Main points that I saw dealing with Mr. Silas Pierce, owner of Tropical Estate Sales, was lying, deceiving, taking advantage of the situation, selling items prior to estate sale, and underselling practically everything (several witnesses). Mr. Silas Pierce not only undersold items, he also sold items prior to the estate sale (all household furniture had Sold tags, the night before the estate sale) and even sold items that weren't part of the estate in the house on the days of the estate sales (witnessed).

Mr. Silas Pierce sneakingly took pictures of a U-Haul during the removal of personal items prior to the estate sale, although he stated it wouldn't matter. But later he stated that he had a sale percentage right to those items since they were on his website, which the removal was over 2 months prior to the estate sale. His list of those items in the U-Haul were extremely over-priced especially since the most costly item was eventually repossessed.

The only thing I can say about that item is that it was a blessing it was removed as it more than likely would have been undersold. His contract does state no one from the family is allowed while the estate sale is being conducted. He ended up calling the Admin. and had him call the police to report that we were trespassing. If we would have realized what we know now, we would have had the police remove Mr. Silas Pierce and his company, from the house. The house was stripped of everything and the estate sale was illegal.

An Honest and 100% Satisfied Customer of Tropic Estate Sales

AUTHOR: RTA - School Teacher - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, March 10, 2012

I can not say how saddened I am by the comments I have read on this post against this amazing company and its owner - Mr. Silas Pierce.  I came to learn about Tropic Estate Sales through a website that posts listings for Estate Sales all across the company (Florida included).  I am a school teacher on a budget, but have a passion and love for fine art, Louis Vuitton and honestly just shopping for quality.  I will invest in something unique, lovely and rare!  I actually inherited this trait from my unique, lovely and rare mother! :-)

When my mother and I first visited a Tropic Estate Sale in our area, we could not believe how amazing the items were that they were selling!  They had ORIGINAL paintings from well-renowned artist, authentic and rare handbags, jewelry and fine antiques, clothing, high end electronics....the list goes on!  The neighborhood was one of the most expensive in Central Florida, so we knew it would be great...but it far exceeded our expectations!!!!

Walking into the one of their sales is like walking in to a high end art museum!!  Silas had a team of employees in every area of the sale, to of course, monitor these gems and answer questions for the guests.  My mom took forever picking out jewelry from the glass cases, manned by his staff, but she found the perfect ring!

I was so impressed with Silas the first time I met him!!!  I wanted to purchase a piece of Louis Vuitton luggage and attempted to haggle with him.  Silas was able to tell me the name of the piece, the history and the retail of this exquisite item....then he kindly rejected my offer!  After doing the research, I am almost embarrassed that I asked him to lower the price.  He respects his customers, but he is definitely committed to the owner of the merchandise and ensuring they get top value.  I respect him so much for that.  I absolutely TREASURE the Louis Vuitton wine case that I was able to afford that day!  I have yet to see another one like it!  That was the first of many wonderful visits to the Tropic Estate Sales!

Recently, I actually contacted Mr. Pierce, because I had made a bad purchase on a website in an attempt to add to my small...but growing Louis Vuitton collection.  I was devastated when these bags arrived and appeared to not be real!  I purchased them using my Paypal account so was able to open a case against this dishonest seller.  Paypal responded to me that I had less than 1 week to get the handbags appraised and proven to be replica.  There are websites on line that will authenticate bags but charge more than I can pay, per bag for a rush response.

I called the AMAZING, HONEST, and BLESSING....Silas Pierce!!  He sat down with me and looked at each poorly crafted handbag.  Within a few days he drafted a letter detailing his history as an antique appraiser, and the other amazing credentials he has in the business of fine art and collectibles!!

When I offered to pay him, or even buy him dinner...he would not hear of it!  If you are blessed enough to meet Silas Pierce, as I have been, you will meet a man with a passion for art, unique treasures....but mostly being a true service to others!

When it is time for my Estate Sale (prayerfully way in the future)....and if my children need to part with my small collection of rare, unique and lovely things...I would only trust one person to sell them...bringing top dollar for my loved ones...I can't take it with me :-)!!

This is my personal, and honest experience with Tropic Estate Sales and Mr. Silas Pierce.  If you want to ask me more about the company or him in person....catch me (and mom) at one of his next Estate Sales!  Everyone in town knows they are the best estate sales company in the area!!!

Sincerely,
A Thankful Customer

Silas Pierce is the one who lies

AUTHOR: June - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 07, 2012

I'm the one who originally wrote the reports and I do have my facts straight.  You should ask Silas Pierce as he should know who I am as I am a cousin who helped my bereaved cousin, whose husband committed suicide, through this mess as much as possible and I even witnessed lies by him several times.  I don't own no warehouse.

As far as underselling, more than likely it is stuff really being re-sold in his own warehouses/flea markets, but that it is an opinion of mine.

Additionally, I did not go into all the details of everything including at least one item being swapped out, no jewelry that was left was even displayed and even a neighbor being threatened by Silas Pierce over vehicle titles.

I do have my facts straight.

Bottom line, is that if he is a professional like he presents himself, he should have known this estate sale was illegal and the estate sale should have never transpired.

Lies

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, October 16, 2011

The only lying and deceiving here is the one who posted this, you had people that work for you come to our sales at out warehouse, which is a house literally on first street. and the u haul truck you saw was the prior residents leaving and silas making sure they left, so at least get those facts straight. And you actually never dealt with tropic estate sales like i said during some of our 3 day sales at the pink house you had people show up and try to test silas on his appraisal and said everything was reproduction, mind you everything he quoted  was authentic and stands proven, alas to the main point you sought to personify the fact anything got repossessed, no that ridiculous and amazing you would fantasize about such false claims and petty things such as this and to even waste your time in writing a fake ripoff report and sending your "witnesses" to our sale and trying to disrupt and failing to do so, is a pathetic attempt at attacking the character of my boss, as for items with sold tags prior to an estate sale, yes if you understood this business some these are indeed not for sale and the public should be aware before the sale is conducted,  not that its your business but since you want to be nosy they can put holds on pieces and since this was a legal, private estate sale that is completely within his own discretion. And yes the police got involved after the ludacris email we received from you and told us what you are doing is harassment and we are perfectly in the right hence us still being at the house and in fact things couldn't be going better, continue to spread lies and to the rebuttal of the alleged family member below, she posts these lies on every report page. I wont give your identity but we know who you are and where your shop is, you are the one who rips people off, you sell things for extreme over prices and are just upset I believe because silas calls you out and sells the same thing except better quality for a more reasonable price and you say he undersells, what crime is it to undersell you're own stuff under the price of someone who doesn't even have an appraisers license, silas does, so unless you want to pull more false information from a place you can put it right back you should stop and think about what you say and at least get you're facts straight, because this behavior this malicious ignorance is why people don't tolerate lies and true deceit like that which you have typed here and slandered a good persons name.

I hate to admit it but Silas Pierce is a family member of mine and when he has estate sales we call them "ESTATE STEALS". I have witnesses him with my own eyes loading up his red truck (with the broken out window ) with stuff that him and his family members wanted before the sale even started and a uhaul after to take care of what was left over he wanted. He is a crook, liar, dishonest person. he is always in a lawsuit with someone every since i can remember, thats pretty sad, i have a business of my own and have never had a complant . SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUT A STOP TO ROBERT SILAS PIERCE. he is hurting people and there families . Silas if you read this you are pathetic person and need to get a life and stop taking whats not your!!! I think some of these cases would be crimes on the elderly.
