Snopes.com acts as if they are the leading expert on fact-checking and "exposing the truth" on various subjects, when in fact they are a bunch of scammers. Numerous times they have published COMPLETELY FALSE INFORMATION as if it is true. They engage in extremely poor "research" practices, and they are 100% swayed by their 'donors' as to what information they decide to publish. They're an absolute disgrace and should be shut down.
