never have the chance to go the physical location.

I now understand why they go under so many different names. Which is the following starting with mine:
People's Vehicle Protection, Service Shield, Integrity Automotive Protection, Buyer's Choice, Capital Care, and GEM Care Extended .......
Google the website and the word profits and you will see in bold print "Royal service contracts contribute to the highest dealer profit margins in the industry". What that means is they know they do no service and loophole out of any services. This is a statement made for dealers because in the end they pay the dealer a major (the highest in the industry) portion of the profits they scam from people. Everybody says these things are scams and everybody is correct. I wish I knew this before hand and I really hope somebody gets this information before they sign up.

They are stealing money from people. What really blows my mind is if they are going to steal my money then they should steal it all and not half. There is no rebuttal until I receive the other half. They would like to shift the blame but they already stated "they" sent 100% back to the bank. My service never even began and they took half my money.

OMG YOU SAVED ME!

AUTHOR: Andrea - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, November 27, 2017

I received several calls in reference to my Ford warranty; at the times I was called I was at work so finally I get a chance to call them back and find out what is going on because I knew my new car warranty expired so what's the big deal about my warranty that should no longer exist? So I call and this young kid on the phone wants me to renew my warranty I keep asking what warranty company is this my Ford warranty expired so is this a Ford warranty on my Ford escape I don't understand.

The young kid manages to dodge that question in between asking me questions about my vehicle and what the warranty entails. Finally after I dodge his rushed request for my bank info I manage to get a finance manager on the phone who again dodged the question of what warranty company are they and he too tried to rush me for my bank info. Finally this manager states the name of the warranty company "Royal Administration".

I quickly get online while he is telling me my package of warranty and find all of these reviews stating not to deal with this company. I quickly got off the phone I told them my husband and I had to mull it over. I am SSSOOOOO GLAD I found these reviews there are tons of them and they all state the same things. I dodged a bullet! OMG YOU SAVED ME! THANKS FOR THE INFO!

I figured it was a shady company because they tried not to tell me who they really were until I knew it was a recorded line and I kept saying "oh so this is another Ford manufacturer warranty then? Right?" They finally after almost 30 minutes stated who they really were and just by how shady they were dodging my questions it prompted me to search for reviews online. The reviews I found were not great and there are tons of them Nationwide. Thanks again for your informed post it helped me dodge a bullet.

Deceptive practices, missleading policies and lots of fine Print. Buyer Be Aware

AUTHOR: Crisp Sound - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 14, 2009

I purchased an extended warranty for my Volvo XC90 On Jan 2007, I had some issues with the car and whenever I bring it to my local Volvo Dealer, the warranty work ends up being delayed and not fully covered for one reason or the other.

I visited the shop about three times between 2007 and 2008; I had to arrange for alternative transportation every time I needed repair work done. This warranty company takes 24 to 48 to inform the dealer of part / work they will cover.

During my last trip in winter of 2009, the service department agent told me directly and I quote: "we deal with all kind of warranty companies out there, yours is the WORST one, They are very hard to deal with"

I finally had enough, the repairs started to cost me money, because the Royal [There is nothing royal about them] refuse to pay for most of the work and I was always digging for my wallet to pay for work done and alternative transportation.

But wait, it gets better! I had a 4 year term or 100K miles, I got sick of the whole thing that I bought a new sedan and wanted to cancel the warranty to get the unused portion or 2 years premium refunded as I was promised by the car dealer during my purchase. Not so Fast!

I called Royal Admin and they asked me to put it in writing, which I did that same day just to get a letter in the mail telling me that I was out of luck!
When I inquired they told me that their secret calculator showed that they do not owe me anything because they paid for claims on my account and that the balance paid exceeds certain magical benchmarks and referred me to their policy.

Well, that was not nice and was not fair! I paid for 4 years, I used 2 year and any five year old will agree that they owe me the difference. I filed a complaint with the A/G and the BBB and got their response in form of copy of policy that was 5 pages long that I never saw! The dealer had me sign the last page when I was picking up my car in a hurry thinking that it was a policy confirmation. I was not giving the run down but I remembered clearly that when I asked about termination, the dealer was adamant that it was eligible for retro credit: "you only pay for the portion used" That was the answer I received.

This is deceptive, unethical, highway robbery! Buyer be aware!
