On 3/17/2008 I attended with my daughter a 90 minute seminar regarding how to pass the civil test, and get Government jobs. I attended this seminar because of a careerbuilder type ad that I received in my local newspaper.

After the seminar the well dressed individuals said that SNTS had a home study course which we could purchase that would help one pass the civil test.
The course was $995, but if one paid the whole amount we would get $100 off. I paid $895.00.

When I got home I read the small print and it stated that if i wanted to cancel i should do it within 3 days. On 3/19/2008 I called the number that I was given, but no one picked up. I called non stop for 2 weeks, with no luck. On 3/26/2008 I called my credit card company and cancelled the transaction and told them that I believed this was a scam. In fact I went on line on 3/19/2008 and discovered that it was a scam. I also called my local Police station, who informed me that I should call the location where the seminar was being held.

It is so sad that there are people out there praying on gullible people like myself. Shame on them.

Rebuttal to SNTS inc. and "Michael Bell" their "employee"

AUTHOR: Pam - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 23, 2008

The SNTS employee Michael Bell is stating in all of his rebuttals that the State National Training Service has an EXCELLENT record with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). He is copying and pasting the same false information in all of the rebuttals with punctuation errors and typos included.

I have been on the BBB website; it states that BBB Accredidation was revoked on 1/18/2008. Please Michael updates your information. SNTS INC. has been revoked in January 2008, while you are writing on here in May 2008 claiming to have excellent record with them. This is just more proof that this company is a scam and they will truly do anything to convince people otherwise.

This is a link to the BBB website that says SNTS is revoked

I am shocked that they are allowed to hold these rip off seminars. I hope people will not be scammed by this as I was.

#1 UPDATE Employee

In regards to your complaint

AUTHOR: Michael Bell - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 20, 2008

I would like to assure you that SNTS is not a scam and has been approved by the
NJ Department of Ed since 1991. While you may have seen some negative feedback,
we can provide an overwhelming amount of testimonials that favor our services
from people who benefited from our program. Keep in mind that as a national
company, we enroll thousands of students nation wide and therefore inevitably
will have those few complaints from people who cannot make the necessary
commitment. As a company with an excellent record with the BBB, our record will
show that we strive to resolve these issues as swiftly and efficiently as
possible

As a homestudy course, the responsibility is placed solely on the student
because as with any school, your results are directlt correlated to the amount
of effort you put into it. The representative who described this process to you
should have made it perfectly clear that this is a commitment to yourself as
much as it is to the program, in hopes of avoiding this issue.
In relation to the problem with our phone lines, I can assure you this was not premeditated and as is the case with any company, we are at the mercy of technology.

Although we are living in a time where information and communication seem to be taken for granted, there are those few times where problems arise to show us what a
necessity it truly is. We apologize that this coincided with your attempt to cancel.

As an educational institution, we strive to provide a basis for our students to
succeed, but only if they desire to do so. In no way, shape, or form are we
attempting to provide these services to those who do not want them. However,
like any other school, once you have begun our course we do expect you to finish
it.
