Be carefull! Texas Direct Auto sells a ton of cars through eBay. Unfortunately, they don't stand behind their promises and they hide the truth about the vehicle! We just bought a truck from them. We were promised the truck was in excellent shape and the photo's looked good. We were told that "we stand behind our vehicles and that if for any reason... no questions asked... if we were not happy when we took delivery we could get a complete refund INCLUDING shipping. We wouldn't have purchased otherwise. When we received the truck, it was obvious at first glance that it was not the way it had been presented. There were major scratches along one door that had been touched up with a brush (and were hidden in the photos on ebay). Additionally, the front end had definitely been repainted and looks as though it had been repaired (possibly from a collission). The interior was severly stained and of course, not represented that way.

On the maiden voyage, the check engine light was on and the truck pulled hard-left. We took it to a trusted shop and found out that it needed front end alignment and possibly repair; the catalytic converters were shot and someone had bypassed the heater core with wiring so that you couldn't tell the heater core was out. $3000-$5000 in repairs! After nearly 2 weeks of ignored requests, we finally shipped the vehicle back. we received a check a week later (which the bank had to put a 10 day hold on) but they screwed us out of nearly $1000 in shipping. They now refuse to pay the shipping and say in the "fine print" that they only refund shipping if you ship with them only (of which was double the cost of other auto shipping companies). We then found out they even ripped off eBay and cancelled the listing with them and sold to us directly instead. Such integrity from the very beginning. We will continue to fight this, but DON'T BUY FROM THEM. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!

Yep..seems you made a couple of major mistakes...

One..is buying a vehicle online sight unseen. Only a pro internet buyer/seller should EVER do this, not a consumer looking for a deal on a daily driver. You still should of had the vehicle inspected before having it shipped.

It also seems it was sold to you directly and not through ebay. Yes, this did rip off eBay...but you also were involved in the rip off since I am sure ebay is pretty clear on the forms of acceptable payment. Either way..the buyer is often responsible for shipping the vehicle back if it is unsatisfactory..and this is more reason then ANY not to buy sight unseen like this, unless you are a pro.

Once you try to beat the system and go around eBays approved methods of payment...then you lose any protection and it does not matter at that point what the seller "promised" or told you.

I am amazed you even got a refund..be thankful for that.

Who Took All The Risks???

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

You decided to send your money off to buy a used car you never saw and surprise, surprise, its a piece of junk.

And now, its all their fault, right?  Should every entity conduct business within the bounds of honesty and integrity?  Of course.  But then again, consumers should use common sense when they conduct business.  Sending your money off to buy a used car, sight unseen, a car you can't check out in advance is nothing more than pure nonsense.

If you had seen this car at a local dealership, you would have walked right past it.  That's why you look at a car and have your mechanic check it out first.

The internet is FULL of con-artists selling junk cars and just waiting for some sucker to come along and jump at the bait.  Don't make yourself a victum again!
