Failure to make necessary repairs with reasonable promptness mistreated and ripped off .....

My girlfriend and I in May 2002 moved into the villages apartments located in south Charlotte,NC. When we moved in we conducted a Apartment Condition checklist which was provided by the villages. we were instructed to notate any discrepancies and that the Villages would make the necessary repairs in a timely manner. We notated several issues such stained title in the kitchen area, missing screendoor for patio, and that the air condition was not working properly. We were promised that these things would be repaired in a timely manner.

My girlfriend had made the arrainagemnts from NY and therefore was only abl to see the apatment the day she moved in. After moving down she had know choice but to believe that the Villages would fix these things. She had her 2 year son and did not have time to locate another apartment and get started with her job. I moved in with her in June and complained several times about the air conditioning and stains on the kitchen floor and ceiling in master bathroom. The property manager at the time stated that we were living in bottom floor apartment and that it was hard to cool off because of this.

They came in on two seperate occasions and replaced the thermostate. This did not work, finally the air condition blow a gasket and linked water everywhere. They came in replaced the hose, soaked up some water, not all of it and left Again we complained and again they would not fix the problem. finally in September the air conditioning unit stopped working. It took them four days to replace the compersor. I asked that we be let out of our lease for their failure to provide us reasonable and prompt maintance. They refused stating that we would have to pay back all of the consession we received because my girlfriend is a teacher, and that we would have to rough pay $3000.00 for the remainder of the lease.

Failure to make repairss

I lived at this complex for about 10 months. It was one of the worst places I have stayed. They were very unprofessional and not very understanding. When I moved in I complained about the carpet being dirty and they came out twice to clean it but it is Still dirty the carpet needs to be replaced, the walls have dents and cracks. I call several times about the bugs and the guy came out and spray but that is not working. I had to complain about the screen patio having holes when I moved in, they didn't want to fix it but I had to complain and ask what is the use of having screen patio's if the bugs can still get in? Spiders have invaded my patio I called and they spiders are Still on my patio. Snails are in my Kitchen I call at least once a month about the snails.
It took them months to fix my Ice maker and I called weekly Reminding them and they explained to me that it was not important and they will get to it when they had time.
A couple of apartments were broken into and they were not even so much as were are sorry about it from the office staff It took them days to fix my door and the new door don't even have a pep hole. After talking with the police, they let us know that it is an issue at that complex.
I would not recommend this place to a friend or an enemy.

I have been living in the Arbors of Euless for almost 4yrs now. After marriage, my husband and I upgraded to a larger apartment. Since moving we have continued to request maintenance on a plumbing issue in the master bath. When they did finally respond almost 6months later the restroom exterior had optained a large amount of meldew and mold. The said they would fix but instead they just made a very sorry attempt to cover up the mold and meldew I am highly up set with the service and because they change management so much no ever knows what you are talking about when referencing to a previous complaint. I am at this time trying to get out of the lease because the carpet is still damaged the master bath looks like an old motel bath and they would only give us a 50.00 discount on a 6month problem. that is still a problem even though we pay 22.00 a day in rent that comes to 660.00 amonth. The list goes on and on with this complex but this is the one thing that has set me over the edge. Please look into my complaint as I am sure you will find others who have the same or worst complaints than mine.
