I called this company for lockout service on my vehicle. On the phone they said the cost was $29 for the technician to come out plus a service fee depending on the work he needed to do to open my car. Which they said started at $25.So I agreed, when the technician came he said the cost was $29, plus $170 service fee. I was like no, bait on switch, he lowered the price to $140 but I was still like that is NO WHERE close to $25 the person on the phone said, which was ridiculous. It was Extortian, and Bait AND Switch.

I think I was overcharged and would like a refund. I should refute the charge with the credit card company.

If you had told me the correct price over the phone I would feel different.

While its unfortunate that you feel you were ripped off, there is a REALITY here that you are completely ignoring in order to play a better victim. The reality is THIS.....How much would it have costs YOU to replace your window?? If you just called the first locksmith in your area, then yep, YOU are the problem. So go ahead and dispute the charges on your credit card. Go ahead and SCREW someone out of their paycheck because YOU were in an emergency situation and needed IMMEDIATE assistance. Go ahead and SCAM just like every other American out there. EVERYTHING COSTS!!!!! Unless you are carrying a slimjim in your purse and are trained on how to use it, you will have to deal with situations like this. You will have to PAY no matter what. The price quoted OVER THE PHONE is a opening costs and they told you that it will cost more depending on the situation. How is this hard to understand?? So what 6-700 bucks for a new window installed plus maybe some stiches because lets face it you WOULD be breaking a window OR under $200 for a locksmith to come out and retrieve the keys YOU locked in the car. Seems pretty cut and dry. It ALWAYS amazes me how LOW people like you are on the critical thinking ladder. One would THINK that if cost was so much of an issue that YOU would have called around and checked prices. One would THINK that YOU as an ADULT would be MORE responsible with your keys. One would THINK that YOU as an adult would understand a little thing called ECONOMICS, specifically CAPITOLISM ECONOMICS since you live in the US. Things cost MONEY!!! SERVICES cost MONEY!!!! NOTHING in life is free with two exceptions. Sunlight and AIR!! EVERYTHING else costs. While its admirable that you wish to save money, its despicable that you would A. Consider STEALING from them AFTER the job has been done. and B. Spending all this time to make a post whining about having to pay for a service that YOU called for because YOU left the keys in the car and YOU don't have a spare or a backup for when a situation like this happens. YOU act like they are MONSTERS for being a skilled laborer. In all of this YOU have some responsibility. YOU have to accept YOUR part in all of this BEFORE you can go blaming THEM for the choices YOU made that day. All THEY do is come when YOU called. They were open and honest and upfront and explained that there may be more charges. YOU are confusing the amount quoted as the WHOLE PRICE of the job. The $29 is to get a locksmith out there, the service fee is for the job. I guess you excel in making posts but FAIL when it comes to simple economics. Since YOU are NOT a locksmith, AND you have NO TRAINING in being a locksmith, how in ANY stretch of the imagination can you sit there and blame them for wanting to be paid?? Oh that's right, since YOU had to pay for it THEY must be the evil monsters who setup the situation so that YOU would lock your keys in the car..........Typical of the female creature and HIGHLY typical of the American Consumer. YOU fail in your understanding of life and of simple conversations. Stop playing the victim because YOU had to pay for something.
