When I was still waiting on an order, I noticed that trixiepixgraphics.com posted correspondence regarding one customer that they claim harrassed them. I have no idea what the validity of these claims are, but I found the posting to be unprofessional. What's more, after my own experience with them, I would not be surprised if the woman they claimed harrassed them had an experience similar to mine.

I ordered a fake gag newspaper that needed to look professional. When I got it, the top front page headline had been hyphenated. In my experience, only high school and tiny local newspapers ever do this on the front page. In fact, to make sure it wasn't all in my imagination, I looked up newspaper guidelines at various key newspapers and discovered that hyphenating a headline is a big mistake. I emailed trixiepix and merely stated that the hyphenated headline was not realistic looking. Would there be any way to reprint it without the hyphenation? They responded with a definitive no. They would never reprint something like that. I then emailed back and simply stated that: I've never seen a hyphenated headline before. I had four more orders I needed but I'll have to take those elsewhere.

Here is the entirely unprovoked response that trixiepixgraphics sent me:

Now, CEASE AND DESIST. We've had enough of you.>>

Needless to say, I was horrified by the rudeness, expecially since these were the people who had already taken 60 dollars of mine regardless of whether or not the product was of their promised quality. They blocked my IP address, so this was my last interaction with them. Like angry kids, they hurled an insult at me before slamming the door. And they took my money. I did nothing to provoke or merit this sort of behavior. And I can't believe that they would find it acceptable to behave in this way.

When the other woman on their website reported them to the BBB, they sent a letter claiming that she had harrassed them to her local policemen. I have to wonder now if trixiepicsgraphics was accurate in making this claim, or if they are just rude incompetent business owners who like to terrorize their unsatisfied customers.

Customer's name is Maegan Poland, not "Cory"

POSTED: Sunday, December 27, 2009

This customer's name is Maegan Poland, of Santa Monica, California, not "Cory" as she has listed here. Our entire file on this case is posted publicly. We've been turning the other cheek for nearly three years, but the discovery of this complaint has renewed our interest and we have now sent the case to our attorney to see if we have enough documentation to file a civil suit against the woman. We do understand that she is in some way mentally challenged, but that does not relieve her, or her guardians, of  responsibility for their actions and words. This is truly over the top and it does not speak well of RipOffReports to be actively facilitating this kind of slander and defamation. We do not believe RipOffReports has the slightest interest in disseminating accuracy -- rather, their focus is on VOLUME. The more complaints they can post, regardless of the merits of thos complaints, the more revenue they can collect from advertising. It's about as amoral as it gets.

POSTED: Saturday, December 26, 2009

We see that this complaint was filed in 2007. We were not aware of it until now (end of 2009). We do remember this customer well; she remains the worst customer we have ever encountered, in 12 years of online sales and nearly 30 years of traditional sales. First, her amount was not $60 as she states, it was $49.90, but that's neither here nor there. This woman placed an order for a fake newspaper. During that order process she was specifically and explicitly told, in writing, not to use words in the small headline field which would force a hyphenation. Here's the exact written warning that was supplied to her, cut and pasted directly from our records.

QUOTE: "Hyphenating a headline is "BAD". Unfortunately, we don't choose your headline -- YOU do. And we are loath to change it. Therefore, please consider how your headline might format itself if it's likely to be two lines. We have all kinds of tricks to avoid hyphenating a headline; we can stretch and squeeze the text, move words here and there, but in the end there MAY be times when there is simply no other choice but to hyphenate your headline. You can avoid this by being careful about composing your headline." END QUOTE

She utterly ignored this and submitted a headline which had to be hyphenated. When she received her newspaper she demanded that we reprint it without the hyphen, at our expense. Since that was impossible, we denied her request. She then filed three (3) nonsensical complaints with the Better Business Bureau, until THEY cut her off and refused to accept any more complaints. We blocked her from ordering from us again. She then filed a complaint with the California Dept. of Justice (!) and lied (not an opinion, it's a fact), saying we had threatened her. At that point we served her with a no-contact order, and filed a criminal complaint against her for harassment and for lying to the Dept. of Justice. We have not heard from her since, but she remains prominent among memories we'd like to purge from our consciousness. She has been posting things like this for nearly four years now, all across the net. It is our opinion that she is mentally handicapped; there seems no other plausable explanation. ALL interactions with ALL customers are done through our public forum. You may puruse that database at any time by going to our home page and following the "Ask a Question" link. Every business will sooner or later pick up a nut-job like this. We're sorry that we have finally entered into the ranks of "the initiated". We're throughly disgusted by the mentality that acts as this woman has.
