Transouth Financial Ripoff Crooks thieves unbelievably poor business practices Fredericksburg Virginia

Like many others on here, I have fell victim to Transouth crooked business practices. My case is somewhat different from all the others that I've read so far. My wife and I purchased a 98 Camaro from Manassas Motors in 2001 and used dealer arranged financing. The dealer arranged financing with transouth financial to the tune of 26% interest with 5K down payment. I was nieve at the time and really wanted the car, so I agreed to the terms. I had made all payments on time. I also received calls demanding payment even know my account was never behind.

After driving the car for a year, I went to the DMV to renew my tags, and the agent informed me that the registration I had was invalid and there was no record of any camaro in my name. I immediately called transouth and asked them to fax me a copy of the title. They later called me back and asked if I had bought a pick-up truck. I explained that I had not and I had bought a camaro as my contract stated, and they informed me they had the wrong title. They said they would get with the dealer and get it straight. Shortly after the dealer called and said it was just a clerical error, and they had everything straight and to come to the dealer to pick up new registration and tags. Great I thought, I dont have to pay for the renewal. Little did I know.

A year later it was dejavu. DMV again told me I could not renew as the car was not registered to me. At this point I had paid over 2K in personal property taxes, 3500 in automobile repairs, and approx 14,000 towards the purchase of the vehicle. I again immediatley phoned transouth and demanded to see the title. Transouth explained they had been trying to get it for the last year. It was found that the dealer Manassas Motors was fraudently selling vehicles without titles and I reported them to the DMV. The DMV closed there business and put the owner Mike Stotler in Jail for 90 days. I continued making payments with transouth for 90 days as there dealer resolutuion department was working to resolve my case by either getting proper title or issuing a recision in which they would issue full refund. After 90 days, they asked for more time, so I decided to stop making any payments. They began the harrassing calls every day and when I cancelled the insurance they tried to charge me that as well.

I have held the car now since Jan 04 when I made my last payment in my driveway unable to drive it. I have hired two worthless lawyers, that got absolutely no where at a cost 0f 4K. I recently went to court as transouth sued me for 14K for withholding there property. Unbelievably I lost the case, and transouth was awarded ownership of the car. The Judge determined that my balance was set to 0, and questioned why I did not have a counter claim. The sole purpose I had hired the second lawyer (Sharon Solaway), was to countersue but she did not file the countersuit.

Two months later, they show up today to reposses the car and still have not removed it from my credit report. I had good credit when I bought this car. I now cant get financed for a pack of chewing gum. I called and talked to one of there senior officials (Jon Markwell) again today, and he claims he never spoke to me before ( liar), and that I still owe 9K and they have no intention to remove this from my credit report. He offered that if I would sign a statment not to further pursue legal action, that they would delete it from my credit history. I was close to agreeing, as I have been trying to purchase a home, as my Family and I need to move on, but on principal cant throw in the towel on 14K. The gentlemen I spoke to (real a**hole) Jon Markwell 317-722-4100, has constantly been rude and unprofessional.

If anybody knows of a good civil litagator, in the Northern Virginia area, please repond to this.
I can not speak for anybody but myself, but I would never consider doing any kind of busineess with these people again. I do not know how they can sleep at night.

I belive this company is also known as Arcadis financial and Citi One.
