I attended this school from Jan 2009 through March 2010 and it was the worst mistake I've ever made. The admission's representative feed you a pack of lies. He advised me that the program I was going into Dental Assisting with expanded functions had a 90 to 95% placement rate when it came to getting hired. When asked for a guarantee he stated that he couldn't write it down but rest assured all graduates from Sandford Brown have no problem procuring a position in their career choice. He also stated that the dental program was accreditated with the ADAA.
Needless to say I was excited and started my classes approx 6 months into classes the program director came around talking about externship. She stated that she had 2 "books" in her possession. One that guaranteed you'd get a job and the other was just for you to make up your 320 externship hours. As you can imagine she was full of it. Not only did we have to find our own externship sites, we had to pay for the externship. Each student had to pay $2750 just for the externship. The office I was placed in did not care that I needed a broad range of experience. They stuck me in cleanings and x-rays for the entire two months I was there. When i called the program director she could care less stating that the externship site knows what they're doing and would make sure I was properly trained.
After doing a brutal 320 hrs the only position I can qualify for is a hygienist asst as I have never assisted the doctor. The office manager told me that they have no intention of hiring any new assistants and the lead assistant confirmed that they only take the externs because of the funds they receive. I'm so furious with this school and its practices. I have contacted an attorney to see if they will file a class action lawsuit as I have 13 other students who are wanting to join in the lawsuit. If anyone knows of a lawyer that is willing to take our case or if you are already in the works of a class action lawsuit. Please let me know. My email address is (((redacted))). Thanks

Since my last contact I have spoken with Attorney Talley and he would like me to find as many current or former students of Sanford Browns Sonography progam to start a class action lawsuit. If you are attending this school or are a former student of this school please follow the link that is posted on the prior report and let him know of the problems you've had. This school is a total sham and has ruined many people's lives with their lies.

I was one of the first ones to post a message about this ripoff school. I'm sorry that either you didn't know about this site prior to signing up. I have tried everything possible to get this school closed down. I contacted CAAHEP since they weren't accredited but claimed they were I called the Dept of Education and their corporate office, all to no avail. I contacted an attorney to see if I could start a class action lawsuit and was told I couldn't. My wages are now being garnished to pay back the loan that was paid to this scam school. My wages are being garnished at 400. a month. I no longer can afford to pay for just basic living expenses. My house is going into forclosure, my car is being close to being repoed. All because I thought that I would be bettering myself for the future. As I mentioned in my prior report I was unable to finish my studies because once they found out I was seeing an attorney and posted my comments here they put false documents in my file and kicked me out So spread the word as far as you can to let everyone know about this school. I was even going to go out and picket them on Hillsborough Ave.
