I contacted Jim and talked a few minutes, got off the phone with the feeling that something just didn't sit right, he has no customer service skills, cut and dry, I felt that he was not interested at all in informing me of when I could pick up my marmoset, very vague. I called him the next day and left a message for him to call that my husband wanted to ask a few questions before I send him a deposit, he never calle view mored me back and the next day I called and said I needed to ask questions before committing to sending money to someone I don't know, he never called! At this point I was frustrated that a business owner would treat potential customers this way, especially spending $3000.00. I sent a text message and he barely responded, I replied asking a question, no reply from Jim! Thinking maybe he's had a bad day, busy etc.... I called one last time and left a message that we needed clear communication before I agreed to send money.... Still no phone call! He is rude, lacking in skills to run a professional business, he's in this for the money not the love of his monkeys.... I am very disappointed, talked to another breeder tonight and was told that he has taken advantage of people, turned them away after they drove thousands of miles, has told customers he is not running a petting zoo! If you sell to the general public you have to allow future clients to meet you and see your facility if that's what they feel comfortable with before making a deposit. I am sorry I ever thought this person would be reputable enough for me to shell out thousands of dollars for a monkey! I would call another breeder, unless you like being treated badly! Bad businessman... I feel sorry for the monkeys he cares for....

 

2 days later he returned a call with a nasty message that he was building cages, this is not the way to treat potenial customers, he added that he has more business and had a record breaking year from Monkey sales last year and did not need me, well if he did not need me, as I WAS a potenial customer, then he must not need any customers.....  Just a very disturbed person.

 Appears that many whom have dealt or spoken to you have the same complaint: rude, belligerent and offensive. Of the many complaints I have read about you on message boards, groups and customer review sites it always comes down to the same complaints: rude, belligerent and offensive. You sold my wife a $75 cage for $400 that makes you a con artist as well since you tols her it was a "special cage" and not a common flight cage that they sell on Amazon. Shame on you Jim Hammonds for taking advantage of a woman who spent $3500 on a marmoset and you beat her out another $325. Oh and those silly diapers you sell for the marmosets are a waste of money next time demonstrate how to put one on.... its impossible.

 You were not ripped off we never did business? I was very busy working that day and you were really asking outlandish questions hasn't every business person had these people call and waste their time with frivolous questions I work hard and must focus on legitimate customers ? If you are interested in obtaining a POCKET MONKEY I have them and plenty of good references

 Could you send me reputable breeder. I am in Oklahoma and have already been inspected by fish and wildlife on my enclosure. I have copies of the western union paper work.

Jim was amazing with us and very clean facility

 I have just purchased a marmoset off of Jim I found him on the Internet as soon as I called him I left message and he returned my call with in 5 minutes he explained everything to me about deposit etc. I drove 18 hours to go pick up my marmoset and explained to me everything I needed to transport her home on a heating pad to keep her warm.. He also did a demo of everything he was very nice and professional I do know he is very busy I have one and have to feed every 4 hours with syringe I can't even imagine how he does it raising all of them with barely no sleep being up every 4 hours I am sure he gets so many calls a day that people ask him silly questions and don't have intention on buying.. I want to thank him very much for all the help and knowledge he gives us and for such a healthy baby girl marmoset!!! I will be purchasing another one from him and will recommend him he was great to work with!!

 I read this review and thought I needed to give my experience with Jim Hammonds. I contacted Jim about us purchasing 2 marmosets from him. He explained the process to me that I would need to deposit $500 per monkey into his bank account and gave me his information. I didn't need to ask a ton of questions from him since I had already done my research via the Internet about these pets and had viewed his website numerous times. I understand it can be scary purchasing a pet or anything over the phone and then just going and putting money into an account however you all his information and his home address so you really are safe. If you have to ask a million questions then really maybe you are on the fence and not really committed to owning this pet. I also understand that as a small business he doesn't have time for people who are just looking or want to see monkeys. It isn't good for the monkeys or his time... These are very good pets but they require a lot of work just like an infant. I called Jim twice to change my date of pickup and he was accommodating and friendly with me. I have also texted with him numerous times and he replies within 24 hours which is an acceptable time frame since I understand his business isn't 24 hours a day. Jim called us a few days before we were to pick up our monkeys and discussed cages, food, etc with us. He even went and picked us up a cage since we hadn't had one. My wife picked up our monkeys and he was very friendly and helpful. I have texted him a few times to ask questions and he has always responded quickly since then and been available for all our follow up needs. He isnt the warm and fuzzy kind of guy over the phone but in person he is. Some people may not like that but he is an honest and fair business man. I would most definitely do business with him again and have recommended him to numerous friends.

My company is in good standing with the usda and florida fish & wildlife.we are very courteous and helpful to potential customers.we get a lot of frivolous calls in this type of business as you might imagine.i remember Alabamans call because she was asking some pretty outlandish questions bordering on a prank call that we get our fair share being we sell monkeys :) I gave her basic information and ask if I could call her back as I was in the middle of constructing cages and she got mad? After she became belligerent and rude I did inform her that we were not interested in her business,and that was all their was to it.if you are interested in our baby monkeys give us a call we welcome your business,thanks,Jim Hammonds
