State Farm Insurance Deceptive homeowners policy renewal Bloomington, Illinois

At the time of my homeowners insurance renewal, buried within the renewal was a sentence saying the following "unless you tell us otherwise, your deductible will go from $500 to $1,000. Naturally neither my wife or I noticed the "disclaimer". Only when we had a claim did we discover our deductible was increased to $1,000 without our approval.

This practice is against FTC guidelines and we have filed a complaint with the PA Insurance Department. No resolution as yet. The complaint filed with State Farm was denied.
