I sold a camera on ebay. User bought it now then cancelled his order and tried to say that it wasnt him who purchased it. The next day I got an email saying it was him and that it was verified. Then I got an email from him using a false paypal emailing system that said the funds where on hold until I emailed a verification number from ups that said the item was shipped. Two days later I got another email saying that I need to western union 200 more dollars to the buyers address because 500 dollars was not enough to put into my paypal account.

After I read this I notified paypal and they informed me that the the individuals email address ruthdavids1@yahoo.com was not on file in their system. They also informed me that they would never ask for you to western union money to anywhere and that they would not hold your money and ask you to mail the item. Paypal has also told me the Nigeria has the highest scam percentage at the current time.

So I recommend to anyone doing anything through that country be very cautious. I hope I can help someone and possible save someone from being in the same position I am in now. BE CAREFUL
