Stay away from this company.  He is a shyster.  He appears upfront and caring at the first meeting then afterwards, is where he nails you.  He subcontracts his services to students where he teaches college at.  These are inexperienced people, who show up late, and have no knowledge of what to do.  They come ill prepared and will ruin your event.  We didn't find out about this until approximately 2 weeks prior to a wedding.  Then we were notified by Dr. McCluskey that the DJ, Whitney....Whitney who is Whitney???

We hired him...and he goes well if you specifically wanted me we needed to add this to the contract...well duh..that is why we were meeting him to hire his services...then at the last minute he cancels out Whitney and informs us that Troy will be doing the event.   Troy..now who is he?  We had no knowledge of this man, personality and as most  people know a good DJ runs the show.  Not this man...he was an intorvert, didn't know how to turn on the mike so it won't squeal, won't talk into the mike hardly at all, plus he lied and said I didn't pay him in full when he was in fact paid. 

He showed up an hour late, without wireless mikes and then stands there going here is a "corded" mike.  The video they created was totally unprofessional and the "driver" of the DJ was the one shooting it....duh?? What is wrong with this picture?  Then when you go to settle the dispute, Dr. McCluskey will do ever attempt to slander you, calling you names which is totally unprofessional.  He fails to provide the services to which you contract for.  Stay away from this company.  Reports have been filed at the BBB and pissed consumer on this company.

Starfire Professional DJ Entertainment Services performs about 200 dances every year. Any company that does a lot of business is bout to do one for an individual who is continually dissatisfied about everything he/she does. In this age some people want everything for nothing. All business will get complaints. How those businesses take care of those complaints is what separates good businesses from bad businesses.

As the owner and operator of Starfire I've found that society is producing more and more complainers. Notice this complaint was over 2 1/2 years ago.  In that time we have provided very professional DJ Entertainment services using only the best equipment to over 1,000 customers: and we treat each one individually as though they were first-time customers. We provide unlimited pre-event music planning, use only broadcast-quality/name brand equipment, and always arrive at least 1/2 to 2 hours before the first guests come.

We would not have been in business very long, especially over 33 years, if we treated ANY customers like this. We have over 70 writted and signed pages of reviews from actual customers who have written: "awesome," "the best DJ ever," couldn't ask for a better show," and repeatedly almost every week" "Starfire's light show is the best I've ever seen." We would not receive those kinds of comments over and over if we gave people sub-standard service.  And we are usually doing at least one dance event every week.

We do appreciate the feedback from our customers.  It has been my experience that the people who are most willing to compain in an attempt to slander and libel someone's good name are the cheap ones who just want to get their money back. We've witnessed some of these people in action. One bride complained about every vendor she had from the florist and venue owner to the cake, the DJ and the caterer. She did it to get her money back and when she did from some of them, she still used this and other on-line reviews to file very negative complaints.

Unfortunately there are some people like this in the world. We are very appreciative for all our customers and typically get glowing reviews which I'm very proud of having on file. It shows you really care, just like we really care and bend over backwards going the extra mile to see that you are pleased. You must agree some people in this society can never be pleased and are in a continual state of being negative about everything. Starfire gets is share of those kinds of people.

The Keepsake video we provide is FREE. We use a digital camera, not a 40 pound big TV station camera (although we do have one available for an extra charge). Obviously this person misunderstood and thought FREE meant the highest quality. It's not. It's purpose is so you don't have to have a family member or guest do it. However, the images are crystal clear (auto focus), digital and very nice. 

Obviously this person and a few others complain about everythinig. Our prices unfortunately do sometimes attract some of these kinds of people, but the majority of our clients are very nice people and are always satisfied. Even big companies like Wal-Mart, Meijer, McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, General Motors, Ford, Nissan and all the others get thousands of complaints every year.

We would encourage you to be open minded, use the good mind God gave you, take an unbiased position, have a BALANCED perspective, talk with me about your needs and I will personally provide you the services you need. Our rates are among the lowest in the business but our quality is first rate. We use only the best equipment with names like Bose and JBL, lighting from American DJ and Chauvet, and even blend music with Virtual DJ and audio mixers from NuMark.

Sorry this is so long, but after over 33 years it is these kinds of customes that P*^% me off. But we take it in stride, trusting that God will forgive them as we have done.
