I made a mistake and purchased tickets to the Disney on Ice Nemo show in the wrong city. I live in Denver and somehow purchased tickets for Minnesota. I called Ticketmaster.com and they told me they could not do anything for me. They were not willing to refund or exchange the tickets. It tooks 3 calls to get to talk to a supervisor, the first and second time I got hung up on when I asked for a supervisor and the final time the supervisor was unsympathetic and was not willing to do anything. I am not going to use ticketmaster.com anymore which is going to be hard since I have a 4 year old and ticketmaster.com has a monopoly on the ticket sales business.

Oh well.

Not Ticketmaster's Fault

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 26, 2008

The problem is that you made a mistake, and this is not the fault or responsibility of Ticketmaster. The Ticketmaster web site gives you several opporunities to verify what you are buying. They are also under no obligation to refund or exchange your tickets once you purchased them.

The best thing you can do is either post the tickets on an auction site such as E-*** to try and get rid of the tickets you have now. You may not get full value, especially if it is not a sold out show or they are not the best seats. However, you might be able to cut your losses.

If you don't want to use ticketmaster.com you can go directly to the venue the show is at. You also will avoid the Ticketmaster fees by doing this.

I sympathize but....

Ticketmaster is really not obligated to do anything for you since this was your mistake. They don't do refunds or exchanges and I believe it says so on their website. The only exception would be tickets for a cancelled show. However, that being said, they should not have been so rude to you. Maybe you could sell the tickets you got for the MN show on ebay or another auction site.

Not a legitimate ripoff here

If you read your ticket, their policy is no refund and no exchanges (and it's always been that). Who's fault is it you purchased the tickets in the wrong city? If you buy a noinrefundable plane ticket in other city, the same thing would apply. You weren't ripped off. Read before you purchase.
