Business private numbers and contact info

AUTHOR: Josephal - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 05, 2008

Businesses have private contact info all the time. Do you think everyone has access to CEO direct dial numbers? I don't think so. If the business is a corp, s corp, llc, or partnership and is in the US, it is registered somewhere anyway. It is impossible to have an unregistered corp, llc, or partnership. Those states are required to have contact information. In Illinois is is available through the secretary of state's web site. Other states have this function as well.

GoDaddy is Not Scum!

AUTHOR: Laura C - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 18, 2008

I have had webhosting with GoDaddy for about three years and overall I have found them good to work with. I did buy Traffic Blazer and found that I just didn't understand it or have the patience to use it. I asked for a refund within a few months and received it. I also bought and returned the Website Tonight package, because I don't know the first thing about html and simply couldn't figure out how to use it. I finally got the drag and drop ease I was looking for with iWeb. I update my website all the time now, no problems.

I have had mostly good experiences with GoDaddy Customer Service, and I like that it's available 24/7. I have had a few experiences with snippy young men who expressed exasperation with my obvious ignorance of the nuts and bolts of computer science and website building. The best thing to do is hang up, call back and get someone else with a better disposition. But I have found this to be true of just about all companies. Where you work, I bet there are courteous people and rude people, and you would not want to be judged by your less able co-workers. Most of the folks at GoDaddy are friendly and helpful.

I have never had an issue with my email or my web hosting and I do recommend GoDaddy to friends and colleagues.

I have lost money also to the bottomless godaddy pit

AUTHOR: Laura - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 10, 2005

I attempted to transfer a domain name to Godaddy.com 7 months ago. The transfer failed numerous times. Registrar lock. At first the customer support showed great concern in solving this isssue, even offerd to give a different domain name on their server. I had paid the fee for the transfer, a couple of upgrades and a monthly hosting service fee. 7 months later, no domain transferred, no new domain and they still are charging my paypal account for a monthly fee for the hosting. I even asked them to just go away and choke on the money they have taken thus far........but to just stop billing me for a domain that they are not servicing..... I have 15 customer service responses from 11 different people there all with differnt solutions to problems that do not exist. I am sure it is not an intentional rip off.....but just the lack of orginaztion with that company is lacking.....I am still fighting their automatic charges for a domain name that they are not servicing. Anyone who would l like copies of all the mess of customer service "responses" to me feel free to email me....they speak for themselves.

RE: Unlisted Domains

AUTHOR: Nick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 02, 2005

True PEOPLE can have unlisted domains, like they have unlisted phone numbers. But the poster said BUSINESSES.

No legitimate BUSINESS has a need to have an unlisted number. I can see if it is for a PERSONAL website. That is one thing. But if it is for a BUSINESS, I certainly will not do business with any company that will not make it's physical address known.

To suggest a BUSINESS or COMPANY should have an unlisted domain is sheer folly. BUT it does make sense for a PERSONAL website.

Godaddy.com have always given me first class service

AUTHOR: Wally - (Australia)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 26, 2005

I have registered hundreds of domains through godaddy.com over the past 4 years and their service and support has been excellent. Can I suggest you approach their support people with a non agressive attitude and I would be amazed if your problem is not resolved. I am in the ideal geographic location to be ripped off but it has never happened and it never will.

As an Aussie I have no hesitation in recommending godaddy.com to any of my peers or clients who need a professional dot com registrar. It is a shame that more American companies don't treat their clients as well as Godaddy.com does.

I can well imagine that Godaddy.com have millions of clients and I can further imagine the support nightmare that accompanies such huge numbers. Cut them a bit of slack and treat their people with tolerance and respect and you won't find a better company to deal with.

Proof lacking

AUTHOR: Lasivian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 25, 2005

I work for the company in question. And I have a few questions for you.

#1 Where is the proof offered that this product does not work?

#2 How long after your purchase did you ask for a refund? 1 Hour? 1 Day? 1 Month? 6 Months? (It's a product that renews yearly)

#3 There is no direct e-mail contact instead there is a phone number with 24/7 support, and web-based support.

As for the other comment about Domains By Proxy, what's the difference between an unlisted domain registration and an unlisted Phone Number?

GoDaddy is scum

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 15, 2005

Go Daddy is also the owner of Domains by Proxy. The latter company's primary business is to conceal the identities of website owners. No legitimate business or person needs this service, so you know who their customers are.

Stay away from any business whose site is registered through Go Daddy or Domains by Proxy.
