April 19th of 2014 I contacted Sunny Terrace for a cream, male puppy. I paid everything but shipping in full days later. At the time I was pretty finacially stable and we had to wait until our new house was ready for us to bring our new member home. About a week before I had to send money for the shipping my fiancé and I got into a car accident. At that point it was no longer a good idea for us to bring the puppy home.

I contacted her saying we might have to postpone the puppy getting here and she was okay with it. June 26 I told her we no longer could afford the puppy and contact ceased. I kept emailing her but with no responses. I even sent her my phone number so if she could see my emails she could at least call me.

It wasn't until August 13th, when I told her she has to contact me or else I'll persue legal action when she finally emailed me back. (6 minutes later I might add! ) I told her over and over I no longer want her products because she was ignoring me for so long and not to mention she was probably lying about emailing me and me never recieving the emails. If she was emailing me and I never got them, why did her emails work now? And if she knew I wasn't getting them because I kept emailing her, why didn't she call me once she had my number? All of this is really shady and why should I risk having a problem puppy from her? She only has a 72 hour health guarntee. In that time you need to get it to a vet. Most REPUTABLE breeders as far as I know give at least 5 days or more to take them to a vet. I've even seen a few lieftime health guarantees for specific things like eyes or hips. It would just cost me more money that I don't have to keep taking it to the vet.

Though it's probably my fault for not looking into her kennel further and I know she isn't responsible for what happens financially on my end, it's really just called being a decent human being. She could have stayed in contact with me. She never sent me a puppy so she could just refund me with no loss to her. (or even just give me a partial refund. Instead of the full $1000 she could give me $800 for wasting her her time. $200 profit for emailing someone, right?) And I even mad it apparent that all of my life savings was gone because of events that transpassed that were beyond my control. I need the money for my insurance so I can go to the doctor!

All I'm saying is to avoid buying a puppy from her. It seems shady and you may just end up with bad product and she will only give you the run-around. (Please go read her warranty. The whole page looks sketchy.)

The BBB, unlike this website, requires thorough documentation from both parties to make a decision one way or another. 

The household move/tight budget/car accident was an unfortunate scenario to be sure, but this slanted "report" is shameful.  It's difficult to find a decent Shiba Inu breeder - claims like this certainly don't help consumers do valid research.
