Sensory Science Sold non-working DVD SD404. Scottsdale Arizona

I purchased a DVD from Sensory Science (Model SD404) and when I connected DVD Player I found that remote does not work and that DVD Player function buttons don't work either. Cannot open DVD door using remote or Player "Open Door" button.
This equipment is totaly useless and nothing on unit or remote works even with new batteries.
I called Customer Service Number listed in owners manual and a recording states that "Station no longer in service". Went to Website listed and found nothing that would help me resolve this problem.
