Tried to log on to "TRYMONSTERZPAER.COM" and got hit with a re-direct that demanded I down load an "app" - for "security reasons" - no way out except to close browser.
Tired InternetExplorer - got hit with a virus warning demanding (female British accent) that I call a phone number or my computer would be disabled - no way out except to power down and reboot
on reboot my antivirus shortcuts were gone. I edited the registerey to remove unauthorized programs in the "run" categories, ran CCleaner to check the registery, do a cleanup, and reboot.
During shutdown ignored another ominous warning and directed CCleaner to force shutdown- reboot, check registery again
run disk cleanup (C:/properties) run Ccleaner again (no issues this time) and reboot
all seems OK now - very scarry that I "almost" got snagged by what appears to be ransom ware. Sorry, all I have is the URL from the commercial - too bad, I really would have liked more info on that bug-zapper.
