I am submitting this as a warning to anyone who is thinking of hiring Steve Sybesma. Please read this through as the things I list on here, no background check will supply, but are pertinent in respect to maintaining a decent workplace.

I am a former coworker of his and he made the work environment at my company a living hell for many people the entire time he was here. Amongst the things Mr. Sybesma has done is verbally abuse and threaten people over the phone (including his ex-wife and a tenant of his), be argumentative and belligerent with coworkers and managers, disrupt other people's work, and harass colleagues when they didn't want anything to do with them or refused to be his "friend." He was extremely arrogant and would always throw around how long he'd been in the department or how much experience he had while arguing with people.

He once had to be escorted out of an eatery by security guards nearby for making a public scene when they caught him trying to use his badge to illegitimately get a discount, and proceeded to make threats in front of coworkers over the incident about how "nobody treats me that way" and "they won't get away with this, I'll show them." Another time a vendor of ours had to call and tell him to stop hassling their customer service reps because he was so aggressive. These are just a couple of many examples that if I kept going would take up way too much space.

He was repeatedly disciplined and eventually demoted, and each time he threw fits and said he didn't understand why management was "doing this to me." He did the same thing when he was passed over for promotions or new positions that opened up.

On top of this he was very incompetent with his work in general. Everyone felt he created a hostile work environment and wondered why he was still around. It was well-known that his HR file was inches thick full of printed complaints.

After attempting to work with him numerous times, including making him get help for his anger problems and suspending him at one point, the company finally terminated his employment. He subsequently remained in the parking lot for six hours, at one point blocking an entrance to an adjacent building, before the police were notified and he was escorted off the property.

As with previous times he pretended to not understand why they "did this to him" and sent emails to former colleagues going on about it. A few days later he called someone in the company bragging he found a new job.

I certainly hope that he doesn't cause problems for his new work as he did with me and my colleagues. It would be nice to know that what I say can sit on a shelf and collect dust because it's no longer relevant. But in the event he continues to be a troublemaker for other employers I thought it best to get this out there so it's known that he has a history of behaving this way.

Disclaimer: I am posting this voluntarily under the approval of my attorney, Anthony J. Sturniolo, Esq.

I acknowledge that I am Karen Bradley and I submitted the original post about Mr. Sybesma almost three years ago. At the time, I believed what I submitted to be true without qualification.

My intent was to hold Steve accountable for what I perceived to be injurious behavior towards myself and other colleagues. It was a rash, emotionally-based decision.

In corresponding with Steve after he posted his first rebuttal, I realized I did this without having both sides of the story. Given my misunderstandings, it was inappropriate for me to vent my grievances publicly.

As Mr. Sybesma stated in his last post, I apologized to him personally over a year and a half ago. My retraction of my opinion here is a further attempt to amend the situation.

In closing, I ask that any readers of this content not take what is here into consideration when deciding whether Mr. Sybesma possesses the ability to be a good employee. Again my post was a misinformed opinion for which I have since apologized, and Mr. Sybesma and I have resolved this matter privately.

Been a while since my rebuttal and I'm trying to put through a second one.

I've tried before, but for some reason it didn't go through.

I confirmed that Karen Bradley was the person well over a year ago.

She saw my first rebuttal and figured out how to contact me.

I met up with her and her husband and her child at a restaurant in Boulder.

She apologized profusely and sincerely. I fully accepted the apology.

What the problem is now is that this site won't remove the entire thread and insist this falsity which damages two people (one who was the victim of libel and one who I want to forgive for the libel) remain forever.

This is the true evil, no longer the initial posting.

As an individual that has worked with both of these persons, I have to concur with Steve's assessment that this is indeed Karen Bradley, particularly based on her writing style. She is well known for posting enormous amounts of blog and web site posts against co-workers, family and friends, both fictional (often times vicious) and factual.

In this case, the fact is that she was not someone in a supervisory or managerial position at Northrup, and therefore is not in a position to post this type of complaint against Steve with any type of authoritative merit. These types of staff level complaints should not be allowed as they, more often times than not, amount to nothing more than a personality conflict that should not be allowed to ruin an individual's future earnings potential.

Here is hoping that both Steve and Karen move on to focus on their careers and continued personal growth while battling disorders.

Sorry Steve but you've got the wrong person...

... and whoever this Karen is, if she ever comes across what you've had to say about your character assassinations of her here, it'll be interesting what she has to say about YOUR claims on her behalf. I'm sure glad they aren't directed at me because they sound awfully nasty and vindictive.

You sound like you have one hell of a vendetta against this person to spend that much time obsessing about her. Perhaps it's you who owes her an apology.

Well folks, as they say:

1) Whatever evil gets done in secret is found out sooner or later, and;

2) There are two sides to every story

Hello, I'm the person this posting is about. I'm not posting anonymously because I did no wrong, have nothing to be ashamed of and am entitled to defend my good name against these lies and blatant, maliciously exaggerated libelous statements.

I just found this posting today. The person who posted it is (I'm 99.99% sure) Karen, since she's the only person in the company who hated me, made it far too obvious and made a regular effort to let me know it, and repeatedly looked for opportunities to get me in trouble and did so I happen to know on at least two occasions, maybe more. She was probably the very reason I was fired. I'm a little less certain I was fired because of her than I am of who posted this.
I'd be my life and everything I own that she posted this. I have zero doubt.

She's the only person who could have known any of the situations that she so horribly exaggerated and she's the only person of all the employees I worked with that had a problem with me despite my trying to be nice to her many times.
My theory on why is set forth a few paragraphs below.

We worked in a small area of the building where there were only a few of us. That was until April 2006 when I asked to be moved away from her because she was acting in an extremely hostile manner to me and she was causing me to be depressed. I never did anything but try to be nice to her, but my personality must have grated on her because I wasn't as quiet a person as she was even though we both suffer to a degree from the same personality disorder (Asperger Syndrome). However, in addition to that, she has a severe mental problem bordering on the psychotic that compels her to libel people anonymously on the internet whom she hates. That's pretty inexcusable.

Karen, if you hate someone, it's best to just ignore them. If you can't do that, get some help instead of libeling people and trying to destroy their lives by denying them a livelihood. You really are a mean-spirited, sick woman. All your ill-will against me is not going to affect my employment chances, but I hate to think what's going to happen when your attempt to curse me here bounces back on you and hits you several times as hard. I have seen people who have done me wrong have bad things happen to them, because I didn't have the ability to fight back.

There is a God that saw what you did here. This is pure, unadulterated libel.
I've never had this happen to me in my entire life and never did anything to deserve this in any of the jobs I've ever had, and especially the job at Northrop Grumman where we both worked until last year (don't know what you're doing now that NG lost the contract with DHS - I wouldn't wish the evil on you that you wished on me here).

I worked very hard to develop good relationships with all my co-workers. You were offended because I was trying to be such a people pleaser. In fact, we had this conversation once over two years ago. You're just jealous because you don't have any ability with people. Jim (whose last name will remain anonymous) warned me about your general hatred of most men (although you are married), but I didn't take his advice and I guess I should have. You're not a very nice person.

I suffered for many years and had to learn to be a people pleaser because I grew up with people rejecting me and I was bullied, not the other way around. Now, when it comes to people screwing me out of money, of course I'm not such a nice guy, that's for sure. I do have an ability to be confrontational because I'm not a carpet that people can just walk over. But that meanness has never come out on my co-workers. It never did even one time, and you never saw that happen one time and anything short of full agreement with that from you would be you lying.

How you live with yourself after making such a libelous posting is beyond me.
You understand that by all rights I could sue you for the posting you made, and if the statute of limitations doesn't run out and I have the ability (I'm struggling financially these days) that would be an option for me at that point.

My best advice for you is to request that this entire thread be removed, because I'm not going to sit around and let the true bully (you) get away with your viciousness against me any longer. I made a lot of effort to be nice to you and you completely dissed me, but I never realized just how much until I saw your posting.

For anyone else who would like to contact me, I have nothing to be ashamed of.
I'm always nice to nice people (the vast majority of people), and I even try to be nice to mean people like Karen for a while, but then there is the day when I finally have to cut someone off and they don't like when I do (right Karen?). I'm a very shy person, and I do suffer from depression and to a degree Asperger Syndrome, which causes me to be a very aloof person and not have the ability to form committed relationships with lots of people.

To Karen, as far as I'm concerned, she can fall off the edge of the earth. I don't care about her personally. I'm done caring about her. She was very abusive toward me, at first occasionally but then solidly pretty much after early 2005. I don't have the energy to tolerate that kind of hatred against me and I can't make everyone like me. She's one bad apple out of many millions of people that are decent and don't have so much hatred in them.
I cut people off that hate me. Guess that drove her crazy when I asked to be moved away from her. Well, too bad!

I work for a large company in Boulder as a desktop support person and there is no one there that I perceive has any dislike of me - if they do, I don't know about it. They seem to be very happy to have me. I have never had one complaint yet and I've been there over a year. In my 28 years of working, I've never run into anyone quite like Karen Bradley. Wow, I'm pretty blown away by this! What does a person do in this situation when they are hit below the belt like this by someone who thinks no one knows who they are? I read stories about this happening, then it happened to me. This is dirty pool at its worst. Something has to be done to level the playing field on this kind of stuff so that people have to show who they are when they post such nasty stuff like this in a public place.

But alas, I know who did this. Simple process of deduction, and in this case because of the circumstances and physical workplace layout, far too easy to figure out. There's simply no one else who could have done this. No one else remotely like Karen's personality could have done this.

Good try Karen! Hope you're real proud. You owe me a massive apology.

I hope someday you'll have the courage to look me up and deliver that to me before the day of reckoning comes and the bad karma comes back upon you.
