STARLIGHT CAMERA RIPOFF BROOKLYN New York
*Consumer Suggestion: Avoid NY an NJ Shops
After placing my order on the internet, a salesperson called me and said what a great choice of a digital camera I made and he had one at his home.
He then asked me if I needed any memory cards or batteries. I said I had these. HE then told me my camera would arrive in a few days.
I happened to check my e-mail after hanging up and lo and behold my order was canceled (e-mail said "Cancel Order) They use price and on there web page the words "Shop With Confidence" What a rip-off. As others have said all they want is to sell you more expensive accessories.
Don't shop with this business!!!!!!

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Avoid NY an NJ Shops
AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, November 15, 2004
Virtually all mailorder camera shops in NY and NJ are ripoffs, avoid them ALL. If you've ever seen pictures of the actual shops they'd look like real rat traps. Just because they advertise in well-known photo magazines or have nice web sites means NOTHING. They offer dramatically low prices on the cameras the try gouging you on very overpriced accessories. Isn't it curious that the accessories they offer are brands you've never heard of? There's a reason for that. Noname brands are of the lowest quality and the can be marked up to rather obscene levels. How would you compare price/quality?
Be very aware that many of these same 'Scam-A-Ramas' operate on major web auction sites as well.
Save your money and buy from well-known web merchants.
