I have been receiving telemarketing calls from Sears at this phone number (877) 285-1889 everyday. I was told that they (Sears) has a new vacation lay away plan. It works like most layaway plans, you give them a deposit and pay a monthly fee toward your vacation. The vacation is choosen from a large data base of hotel packages which are 4 and 5 star accredited.I asked for the plan information to be sent to me and was told they couldn't do that. I said I do not do any business over the phone but if they could give me their web address I would possibly consider it. I was told they can't do this either. They informed me that this is a limited time offer so they don't have the time to do what I asked. When I said again that I don't do business over the phone the sales rep. got snotty and said it's my loss and hung up on me! This is a big Scam!

SEARS VACATIONS PROGRAM

AUTHOR: sire0807 - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 25, 2014

This is not a scam, but it is a telemarketing "boiler room". I retired recently from Sears, after 15-plus years as a Brand Central Sales Associate, & know the program is legit. They do get access to some good deals, so I would recommend that you channel your frustration and not "cut your own nose off in spite of your face", so to speak. The caller was probably the "typical" FRUSTRATED  telemarketing employee under tremendous pressure to sell to leads ( thus their "snotty" closing remarks).

This is a relatively new service they are "test driving" through contacts in the travel industry.  They have some buying clout and would definately like to have positive word of mouth your perception of the program, rather than labeling it "a scam".

I suggest, if you have the time, to send feedback on your experience to the corporate officer responsible for overall supervision of this program. Their web addy is: http://www.searsholdings.com/  ; their "snail mail" is:

Sears Holdings Corporation

3333 Beverly Road
Hoffman Estates, IL 60179
(847) 286-2500

I think that Jeff Balagna, their reasonably new, Executive Vice President And Chief Information Officer would like to help you feel better about a bad experience with one of their products/services. He certainly knows who heads up this telemarketing division.

If you can't find the actual person to complain to contact, (or don't have the time to research them) generic complaints can be addressed to:http://www.sears.com/csemail/nb-100000000020508?adCell=W3 or via:  http://ecorporateoffices.com/Sears-551

Hope this will be of some help.
