Bought a mercedes from texas direct auto yesterday, price was right.Everything else was a disaster. My salesman did no have any manuals for the car, no spare key, he did not know how to operate any of the functions in the car. He managed to find the navagation cd, but did not know how it worked. I had driven 3 1/2 hours to get to his place, which he was well aware of. When I left, I assumed that the car was full of gas as the hard to read gas indicated showed a complete white line to the top of the gauge. Well this car's gauge works backwards, black bar is full white bar is empty. I drove for 125 miles when the car stopped completely! I called Mercedes benz for help and they concluded that I was out of gas. I called the salesman and asked how much gas was in the car when I left and he said I believe we put 3 gallons and I said you knew I had a 3 1/2 hour drive why did you not tell me to be sure to fill up before I drove home? He said that's not my job!! The car was right, the price was right the sales people are stupid, uniformed stooges, that don't know a hub cap from a radiator!

You were aware of all this stuff,  and you could not drive two blocks to a gas station and top it off?  I agree they should have done it,  but if your that worried about the stooges,  then go and check it out,  you know car dealers are cheap and lie.  You have no one to blame but yourself,  You sound as dumb as them.

Big Mistake

AUTHOR: Prkchop - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 29, 2009

My rebuttal was a BIG mistake.  Management did not do what they promised, the warranty they sold me turned out to be invalid, I have spent a considerable amount of money trying to get this car into reasonable condition, and I never received the navigation disk or manual.  The Texas Attorney General has contacted me concerning my transactions with Texas Direct Auto.  DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, EVEN THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU HAS BLACKBALLED THEM.   AR Porkchop.  Winter Haven, FL

I was unaware of this web site before I purchased my Mercedes and in all probability would not have purchased my automobile if I had seen this site and would have missed a good deal.  I filed a complaint against this company with the Texas Attorney General, Rip Off Report and the Internet Crime Complaint Center because Texas Direct had not addressed my concerns; however, I had not contacted Management prior to filing the complaint.  Gary Maze resolved every issue in my complaint.  I have not received the navigation disk; however, I believe I am partically at fault; therefore, I settled my dispute with Texas Direct.  Texas Direct may provide the disk; however, if they don't I will buy them and harbor no ill will.  Bottom line: if you want a good deal research your options, be willing to walk away if you are not completely satisfied and try to resolve any disputes with MANAGEMENT prior to filing a complaint because some complaints can not be withdrawn.  Based on my personal experience I believe Texas Direct is willing to do anything reasonable to satisfy a consumer.  Happy Trails, Prkchop.

To the OP: If they were such idiots, why did you buy the car? That seems to be a recurring theme on this site. Why reward incompetent or otherwise bad behavior buy buying from them?

You don't know how to read a gas gauge.......you knew you had a 3 1/2 hour ride home......there had to be some kind of low fuel warning before you ran out of gas.  And the salesman is stupid??????  YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!

Unreasonable

AUTHOR: Prkchop - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I also filed a complaint against this company (Winter Haven, FL) and almost ran out of gas; however, I didn't mention it in my complaint because NO DEALER has provided a consumer a tank of gas in the last decade and I didn't want everyone to know I didn't check the fuel.  Every complaint I had about this company was resolved and like you I am very happy with my automobile.  They sale cars wholesale (look at their website) and it is hardly surprising that the salesperson doesn't know every detail of all the different models.  We both got a reasonable deal on our car and years from now we will forget about the minor complaints and enjoy our ride.  I also purchased a Mercedes (SL 500) and am still learning how the different options function.  I did not receive a manual (advised one was not available at time of purchase) and bought the manual on line.  I made a very basic mistake when I filed my complaint, I did not proceed to management after the salesperson did not respond.  Give Texas Direct Auto a decent chance to address any VALID complaints and I sincerely believe you will be happy with the results.  Happy Trails, Prkchop.
