i was receiving fake text messages continuously at the end of every billing cycle. when that became very horrible i contacted customer service whether they can block the text messages or about the person who is sending me bogus text messages. but they are saying that i need to go online to see the person who is sending the messages and i need to contact that person to tell him/her not to do that again. i wonder how the customer service person can answer like this. if a number of persons are sending me messages do i need to contact each & every one?? when i asked the customer service representative to block the messaging service they answered that they cannot do that.
So in essence i need to pay additional money for each bogus text messages i receive (+ taxes) .
if they don't have any control of the messaging service and if they don't know anything about the sender, anybody can send anything to anybody.
To me this seems weird............
So my question remain unanswered..
The only thing i can suggest is to tell my friends & relatives not to take the T-mobile service..
T-MOBILE customer service is very very very bad. they are rip off.

Block Messages

Hopefully after nearly three months, you are not still having this dreadful issue with the unwanted messages. But you will be happy to know that now T-Mobile can block messages for you at no additional cost to you. This will prevent you from being responsible for paying for messages that you do not wish to receive.

""First of all, I wanted to say that it's not just T Mobile that can't control who texts you; it's any cell phone carrier. We just don't have the ability to block numbers from calling or texting you. ""

Then DISABLE text messaging for this customer altogether. OTHER cell phone companies can disable text messaging (disable text message service as well as DISABLING ALL "internet" capabilities) with the push of a key on a keyboard.

Why won't T-mobile?????

Answer: It's a cash cow!

""It happens with all phone companies and carriers. We're really not trying to scam you out of money or purposely not helping you, we just dont have the ability to stop it for you.""

Why is it that OTHER cellphone providers can DISABLE text messaging service, as well as all "internet" services for their customers, yet T-mobile claims to not be able to???

Further, to my knowledge, T-mobile doesn't own the infrastructure-they lease it from other providers or have service agreements with other providers that actually own the infrastructure. So, if the service provider that OWNS the infrastructure CAN DISABLE texting and other "internet" services, why can't T-mobile?

Also, your advise to change the cellphone number is NOT a sollution. As you wrote, these people call random numbers (actually many use computers to send the text messages), so it's very likely that they would eventually "hit" on the new cellphone number and the text charges start again.

Messaging issues

Sorry to hear that you're getting random unsolicited text messages, that is always annoying.

First of all, I wanted to say that it's not just T Mobile that can't control who texts you; it's any cell phone carrier. We just don't have the ability to block numbers from calling or texting you. Normally when I get a call like this, I add some bonus text messages to the account so that it will cover those pesky texts. As well, i'll let them know that they *can* change their mobile number so that they no longer receive the texts. Unfortunately the people out there that perpetuate these scams just pick mobile numbers at random. It happens with all phone companies and carriers. We're really not trying to scam you out of money or purposely not helping you, we just dont have the ability to stop it for you.
