securitas Fired because of 5 o'clock shadow. hopkinton, Massachusetts

I worked for Securitas for a little over a year.  My first site was in a different location and had no problems for the 7months I was there.  Then I transfered over to the Hopkinton site where my troubles began.  The supervisor there..James Wellman repeadedly gave me warning slips for  basically having a 5 o'clock shadow on my face. He claimed that it wasnt proper hygeine and not following the company manual.  The company manual states no beards, goat-tees, handlebars or vangaughs. I had none of them, you could not even pinch the hair growth on my face.  Also, mind you, the site supervisor James who handed me these slips....had a full grown beard. I felt like he was discriminating against me for what ever reasons I have no idea.  He clearly didnt want me there and was looking for a way to get rid of me.  Which when you look back on these rip-off reports it seems that this company is known for harrassement, discrimination and bad reputation.  Well, the warnings eventually ended up having me removed from that site.  I was told that I could call human resources and I had 30 days to accept a different site location offer. What? Any how I called human resources and they offered me 3 different jobs alright.  They were certainly not compadable with what I was previously working.  I was going from 40hr work week, days Mon-Fri. to 12-24 hrs a week, weekends, night shifts and over 50 miles away. So, needless to say, I did not accept any of the offers.
When I tried to collect unemployment they told the office that I had quit my job by not accepting one of their offers by the 30 days. Oh hell no.....I appealed it and had a hearing.  Of course Securitas had one of their people there to try and block the decision but after 2 days, the decision was over turned in my FAVOR.
Dont let companies or their people who work for them get away with this kind of treatment. You can stand up and win these cases.  How this company is still in business right now I will never know.  There are so many bad reports and civil court actions against this company.  The people who wear the titles(like supervisor) are the little people trying to feel big by mistreating others. Its so pitiful.  If your looking for a security company for your company....do your research and check out what the world is screaming to you reguarding this company.  If they treat their own employees like this it does not speak well for them at all. You can find better. And if your an employee....It can and will happen to you as it did me...BEWARE.
