We placed an order for Jersey Boys at Whitney Hall, Louisville, KY on July 25, 2010 for 2 premium tickets for the Saturday, August 14, 2010 8:00 PM performance; we purchased standard delivery and also ticket insurance (Insurance provider is Mondial).  An email confirmation was received indicating the above order information.

Having not received the ticket by Aug 9th, we contacted them at info@tixintime.com as indicated in the email for order inquiries and called the contact number (866) 380-3816 later that day.  We were told that the tickets would be shipped out the next day and should be delivered on Friday, Aug 13th.  Two tickets just arrived a short time ago via FedEx but they are tickets for the wrong performance.  Called Tickets In Time immediately and the representative found the order and said she'd check into it and get back to me shortly.  Since I have physical tickets that I paid them $142.00 + $26.98 "Service Fee" each for plus the $15.00 delivery fee, I'm not sure how they'll make this right.  I'm still waiting for that call back so we'll see.  By the way, the ticket face value is $77 + $12.20 service & tax.  We knew they'd make a hefty profit but this is scalping!

I suspect they'll tell me that tickets are non-refundable and try to talk us into going to the earlier performance.  We will be traveling from out of town and can't make that performance (and would have booked them if that's what we wanted).  If they can't provide similarly good premium seating for the performance we booked, we would like a refund of our purchase price as well as fees.  We have the email order confirmation from Broadway Tickets Center.com and the error is clearly not our fault.  The ticket insurance we also purchased apparently doesn't cover their error so that's of no value to us either.  In fairness we'll report the final resolution of this issue as a follow-up.

Tickets In Time problem resolution

After not getting a call back by the following morning I called the Broadway Tickets Center Customer Support number and was told to resolve the issue through Tickets In Time, the company who actually sent the wrong tickets to us.  After several more phone conversations they offered us a discounts on the wrong tickets if we'd use them or they would provide tickets to the correct performance.  Since we couldn't use the wrong tickets we opted for the second choice.  Of course at this late date the replacement tickets for the correct performance that they managed to get were not nearly as good a seating as what we originally ordered on 7/25; we'll now get to sit much farther back near the wall.  Being too late for shipping we will pick up the tickets at will call on the day of performance; they will refund the original FedEx shipping charge since we will have to pick up tickets.  Several hours later they finally managed to figure out what we should do with the wrong tickets - overnight back to them via FedEx with a shipping label they emailed to us.


Unfortunately this whole thing could have been avoided had Tickets In Time/Broadway Tickets Center fulfilled our purchase in a more timely manner after receiving the initial order.  Any ticket mistakes could have been corrected sooner while more desirable seating was still available saving both of us a lot of time and expenses.  The service provided by this vendor, although marginally resolved to our satisfaction, was anything but timely in nature.  Further, they justify their high scalping prices by citing the difficulty of getting premium seating for popular venues.  In the future we'll be more careful when clicking through on the "Buy Tickets" link to make sure we're not dealing with this vendor again.
