I contacted Tom Bowen in 2001 when I first graduated school to help me with a NEW PRACTICE (a turn-key established medical eyecare office where we needed help running a business). I and my business partner were instructed to attend what at the time was called their Fast-Trak intro 3-day seminar in Nebraska for $23,000 to kick-off our consulting services. We were told that the seminar was AN INTEGRAL PART of the consulting, and that further visits to our office in NJ by Mr. Bowen would follow.

Questioning the $23,000 fee, both my partner and I wanted to be sure that this seminar was for NEW GRADUATES or ESTABLISHED DOCTORS acquiring their first practice. We were assured it was for NEW DOCTORS and NEW PRACTICES by Mr. Bowen and others at Williams. Also, since our office was located in the northeast we wanted to be certain that this seminar would include practices in LARGE METROPOLITAN area and again we were assured of this.

Upon arriving, it became immediately apparent that the other participants were form SMALL TOWNS and were LONG TIME practice owners (10 years or longer). Mingling with the other participants, we were told that they were told this seminar was MOSTLY for doctors in private practice for many years and who WANTED TO GROW their practice further than it was now.

It became clear to us we were in the wrong place, but the $23,000 had already been paid, we were told. We were told to stay, as it woulod be very informative for us.

The seminar was not useful for new doctors, new graduates, or doctors aquiring a practice for the first time. Williams and Bowen KNEW THIS. They also knew they had our money already.

It was clear that we were ripped-off, along with others, but also we found out that Bowen was a MASTER at keeping clients from getting their money back by having an answer for EVERY ONE of our objections. We were young doctors who were willing to listen the "experts" so it all seemed right - even though we had so much proof to the contrary and our brains were telling us these guys CANT help us because they had no idea how to consult a STARTUP, only how to grow ONCE YOU WERE ESTABLISHED OWNERS FOR 10+ YRS..

This happened in 2001, but I wanted to record this RIPOFF by the Williams Group and by Tom Bowen so others may read it and stear clear of their tactics.
