We recieved a letter dated 5/17/07 from Starluck Casinos...stating my uncle Rick had won $98,000,000.00 and attatched was a check for $3,975.00 for paying taxes.

Wow, what a Blessing we thought, since Rick was in the process of buying a new house & just in time for the downpayment.

So i contacted the ph# on the letter (604)338-2549 Which is in Canada through phone# ID check...The man who answered the phone stated his name was Anthony Owens & he was assigned to our case he asked for the ticket #382-527-341, he then stated we were being recorded for security purposes. This should have been advised before any conversation took place.

He then advised that we needed to cash the check $3,975.00 before 6/01/07 or we would forfeit the winnings. The money would then be used to pay taxes on the $98,000,000.00 which would be sent by fedx & need to be signed for. He advised i would need to call him back after we cash the check. This seemed unusually easy, so i contacted the issuer of the check:

I spoke with a representive & she was very helpful but advised me they have recieved 100's of calls & unfortunately they have no dealings with StarLuck Casinos & this was a Fraud, they have contacted the FBI to handle this. She then told me i should give a copy of the check to my bank so that they will not process these checks & it will help others.

These people only want your checking account #s to make illegal withdrawals
