We all know these sales-calls ending with: and if you don't like out product you can send it back/keep it without any obligation to you!

Well, I am aware of these and therefore instructed my wife to decline the offer of the "sample Baby-book" free of charge. "No, I do not want you to send me a book. Not even if i get to keep it for free".

I have been around the block a few times and have come to realize that "FREE" is too expensive for me.
So, we declined the offer to even receive the "free Sample-book". And we never did get any book in the mail from above mentioned company. But we did receive a statement today, 02/05/03, that our payment of $8.53 was past due.

Now, it took me a while to figure out what it was, we supposedly purchased, since it was addressed to "the Parents of Sebastian, our son.( And he could not have ordered the books considering he is only 6 months old).

So it became quite clear to me that some one was trying to "pull one over" on us, especially once I could not locate a Phone Number anywhere on that "late-statement" to talk to someone to set things straight.

Well, what do you do if you can't contact the claimant?

Not pay, of course.

And, in case Scholastic due to some freakish co-incident should be reading this: NOOOOO, WE DO NOT WANT YOUR BOOKS! NOT YESTERDAY, NOT TODAY, NOT TOMORROW, NEVER. YOU HEAR?!
