ordered some jeep cherokee fender flare that rusty's offroad makes for jeep cherokees. this is rustys own brand. recieved and checked them out about 2 weeks before i decided i did not like look or fit on my 1999 jeep cherokee. called to get a return authorization number and the lady there told me if i return them even though they are still in plastic they came in but not in same box they would charge me a 20percent restock fee. i argued with her said they would be in a ups box she said because they had to put in one of their boxes witch are basically the same they have to charge me 20% anyways. i told her it was bull sh-t and she goes off on me cursing at me like i'm the bad guy for wanting my money back. then she lets me talk to owner rusty and he proceeds to tell me that their return and warranty info is in writing in their ad but when i checked about return info can't find any info. i told him is this the way they practice business all the time and is it common practice to rip off veterns and disabled people for their hard earned money. he said this was a standard business practice. when i asked about other manufactures of offroad products he said their products are junk and made in china and went off on a spheel about american made products and people like me that byuy chinese products, thats why we are in a recession because of people like me. i told him either give me my money back afer i return products that are new yet or i would report them to anywhere i could including the better business beureu, he said go ahead he did not care. i said i would and asked again if he treats all service members like this and he just kept making excuses and said if i spend my return refund at rustys then i get the credit back. i hung up. people like this make me sick!

They are correct, if you return something just because you don't like it or whatever, it's very common to get charged a restocking fee.  Not just after market parts but many other industries.

If you are returning something because it's defective in some way it's a different thing entirely.

It may not seem fair to you but it's not unusual at all.

No, I never heard of this company before now.
