The notification was enclosed in a plain white envelop and inside of the envelop was a letter with all bold caps with the company TELCO INCORPORATED on top and in the corner of the notice there was a black line on the left side in front of a gold shield shape letter head with a dollar sign inclosed in a circle on top of the gold shield. When I opened the letter, I knew I did not apply for any sweep stakes in the last six months, I mean when I use to recieve the Publishing Clearing house notices I regularly threw the entire notice in the trash along with other "Junk mail". I am always aware of information that I recieve in the mail. I had every intention of discarding the information that was sent to my mother's address, but I was in the process of moving to the home of my Fiance and my hands was full and I left it on the kitchen counter. When I walk up the next day I recieved a voicemail message from my step father that I really need to look at the letter because it may be real. At that point I really begin to second guest myself regarding the validity of the notice and with me planning a wedding in January that $4500 look really really good. I am already stramped for cash and I was just fantasizing as to all things I could do with 250,000.00. WOW!!!
So after a ran a few errands I left the local grocery store and went over to my mother's. She told me that she was going to ask if I had applied for a sweepstakes lately and if I did not, then the check was probably a scam to receive my bank number. Well after I pick up a few of my belongings I went back home and used my blackberry to google the name of the Rip off web site came up with the Telco incorporated name displayed. Now I have the notice and I wish I can go to every bank manager in the city warn the manager of this scam but I don't know how realistic that would be. So I had to tell my story so others can be aware.
