This guy (we will call him Ro since I don't know his name) is on instagram and he sent a follow request to me and I accepted for some dumb reason. I followed him back and saw he has all these posts with lots of money flashing and shopping and nice meals. He tells his followers that if they want to get in on some quick cash to text him. I noticed he has changed his number at least once. Anyway, I wa low on cash and thought I would just see what he said, so I sent a text. He answered a while later and said he had some program to intercept wire transfers and he could turn $300 into $3200. I said I wouldn't have any cash for almost 2 weeks so I would get back to him. I really wanted to get the extra money so I could save it to get my bf his license squared away and buy him a car when he gets out of jail in 4 months, so I decided to take money I had sitting in my account waiting for a check to clear and use it for this. Anyway, he said to go to a Moneygram location and gave me the info of who to send it to and to make up a code so tjere would be no ID needed to pick up. He said to make sure there was an 8 digit code and not a 9 digit because it wouldn't work with a 9. So I sent the money and gave him the reference number. Then he wanted my name and address and stuff. He said it was to put it into his system. What he didnt know was that I had a friend do it who used a fake name and address, a male name. So when I gave him the info, he was confused as to why I gave a male name and I said its just a name it doesnt matter. Anyhow, he said it would take 45 to an hour to go through the system. I texted him after an hour and asked if it went through. He replied that I must have given him the wrong password and that was the last I had heard of him. I sent several texts asking to please send my money back after calling moneygram to cancel the transfer and they said it was already picked up. He never answered and I had checked my Instagram and he had blocked me. So I lost $250 by being a greedy idiot.
