Samsung refuses to repair their own device by claiming a wrong diagnosis.
Please DONT buy Samsung Galaxy phones. I say please, because you will get hurt a lot at the end. Not 100 or 200 dollars, you will loose 500 up to 700 dollars.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II. I paid for 695 and used it only a few months. No, I am not a rich, I am just a victim of Samsung.
One day, the screen went black and I sent it to Samsung repair service under its warranty. After 3 days Samsung wrote an email as my phone shipped back to me as BER meaning Beyond Economical Repair. I made a search online for BER and found out that they have sent to phone back without repairing the device, claiming that there is water corrosion on the motherboard.
I called Samsung and Louise listened my concern and advised me to speak to Executive Customer Relations to solve the problem.
Please make a search online for Samsung BER means, and you will face 100s of complains with the same issue. Their phone have never been exposed to water but Samsung claimed the problem as BER and had sent back their phone without repair. Those phones are not all Samsung Galaxy phones, what I understand, most Samsung phones get corrupted by so called water damage.
My Galaxy note II has never been exposed to water. It was never even been near water. So, does Samsung lie about water damage in order not to repair expensive phones like Galaxy Note II. Probably YES. Since there are a lot of negative reviews about the same issue, there has to be some reality about those misdiagnosises.
I called Samsung again and I was one of the lucky customers who could reach Samsung Executive Customer Relations. After being transferred to Joe then to Phillip and then to Chrystal who is a supervisor in advanced technical service, she got convinced to transfer me to Kevin who is the Executive Customer Relations supervisor.
You will see when you read those reviews online, some of those victims were able to replace their phone somehow after speaking to Executive customer relations but you may not be that lucky person to get your phone replaced by Samsung. I was not either. Kevin insisted that my phone had been corrupted by water, I explained him several time that my phone has never been near water anytime, it was not even exposed to rain since it doesn’t rain a lot in California. My phone have been stayed in its leather pouch all time being I had this phone, plus I am very careful and literate not to speak with any phone under rain.
Many of the Samsung phone competitors including Apple and LG, of which I have used before, they are resistant up to some degree to slight rain and humidity.
Kevin claimed that humidity might corrupt my phone by time since he had nothing else to say. Imagine you buy a 700 dollars Samsung phone and you can not even use it in Texas or in Seattle because of humidity. Even 5 years old children can lough to that but it is the reality: Samsung says humidity can corrupt your Samsung phone by time and you will need to throw your 700 dollars to trash.
I will have my phone without repairs Tomorrow. I am sure the phone has never been near water and there was not any kind of water visible stain on or in the monitor. First thing, I will do, I have a friend who is experienced in Samsung phone repairs and I will ask his opinion if there is any trace of water on the circuits. Most probably he will supply an official report to me indicating there is no water stains on the circuits. So then, you will decide by yourself if Samsung is lying about their diagnosis or if any kind of humidity causes liquid corruption in the motherboard of Samsung mobile devices. In both cases Samsung phones are not worth to buy whether Samsung misdiagnoses when it gets broken or it easily gets corrupted by humidity.
As a conclusion rational people WON’T invest 100s of dollars for Samsung phones after knowing this reality.

UPDAATE of Samsung cell phone scam

UPDATE
Those Samsung phones can't stand a bit humidity and gets defective at a moment in use under slight rain and snow, I will ask the question from everyone why to buy Samsung phones if his sisters and brothers such as LG, iPhone can stand those conditions and still work perfectly afterwards.
Moreover Samsung will claim for most defective phones which are under warranty that the phone has contacted with water and they are out of warranty to be repaired free like my Samsung Note II which has never been in touch with any kind of water form.
Let me explain why? After speaking with Executive department manager who replied that my phone is out of warranty because of, Quote and quote, water damage. Then he insisted seriously about the voided warranty, I kindly asked how much it would be the repair cost. He promised me he would learn it and call me within 24 hours BUT he never did call back. I also told him seriously that I will service the defective phone to an authorized Smart phone repair center and let them check if my phone ever been in contact with water.
The manager told me they will send the defective un repaired phone immediately with UPS 2 days air. Next day UPS sent me an email indicating the delivery had been delayed for 2 more days. I looked the tracking number online and has noticed that the phone has been returned to sender (to Samsung) back. I received the phone after 4 days. I throw the phone aside. Next day, I tried to power it…. Tata - taaa the phone worked despite being sent un repaired. No, no, don't be happy too quick, unfortunately the phone had lost some of its functions after their repair, such as writing on phone with the stylus and a few more functions.
Voila, that proofs to us besides their dishonesty that they are not even able to repair their own phones. They brake other parts while trying to fix those weekly built electronics. Shame on you Samsung.
Overall, Samsung was very dishonest and really had fought seriously about the water damage by pretending it as it had happened. Since I told the Samsung manager I will bring the phone to another expert for second opinion, therefore I believe, later they asked my phone back from UPS to repair it under warranty.
Voila, that proves to us their management's dishonesty.
On the other end after Samsung manager said they won't definitely repair it, next day I purchased an iPhone which is really super, duper indeed, comparing Samsungs, . Naturally, I couldn't be without a phone long time because of my business. I paid for iPhone much less than Samsung Note II and since I bought it from eBay to save a bit on the price, the seller didn't accept returns unless it is DOA (defective).
Finally, I will NEVER and EVER BUY any Samsung products. Lesson learned. Their products sucks. Their customer service and management sucks. They are shamefully dishonest. Finally Samsung products may get easily defective under regular conditions because they are poorly designed.
As a conclusion of my experience with Samsung, I just want to warn others about Samsung products and recommend you "Please, please NEVER and EVER invest on overpriced and week Samsung products" for which there is unfortunately any kind of Aspirin when you will have a big headache by this company and their products.

reality eh...

Let me give you more reality. Its not just "rain" that can cause problems. Steam will do it too. If you have ever talked on the phone in the bathroom after a hot shower, you will activate the water tab. This is litmis paper. They have 2-3 spots on the phone where Litmis paper is placed. On the battery, on the back of the phone and internally. If any of these tabs have turned red then it has been exposed to levels of moisture that can cause corrosion. Keeping it in a Otterbox will normally protect your device from that level of exposure. Its unfortunate that Samsung ruled this way, but you have to take a step back and look at it from a larger viewpoint. If your device has water damage and Samsung replaces it for you, then they have to do it for EVERYONE. Thats not good business. Samsung would be rewarding you for your own mistakes. Take resposability for your own phone. Samsung didnt decide that since it was YOUR phone they were going to deny your claim. A tech has examined your phone and found that there was indeed some form of water damage. Accept it and move on. Take better care of your devices in the future. Obviously keeping it in a leather pouch wasnt a great idea. Use heavier forms of protection. Otterbox, Lifeproof, Morphie all make an excellent product that will give you extra protection against drops and greater protection from the elements.
